The New Champion Spawns Have a Lot of Issues

    We had our first real PVP fight tonight and it was so ridiculous. The opposing force kept dropping out of teleporters, recalling back in, running back towards the Stygian Abyss entrance, etc.

    It was really frustrating to defend. It is especially bad in the Abyssal Inferno spawn. You can even recall out right in the middle of the spawn.

    It is fine to create wide open spawns. But they also need to be semi-difficult to get to.

    Undead Gargoyles also appear to give an absurd amount of fame for their difficulty. I was wondering why everyone was hitting lord suddenly.

    I don't expect to attack someone in the middle of a champion spawn only to have them recall away.

    Maybe it's a new kind of risk vs. reward? You can always choose to do something else in UO.

    I think there is something weird with recalling in the Abyss. The first day I could not recall out of anywhere in the Abyss. I understood that this was the way it was meant to be. Then yesterday all of a sudden you can recall out of it?

    People that are only good at choke point pvp will always have problems in open champ scenarios. That being said recall out should not be an option, and only one way teleporters should be the way in or out. Look at despise rat spawn, the teleporter in is one way the other 2 take you out and away and cant return via those methods. either you have to go to SH or all the way through despise to get back in. it needs to be like this in the new ones also.

    Wow, are you two being serious? You are not supposed to be able to recall out of champ spawns. So, obviously something is wrong here.

    Its good that one can make a fast exit from there; that way maybe some casual players or - Lord British beware - even unorganized groups of Trammelites may be doing those champs at times; knowing they can leave quickly once the "elite" ganker groups show up... I feel your pain, really! Not.

    what is the issue with recalling out? if some newb wants to come in and work a spawn up and then recall out then sweet for me... the problem is working up a spawn and then having 10 or more gate in into any spot they want within the champ spawn area to finish it off ( bc stylie)... but really, all these changes do is level the playing field a little more and make it a little harder . . . ??why whine??

    Speaking of issues (and not to take away from the original post, which I agree is an issue and a serious one at that, it's just that this comment fits under the thread title perfectly, if not the content of the thread so far).

    The client does not warn me when I take the cave entrances to the spawn zones as it's supposed to. While it doesn't matter much to me (I go there on purpose), it matters a lot to others, who can't identify the cursor change or the OOOOM sound of entering the Fel rule-set.
