The Cavern spawns...

    Are these just broken now? For the last two days when i log in theres nothing spawning there except the stupid ass scorps rats and wolfs. i thought they put in the renowneds come back now so that cant be it.

    I mean for so many imbueing ingreds to come from this area its getting to be ridiculous as all hell.

    on napa i find them broken quite often since last publish. same deal, only the pest spawn around and nothing else. so much for QA.

    They are not broken its just that some griefer has lead away one of the spawn. You have to kill everything to get it to restart. If you can track down the missing creature it will restart. I have done this on napa twice but its just as annoying as trying to find the rat renowned.

    We did the spawns several times on Napa yesterday,went pretty good.
    Just the first time we had to find a ratmen from the southspawn to make it start. After we tracked him down and killed him it all went well.

    If there is still a scrounger or an henchrat from the former spawn around, it will block the respawn.
     
  7. Boy first it was people luring the mini boss off that caused problems. Now that they fixed that people are luring some of the regular spawn off to keep it from cycling..think this happened to me the other day.. they just need to go ahead and make all the spawn teleport back to the spawn point if its been led away to far..either that or make it so dosent matter if one is lured off that it will restart after the renowned is dead after a certain amount of time.
     
  8. People lure one of the creatures off for the sole purpose of limiting the amount of resources that come out of the cave. They get what they want, lure one creature from each spawn, then leave it somewhere way the hell out of the way so no one else can get anything with going through a lot of trouble. Someone's always got to play the jackass which forces the devs to play referee and waste valuable time programming limitations on things so the jackasses can't ruin everyone else's game.

    Some people need to just grow the **** up or get the **** out.

    I've posted about this in the past few weeks.
    Yes sometimes it because one of the spawn has ran off after a char thats recalled or something.
    Sometimes its just because the spawn is broke. I've been down their alot on Europa and everything works great till it just dont spawn anymore. NO reason why, it just dont.
    Perhaps they spawn inside the mountains aswell just deep enough so you cant see their tags.

    once again, there is no cavern spawn whatsoever other than the pest spawns on napa. all three spawns are BROKEN.
    like johnny cash said: "i've been everywhere, man", for 45 minutes i've roamed the dungeon looking for an errant mob, nothing. i'm calling BS on the the lured away theory. you can't tell me with all the people roaming around the abyss someone wouldn't run across these wayward beasts?! this has got to be a bug.

    since the devs and nobody else in the Uhall seems to be able to figure this out, I'll put forward my theory that's probably what's going on (so the devs can fix it because I don't think they're able to figure it out either)

    a long time ago, they put in a fix for the monsters stuck in a wall problem where if noone targets a monster with a targetting cursor in a 20 minute period, the monster despawns

    so, what's happening is that someone works the spawn up to the renowned, then doesn't feel like killing the renowned or can't kill the renowned and leaves it sitting there and recalls out

    the renowned then wanders around with its happy self for the next 20 minutes or more until someone else wanders by and then if they don't go after it, it probably despawns

    once the renowned is despawned, the trigger for restarting the spawn (the renowned dying) no longer works ... for obvious reasons

    and there you go - a broken spawn - that's why they're never broken at server up but eventually get broken during the day

    hopefully this is the real reason the spawn is getting broken and the devs can now fix it after reading this post - yay

    You could be right, it could also be that bug when you recall away and the monster speedhacks away in the direction your recall is going to (despite being a different facet), since Abyss is all one subserver (I think?) it could be at the very edges of the map in every direction.

    This luring thing cant be the cause. One night on GL all 3 were broken again and 5 of us at the spawn looked over the entire map and never saw a single ratman anywhere. Theres gotta be something else that makes them break.

    Anyways who gives a **** though right? EA apparently doesnt its been broken like this for how long now? I mean that area gives how many imbueing ingreds? Noone needs them.

    That and the renowned there are a ****ing joke. Woot lets give a ratman who U NEVER MISS 50k hitpoints so it just takes 20 minutes of hitting it to kill. Its so awesome. Id rather have a chance of dieing and killing it like i do the wyvern renowned then the bull**** they have there now. I mean the fire ele renowned dies in no time. The wyvern hits hard but also dies in no time. The devourer guy is simple. All of which are harder monsters then some stupid ass ratman but the ratman takes the longest because some genius thought how do we make these guys waffles to kill...I know lets give them a **** ton of hp...

    Perhaps when you enter the abyss your tracking skill should be considered GM even if its 0. And possibly buff it up a bit in the abyss. This would not solve the problem but it would make it a lot easier to find the missing spawn.

    I always hear people claiming that the Cavern of Discarded spawn was broken. However, I am quite shure that they just forgot to kill a rat or a Renowned creature which is hiding somewhere. It always worked for me.

    i hit every nook and cranny down there, from the pixies to the useless undead spawn, from the snakes to the faery dragons. everywhere. there was no errant mobs stuck anywhere.

    As i've siad many times before now.
    Sometimes while i'm down their killing the spawn, i take it to the renouned and kill him. Respawn and repeat then after a renouned nothing spawns again. only the little vermin.
    I have been the only one down their killing the spawn so they havn't been lured off anywhere.
    Nobody has run through and got tagged by one.
    I use the 'ctrl' and 'shift' buttons to see if any are hiding behind walls/rocks.

    It just breaks!!!!!
    Possibly because the same person has done the spawn over and over, perhaps its another anti-farming measure.

    I also noticed that most spawns in the Abyss dungeon need about 30-60 minutes to reset. The reset timer of the Cavern of the Discarded seems to work differently though, probably because it is 3 spawns connected with each other.

    It's always seemed to me like the low-level spawn at most of the mini champ spawn areas in the Abyss starts appearing again when the corpse of the Renowned becomes public.

    I HATE the cavern of discarded. it seems so simple, but i never get a good drop rate there, and the spawn is so simple to mow through that whenever i go there its not ready to go. I can go to any other spawn and farm essences and get a great drop rate. Screw this spawn lol

    I'm with Connor on this one. People lure one off as a grief tactic. Its the same as the vigilante player that loads the bulls in the pen on a boat and takes them on a cruise.

    The Rat spawn is a good spawn. It drops highly sought after items in addition to the essence.

    my take is they should make the other items, crys blackrock, scales and seeds...etc drop on all spawns in the abyss. lower the frequency if you want but put them on all the spawns. The essence that the rat spawn drops is the least sought after in my opinion. It's also the cheapest to buy if you notice.

    I don't think its a luring off issue. I think its just broken. Ive found it devoid of spawn (cept for the constant spawn) on several occasions and at odd hours, and we don't have many players that even hang around in the abyss. Ive looked for any red rats or spawn anywhere, and never found it.

    I think its just broken.

    I think they should spawn elsewhere too. I also think each old world dungeon should get a bottom level single mini spawn, themed to its inhabitants to help spread it around. Maybe give them random drops, so theres still a reason to hit the abyss.

    we really need a FAST HOTFIX for this broken that spawm is broken for weeks on Drachenfels no chance to get mats makes me mad
