The New Event Wars Pacing

    Is bad in my opinion. As we all know the bane got a great head start in this fight. A while back i held a rally to beat the crap out of the bane chosen, and while we were still greatly outnumbered, we did in fact beat the crap out of the bane. This is when i noticed the unusual pacing of the war. Even if the underdog is, pound for pound, working harder, we still have to wait while the ophidian slaying crows catches up to us for two more bane to spawn.
    thats ridiculous.

    so we are ahead of the people killing ophidians, but after we kill all the hell hound masters we have to set up camp and take a nap for them to spawn in pairs every minute or so. while we wait for more enemies to spawn the people zerging the ophidians catch up to us. it eventually gets to the point were we are both 18/20 on tier three, and the massive group killing ophidians will surely win.

    can we be spared the delay in spawn.

    it shouldnt happen at all.
    all 20 mobs should drop at once.

    I agree with your dropping them all at once would speed up the process, but as long as we are suggesting changes how about the banners for the front be different colors and the banners move 15 seconds before the huge drop of new troops so I stop earthquaking the wrong group when the front moves.

    the flags moving could take some improvements. how about a battle horn playing when the front lines change. half the time i fight this war there are people in the back fighting recruits while i slay bane dragons by the front lines. I think its pretty insane there is no in game instructions on how to fight this war. I know it sounds odd but most people i play UO with do not read uo.com or stratics.

    They did say that this was a new system they were planning to reuse in further arcs, so hopefully it evolves.

    Agreed. The system needs some tweeking. With totaly even forces, the Bane will beat the Ophidians 99.9% of the time. Here is why.

    1. the 3 levels of Bane spawn require 3 different slayers (Repond, Flame and Dragon), Ophidians need One.

    1.a. The Ophidian Slayer is the optimal slayer to use on the ophids. It privides the largest bump toward your 300% cap. Repond has no equal to an Ophidian slayer for damage increase.

    2. This is the WORST problem. Wave 3 of the Bane, the Bane mount the dragons. Now you have to kill them and then work on the Dragons. Ophids all die at once.

    3. At the Last Ophidian flag spot next to the Human camp, Bane and Dragons spawn WAY around the mountains, you either run there or post a guy, but it still slows you too much.

    There are a couple other small things, but the worst problems are listed above.

    Most of this has been posted, but I figure anything the devs might read about the event, would be good.
     
  8. I have noted that sometimes I get two bane to slay while we sit and wait as the other team moves along.

    Mark said he put the Ophidian Healer in to even the balance, but they do NOT heal their troops. They need to work as the Juka Mages do when fighting a lord on screen.

    ..The Bane are only taking 2x damage from slayers where Ophidians take 3x from their slayer.

    ..The flags should NOT be the same color. Or symbols for the color-impaired

    ..The instant spawn of friendly troops when your own flag moves often makes you take a few losses too.

    There is always room to improve, but other than needing more tuning seem to work pretty good.
    .. More balancing is needed to even the sides, Also I don't like random rewards.. How about giving me a blessed, quest item that is ,stackable badge that can be turned in for reward and never something random.
