    I don't mind bitchin when it ain't right.

    And I don't mind saying thanks when it is, whatever changes ya made, I can play again :)
    Still a hiccup or two, a freeze once in a while, but nothing like what I have had the last few weeks!!

    Also adding to the congratulation to EA. Nice recovery and good explanation provided. Hopefully the game will make a comeback with the new people involved. UO def deserves it as there's no better game out there.

    just wish some sort of an update would have come sooner, and i complained plenty on this board because there was none

    but, the explaination was complete and im happy, so there is a time to say thank you

    Yeah it was better for me last night too.

    Whether this was real (they got whatever telecom company it was to work on it and we're already seeing the results) or psychological (just knowing they are working on it/acknowledging it makes me feel better) I can't guess.

    I'll take either.

    I disagree, over 3 weeks this has been going on. If 2 weeks ago you found out the problem then a update yes. 3 weeks this has been going on and as it turns out this isnt a "EA" problem but actually it was. EA was the one who had to make the phone calls to fix this but alas 3 freakin weeks. Its like going to a bad reasturant. This is the part where I get up and leave. You all are sheep. They didnt mind taking your money for a service they couldnt provide for.

  10. Okay, out of curiosity and not trying to be nasty, but why keep posting and complaining about a game that you no longer play?

    It's just that I really do appreciate the changes the Developers are making and want their feedback as much as possible. The interaction between players and the Developers gives us a chance to influence how changes are implemented. We don't often get what we want or ask for, but at least I feel they are listening when we get the feedback. The more people whine and complain, the fewer Developer posts I see. The game isn't perfect, has a lot of bugs and exploits, but I really like the events this year and changes that are promised and continue to hope we as players have some voice in all of that.

    My ping is almost back to normal, but still to early to say it's ok, the lag use to start a few hours from now.

    Glad I'm not the only who finds poor communication not worthy of praise. Not even lumping this one on the devs considering it's not their job to get on the Herald and provide updates. Why thank someone for an update after weeks of complaining for one?

    If you invite someone for dinner and they call up 3 weeks late with an excuse do you thank him for not bothering to let you know the night he was to show? Keep in mind the person wasn't on his deathbed and has spoken to the other guests at the party. Kinda like reading the message boards and not responding, ya know?

    Anyone who has worked PR, CS or just been a secretary or receptionist knows that ANY answer is better than none. Doesn't matter if it's bad news. Nothing makes a customer madder than being ignored. Doesn't matter what the industry is.

    Heh heh. You are right about that, Old Man. I should probably amend my post a little.:) I just think after a year and a half of complaints about the CS (and I mean ALL CS) someone would figure out something is wrong.

    I have 7 days left on my UO. I am trying to get rid of my account. I have been around for 10 years dude. There is no shard I cant go to that people dont know me. I have spent more money on this game than the average player. If I want to speak up about any uo topic from now till 2 years from now I will do so.
    Unlike you I dont play for the pvm side of UO(been there done that). I dont have a jillion post saying great job guys ...that was some sweet a$$ lag you hooked us up with. When my game play came to a halt all I could do is start typing.

    Not to in any way defend EA or knock what anyone is saying, but in the end, this isnt a game, it is a business.
    Im thinking that the UO division of EA is very understaffed, and we see this in slow respose from GM and now in their response time to a major issue. The game is a shadow of what it was back when I started... and I think there have been cutbacks in the support staff as subscriptions have fallen.

    I really believe that the PR portion of this was mishandled and that EA was doing their best with the people they have available to handle this issue. Anyone working in the business world can attest that when a problem in mailroom happens, the R&D department doesnt go and fix the mail sorter and grab a mail cart to hand out interdepartmental memos. Im sure there is a degree of cross department cooperation, but Im thinking that this came down to an issue of a problem that didnt have adequate staffing to solve.

    As much as I would like to add my voice to the chorus of complaints, EA is still well within the TOS/EULA, and asking for a free month for the inconvienience in unrealistic. I would think (and this is just me talking) that the loss of money from a free month to all the subscribers would be enough to put the final nail in UO's coffin. Back when we had that travesty that was (Im a little hazy, feel free to refresh my memory) the roll out of the first expanison, the game was almost unplayable for a while, and we were given special "I Survived The Age Of Shadows" items and MAYBE a small credit of game time, but that was the golden age of UO, when every server was packed.

    So really, maybe I dont have a well defined point other than "Sh*t Happens." I doubt EA has neglected us or done anything out of spite... they wouldnt keep UO around for the hell of it, just ask people who played Sims Online. If a game isnt profitable, they pull the plug. Im thinking they are trying their best to keep UO running and profitable... a business the size of EA probably isnt going to keep a floundering game around out of sntimentality...

    I totally agree with you. They are down my $27 and half of my guilds money as well. I am in a big guild. When is the last time you logged on GL and saw a mass amount of BC? Few of them are also letting thier subscriptions run out this month.

    I survived that patch as well man but atleast they kept us up on exactly what was going on.

  21. well the lag is only 90% fixxed for me... i still get a few bits and burts
    and my ping is in the 60's when it used to be in the 30's but these are little things that don't matter HUGE improvement from 325+ with 50%+ packet loss

    Thanks everyone for solving this problem :D

    I tried it tonight and was able to get seriously smacked around by a skel lich in Brit Cemetary. A little lag, but it was not bad and not gamestopping like it has been.

    It works for me and all is good with the world.

    Thanks to EA folks who figured it all out and got it done!
