I just wanted to say thank you to the dev team! In the many years that I have been around I have not seen this much communication between them and the masses. This is one veteran player who truly appreciates their time and effort. (Oh and ignore some of the doom and gloom posters... you guys are definitely heading in the right direction!!)

I may be in love with you now Fridgster  Love when someone is thoughtful enough to show appreciation!

I will always feel Cal did a great job with facing the UO crowd but I heartily agree we are going in a definite great direction.

The interaction has been even better and I don't want to lose any momentum with them either! They keep going, we keep going and the Sherry the Mouse will keep spinning that wheel :)

The momentum from last week seems to be diminishing already: Counting today and relying on the Dev Tracker forum, there's only been one post made by someone on the UO development team in the last six days. Kai posted three times this week on the Herald to (1) tell us about the treasure hunting competition Tuesday evening; (2) let us know after the fact that the Shard of the Dead is no longer available; and (3) tell us we can buy gametime codes from the online store.

In the EM forums, I see that these shards had some posts (or feeds of info) made by EMs since November 4th: Atlantic, Catskills, Chesapeake, Drachenfels, Great Lakes, Lake Austin, Lake Superior, Napa Valley, Origin, Sakura, Sonoma, and Yamato. Nothing has been posted recently by EMs on behalf of folks who play UO's 15 other shards.

Looks to me like we're pretty much headed back to the status quo from not so long ago except that we will be seeing the QA5 interviews to be prepared each week prepared by the Stratics team for the EMs and other folks on the UO team.

Oh well. The flurry of communication that actually came from members of the UO team was interesting while it lasted.

Just because the EM's don't post in their respective forums doesn't actually mean much. Take a look at the Shard I report for just as a for instance. No EM forum posts but...

Plenty EM action, and although it didnt make it to front page there was in fact an EM event on the 8th October AS WELL AS the 9th October

Ah, you are correct. My mistake then on the EM news. I was under the impression from a while back that the EMs were all using the EM forums on Stratics to post information. It looks like the shard news pages on uo.stratics ( UO Stratics *New* | Shard Pages ) can sometimes be a much better place to look for EM- and player-driven event information for many of the non-Japanese shards.

I guess you just have to check both places, because I see that for some shards, the EMs post info in their shard's EM forum and nothing shows up on the news page, and vice versa.

Pfft. Cal blew so much smoke up my skirt I took to wearing thermal panties...

Now, however, there is communication AND action. Cannot fault them thus far. Will be interesting to see how they fare over the long haul.
