I use teleport with casting 1 recovery 1 and you have just the time to click the square instantly when the name appears.

You need a teleport macro and ALWAYS have the teleport target in your cursor.

Last suggestion: do not hesitate! NAME->CLICK must be instantly, if you miss a second you are out :)

Go to the opposit tiles what the gems tells you. If it says warm you go to cold tiles.

That is all well and good, but I haven´t been able to get past the last room either. So far, I have tried 4 times and never made it. I wonder what kinda connection you must have for it. With my ping times of 130 to 160 and even with teleporting macroed and with 6/3 or 4/2 (whatever the limit is) casting, I cannot get to the squares in time.

To even get to the last room is a challenge, but finishing that one was so far impossible.

I haven't gotten past the last room either, but that was mostly out of frustration and being over-tired (doing these at 1:30am is NOT recommended). One thing that I recommend is when you have to teleport into a new area, click on the tile in that area closest to the center of the room. There is a slightly higher margin for error (especially if you have unsteady hands) but it helped me get around faster. Also, my girl was wearing the ring and brace set from the spring cleaning that gives 2/6 casting, so that helped. One last thing, as soon as you get into the room cast teleport and as soon as you click the tile to teleport to that location, cast it again. Keep doing that over and over so you have the teleport cursor ready to go when you get the next word.

keep teleport in the cursor and use an opendoor macro for step through the rooms ;)

I forgot to add, that about 1 in 7 times I failed clearing any room after the first, I wasn´t teleported back to the first door and had to recall out and run all the way in again.

    Frustrating, to say the least.

Oh and when you die in the small hallway before the first room, you cannot get out as a ghost and have to use the help-stuck option. In other parts of the dungeon too. Had to request the beam out 6 times yesterday.

  8. In the second room I stand right in the middle, that way when it changes you only have to step 2 steps, then 2 steps back. Try staying in the middle, when it changes just step into one tile, then back to the middle. Same went for me on the third room, once you have the color's memorized its pretty easy, I tried Teleport but even with 2/6 casting couldn't make it! First time doing it I barely made it to the prize. Second time went through the second time trying.

    Goodluck

today I have done it 3 times in the first try, so its possible :)
(one of the chars has casting 1 recovery 1...)

  10. I found that the easiest way to do the third room was to only use the West side of the room, it takes a little longer but theres less to remember. I can't remember the exact layout but if for example you get 'Lesser Cure' you would need to stand on 'Greater Poison' which makes it go past neutral to the other side 'Lesser Poison' then you can use the 'Lesser Cure' which is right next to it. You take two goes to cure it but its much easier than using both sides of the room and risking it checking while you're running over something to get to the back.

Edit: Oh and if you don't have it on, put always run on, or make a macro for it. Personally I have a macro for it, I leave it on all the time and only need to turn it off for getting off of boats.

I´m using my teleport macro, but I´m not a fast caster... I play with protection on :blushing:
It´s all about memorizing (if you think about where you have to go, you´re lost) and casting teleport instantly after you landed on a destination.
Normally it takes me 2 or 3 tries, and then I´m through the puzzle :)

I have a hard time with it too, but it's *way* easier with teleport and 2/6 FC/FCR. I make sure protection is off when I go in, position my bag with the crystal just below my character, and the floating teleport icon just above my character to minimize mouse and eye movement.

I did it without teleport and can be done, just you need to be mounted...

Here is the word list and the color:

    Warm - White
    Freezing - Red
    Cold - Pink

    Lesser Cure - Light Green
    Lesser Poison - Orange

    Greater Cure - Dark Green
    Lethal Poison - Brown

    The ice square is useless.

The way I do it is this:

In the first room, I center myself between the blue and red squares, that way if it turns blue, I can run quickly west... if it turns either pink or white, I can run at diagonals to the appropriate square.

In the second room, I place myself perfectly in the center of the 9x9 in between the blue and the green. This allows me to move diagonally, veritcally, or horizontally as needed.

In the last room, I again place myself centered in the middle of the bottom row (closest to the door you entered) so that the east and west lines become quick runs, and from the center, you can run diagonally and cross to either of side and either square.

I actually plan to take screenshots next time I do it so that this makes more sense...

Okay... let's try this again with pictures for illustration.

The instructions outside of the room in the open book (double-click it) tell you what you need to know, but I'll reiterate it here... once your gem is activated, and you enter the first room, it will begin to shift colors. Your goal is to neutralize the gem, bringing it back to gray.

White (Cold) and Pink (Warm) are opposites.
Blue (Freezing) and Red (Blazing) are opposites.
Orange (Cure) and Green [noted in room 3 as light green] (Poison) are opposites.
Dark Orange (Greater Cure) and Dark Green (Lethal) are opposites.

The first room, you will only have to neutralize the gem a few times (randomly seems to be about 5 to 7 times). The second room, the speed seems to increase slightly, and you'll have to neutralize the gem randomly about 8 to 14 times. The third room will probably seem to go on forever, and the pace is yet a little faster (or maybe it just seems that way... I can't both do the puzzle and time it... hehe).

Once you finish the third room, you cross into the final room and either drop your gem onto the gold chest or just double-click the gold chest... either way, you get yourself a nifty prize!

    Now how to do it.

First, make sure you are mounted... this is a fast pace puzzle that gets quicker as it goes.

Second, make sure you place your gem in a bag by itself, and out of the way (so you don't accidentally close it), with nothing around it so that you're not distracted as it changes color.

Also, I would suggest setting an OPEN DOOR macro for running quickly between rooms.

    ROOM 1
    [IMG]

In each of the pictures (above and those that follow), I position myself in the square marked center position. In the first and third rooms, they are marked with glowing runes on the ground.

When the gem turns white, I run diagonally to the pink (cold gem to warm square).
When the gem turns pink, I run diagonally to the white (warm gem to cold square).
When the gem turns blue, I run due west to the red (freezing gem to blazing square).
Note, that in none of my encounters has the gem ever turned red.

After you get into the appropriate space, WAIT UNTIL THE GEM TURNS GRAY AGAIN!!! This is important because if you mistime it and run back out of the space before the gem neutralizes, it'll probably kick you. Use this run out to color, back to "center position" strategy for each room.

    ROOM 2
    [IMG]
To me, this is the easiest of the rooms because unlike the other two, you really never have to break out into a full run.

Gem turns green, take a couple of steps diagonally to orange (poison gem to cure).
Gem turns white, take a couple of steps diagonally to pink (cold gem to warm).
Gem turns blue, take a couple of steps diagonally to red (freezing gem to blazing).
Gem turns pink, take a couple of steps diagonally to white (warm gem to cold).
Gem turns orange, take a couple of steps due east to green (cure gem to poison).
Again, I've never had the gem turn red.

    ROOM 3
    [IMG]
This is, by far, the hardest of the rooms, but taking up the tactic of the first room will work best (and yeah, it may take some time to get used to movement, and if you miss by a couple of tiles on a run back, don't worry so much about it, simply focus on direction... this stage is frantically paced). The center position (where all your moves should be based from) is again marked by a glowing rune.

If the gem turns dark green or orange, you can run along the same diagonal...
Gem turns dark green, few steps to dark orange (lethal gem to greater cure).
Gem turns orange, run to light green (cure gem to poison).
If the gem turns blue or pink, you can run along the same diagonal...
Gem turns pink, few steps to white (warm gem to cold).
Gem turns blue, run to red (freezing gem to blazing).
If the gem turns dark orange or light green, you can run along the same path west...
Gem turns light green, few steps due west to orange (poison gem to cure).
Gem turns dark orange, run due west to dark green (greater cure gem to lethal).
And if the gem turns white, simply run due east to pink (cold gem to warm).
Once again, I've never had the gem turn red.

The rooms get progressively difficult, but I've found that this strategy works the best for me... hope it's helpful for others!!!

I've had this happen too. I recalled out and was able to run back to the room.

Gah. I hate this freaking puzzle. Teleport's range isn't long enough on the last one and without teleport it's too easy to cross the wrong square and have the crystal freak out, a tiny bit of lag and you have to start over, and the thing bugs out and I get stuck in one of the rooms like half the time. I think I'll just buy whatever's worth buying from those who can stand to do this thing.

Teleport's range is fine in all 3 rooms. I have FCR 3 and FC 1 and can do it easy enough without a macro, took me 3 attempts I think to get the hang of it. Just cast again as soon as you teleport.

Getting trapped when you fail is annoying and half the time the reward isn't worth it really.

Ping is the solution, Ive tried on Catskills where I ping around 100 and its very hard. I have tried twice and not really got any close in the third puzzle room. Nearest is like 10 there.

Tried it on Drachelfels today where I ping around 35 and just ran through it like it was no problem at all.
Did the other puzzle on the way out and then I had almost 4 mins left on the key.

I used always run, I actually got it to second lvl once when I forgot where to run when it got pink.

I don't use teleport. I ride my ethy and run from spot to spot. My connection is pretty good but not excellent. I do have DSL internet. I would say on dial up it's impossible. =/

Maybe it's a connection thing. I mean, I have DSL, but my ping is still usually around 120ms to my home shard. In the third room, I have (several times) gotten booted back out almost instantaneously upon having a new color announced by the crystal.

I don't know what you've been doing, but I got red every room (granted, all the other colors seemed more common).

Perhaps it was from not getting off the pink squares quickly enough.

  26. i dont know why this room is so hard for everyone, it amazes me how many give up on it. your first time you may not make it but dont give up. What i do is set my character to auto run from game options and iam on a ethy llama so its easy for me to run to the oposite color. usually takes a couple mins to finish the puzzle and thats with one try. ive seen people use the teleport method and they fail by the second room mostly. while i still zip on by them running.

Its really not that hard, I never use teleport and I get it first try about 98% of the time. Its only if i my brain goes funky do i get it wrong. The method that has the pictures in it is almost exactly how I do it, wonder if someones been watching me. The only difference is on the final room I stand higher up on the borderline of the top row and bottom row being on the bottom side. From this If I need to go to red or green I just run diagonally, then just always run back as soon as it goes gray.

Also remember it almost never turns red where you have to go to blue unless you screw up, and you will only get kicked if its freezing or greater poison/cure. Also try not to panic and stay calm. Me personally I do not follow the words above my head I stare at the gem in my pack.

Another good tip is to have your last object macro handy and when you go to the next room before it starts double click the doors. I have had it were I clicked them but hit the words and dismounted, which made doing the last room very hard. I don't know why they put those in, because on test it didn't have them at first, then again I was one of the few that even got to it before they fixed the clues on the final puzzle of the 3.

Oh I forgot another thing, if you stay standing on a tile and it changes to a color that you are on it will make it go wonky and says you screw up the gem or something and it instantly changes on you, that is why always run to the middle when it goes gray. Maybe that is why its changing so fast for you.

Good luck and just keep memorizing it, you will get it easy soon enough.
