I'm sure there may be dissenters in the ranks, and that's okay... I just want to give my personal thanks to Mythic for this expansion. Stygian Abyss has truly gotten me interested in roaming around UO again in a way that hasn't happened since... well... probably the introduction of Ilshenar.

Doom had its moments, but grew tired quickly, and Malas itself is just a trailer park, so UO:AoS didn't hold a lot of exploration opportunity. Tokuno... it just feels half baked, which left UO:SE out in the cold. And while I loved that UO:ML brought me my elf, the content otherwise was a bit shoddy (Peerless are fun, but from a crafting perspective, I still don't understand why I can't just turn my statue to face a different direction rather than needing a recipe to make one east and one south -- I must be really dumb as a crafter), so UO:ML... not so exciting overall.

But... UO:SA has really gotten me interested. The puzzles, while perhaps annoying to some, have been a source of enjoyment. The new systems in place have added some depth to the game -- okay, I still have to work on my imbuer, and I'm not sure why mysticism needs tactics, a weapon skill, imbuing, and evaluate intelligence to get full benefit, but the choices on spell use lately have befuddled me anyway.

The Abyss, the Underworld... all of them have pieces of fictional flavor to them that don't make them feel incomplete. You took time to put some tomes in places to add to that feel (the Abyss is a little light, but given other stuff going on around, it's compensated for).

I just hope you continue this trend of adding a good variety of things into the game, AND keep marching forward on the RP/fiction portion of the game too.

At any rate, I've found myself playing so much, I feel like it's ten years ago. So thanks!

I have a few complaints (Tyball, Stygian Dragon, Great Lakes was so unstable from about 1:30 to at least 3, and I lost my key and the only shroud I ever got from Tyball because the server was ****) but overall it's pretty awesome.

I'll add my thanks too. I hadn't even logged into UO in almost 2 weeks. That's a record for me. I usually play every day at lunch. But since SA I have gone back to playing at lunch and if it were not for having my 2 year-old grandson every evening until his mother picks him up, I would be playing in the evenings too!

I really like the expansion..new places to explore, new things to figure out. It is great! :) But the retail side of things really put a damper on things for me

Except for tyball. that is, and currently is ********...

Most just want to see it done right, after all 12 years of hearing "soon" and "we are working on that", "looking into it", really wears thin on most.

It just shows we love our game and want it around much much longer.

Of course there are peeps out there doing what they can to :stir:

    yeah its not bad.

I don't think there is any more then 2-3 months worth of content, but it's fun none the less. I actually feel like logging in to UO for more then 3 hours a WEEK now :p

Heh, funny thing is, they're still not finished. Still implementing a few quests, and probably uses for various loot items that don't seem to have a use yet.

Don't take this post as me saying there aren't things that can be fixed or improved in the game. I'm simply saying that it's extremely nice to have an expansion that has breadth and depth to it. We haven't had one of those in so long that it's not even funny. Especially given the resources that Mythic is working with, they really did a great job on the expansion.

Like I say... I hope the trend continues... and that means inside the game, not just looking toward a future expansion.

Agreed. Devs you really set the bar high with the expansion areas. If I had one wish now it would be to see everywhere else packed w/as much content. Especially the sea... pirate expansion? Too early to talk about that? :D

Well I must say, I TOTALLY AGREE!! I had actually stopped playing UO in the last 6 or so months because I was unbelievably bored with the lack of new content. I am so excited with SA and all of the things that come with it, INCLUDING the puzzles. This expansion is wonderful. I can see that it will take me quite a while to discover all of the new lands!

I mainly like the new addition to the crafting system so where we can make a certain/max amount instead of having to repeatedly click make last.:thumbsup:

I'm having a great time, too. Had to make myself log off at a sane time last night so I could finally catch up on sleep.

I think there are a number of things that are still being polished. For example, the loot on "renowned" monsters in the Abyss (and sometimes the stats on them) still seems a bit "off."
