Truth is dupes happen and if you buy a bunch of items for example valorite hammers that were obviously duped then you know you run the risk of being banned. What I am saying has been proven. You are not "innocent" if you knowingly bought a pile of obviously duped items.

How do I know this is true? Well what happened with vinecord sandals? Everyone knew they were duped and if you had a few pairs in your home it got burnt to the ground and you got burnt out of your account along with it. You weren't innocent if you bought even one pair and whatever happened to you after buying them you deserved.

EA does try to prevent dupes. I know laugh it up but why was shard transferring down? Why were homes burned? Why have shards been rolled back a full day or more in the past? Why were vinecords changed to normal sandals and bright colored shrouds made into monks robes? Yeah proof enough that they try to put an end to and reduce the damage done from dupes.

I don't care what other people here think or say about so and so is a duper or so and so is a liar and is really behind it all.

I don't care about the effects of a dupe on the game. They aren't the only thing hurting it and they won't be the last.

I do want to try and bring some facts to the table with this post though.

To anyone with a functioning brain:

Ignore all the he said she said BS on the forum focus on facts and make a reasonable decision about things for yourself...

Just an FYI.... There is not one shred of evidence to support the theory that people are or have been banned recently for buying or posessing a duped item. It is pure speculation on a few very vocal people's part. The fact is that some people have been banned. No one aside from EA/Mythic employees know why those accounts have been banned.

Ahh yes another excellent fact for the pile

I cannot sit here and tell you who was duping even if I am almost 100% sure of it. Why? Because I don't work for EA/Mythic and neither do any of the other people who come here and say others are duping. It can be pretty obvious someone duped an item but no one here or outside of EA/Mythic can say with 100% certainty that someone was duping something.

WEEE maybe I've not been banned then and my house is just invisible....

When I'm posting I got an account banned for merely buying some runic hammers , and we are not talking loads and loads , we are talking maybe all in all maybe 10-12 verites and 4-5 valorite over several months , then I'm not making it up......... Am I trustworthy , well thats for others to judge , but I dare you to find someone who has ever had cause to say I'm not

What was your point? You knew damned well those runics were duped and bought them. Just buying A hammer right when they first popped up might be excusable in this case since runic hammers are more common than a one of a kind rare but you continued to purchase runics you KNEW were duped. Don't say you didn't know or it seemed legit you read these forums your here right now you knew because everyone here was screaming DUPE! DUPE! but you still bought em.

    You had it coming...

I honestly doubt that EA will ban anyone just because he bought a runic crafting tool, that has been duped. I belief that EA is checking those accounts out, watching player behavior. And if they see some system behind it, they will strike. And that's what they are supposed to do!

I'm just sick of people saying they didn't know of anything and are innocent, while they bought duped items for months. Maybe they didn't dupe themselves. But they knowingly supported cheaters.

Tehre is another factor here to, they do have a print out of exactly all teh activities that occur on the server. Last time I heard about it, it wasn't the easiest thing to rifle through and read up on, but they can back check your past activity to the beginning of your account honestly.

Precisely my point. When everyone says hey there is a dupe going on right now and you buy the items you take the risk and pay the price in the end.

Well, you could still argue that people who don't frequent these boards couldn't have known about those dupes. If I'd buy from Luna vendors (which I don't, on principle), I probably would have bought a runic kit too, once. But people who spend millions of gold on high-end Luna vendors are experienced players and merchants. And I'd call ANYONE of them a liar, if they'd claim that they didn't know what was going on.

People who trade high-end items for millions, KNOW what is going on!

I made my billions in this game with the buy low sell high system and get my stock from shoping vendors on lesser shards. been doing this for years and have stayed out of trouble by simply sticking to the rule if it looks to good to be true it isnt. Never owned a val hammer or vine cords or even a changling duped shroud just knew better then to go anywear near the stuff even told guild members who bought changling shrouds to loose them or be booted from my guild.

I been called a duper and cheater countless times because people see you have so much more then them and right away they think you have to be cheating to have so much more then them. I own 3 luna shops and when they started burning houses a person ran up to me and said your next lol and ran away yelling burn baby burn. All I could do was just laugh it off because you just get used to it I remember a few years back after the large check banes when the shards came back up people just kept runing up to my vendors and couldnt beleave they were still there and I loved every minute of it because it just proved im on the up and up.

All im trying to say here is you can get very rich in this game without having to cheat or bend the rules.

There are a mouthful of assumptions this post is making..

Buying known dupes for starters. How do you know? You assume all players read stratics, read the specific thread about certain items, understand what duping is and how it is carried out. You assume they correlate it to the shard they play on. You assume everyone knows what items SHOULD sell for everywhere on every shard. You assume all players know about Stratics in the first place. You assume that all players know the history of every item everywhere in the game. You assume that players who purchased runics were banned. You assume all players that purchased runics purchased them from the same vendor on the same place at the same shard.

    A huge number of assumptions!

The only FACTS we have are that some people, (both those who have and have NOT posted here) have logged into their account only to be told to contact EA at a customer service number. When they do, they are told that they have violated Rule 19 and all their items are gone. Period. No explanation, no investigation, no arbitration. FACT.

The rest is just conjecture, innuendo, rumors, whispers and some blow-hole spouting off. Take a breath. Chill for a minute. And let's get some more FACTS before we turn into a mob and a half!

QFT. I've made hundreds of millions just selling arties/powerscrolls/other loot. I've never even bothered with the buy low sell high approach.

It's very easy to get rich honestly in this game. I think the main problem with dupers are people who expect to make their RL living from pixels and then get greedy.
