I had been planning on starting this a while back. If there is a player you have a grudge against, or that has a shiny item you've had your eye on, you will soon be able to hire a thief to do your dirty work.

I'm still ironing out the details, but I'm thinking 1mil up front, then, after the deed is done, you pay a negotiated price depending on the skill/reliability of the thief you chose to hire. You are given the stolen item, and the hired thief keeps the cash.

I plan to soon implement a ranking system for my guild to determine the price of each thief. The thieves that choose to participate in this must remain professional, giving up the stolen item for the designated price, regardless of the item's value.

I believe this would be fun and profitable for all involved (excluding the victim, of course). Any thoughts?

I can't say I would trust a thief to steal an item worth say 15m and then hand it over having paid him only 1m for the deed.

    To wit:

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion
says, "Because if I do, I will die too."

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"

Replies the scorpion: "I'm a scorpion..."

  4. Can we hire mercenaries and courtesans too? And NPC recruits to summon in the heat of battle?

My thoughts on your idea is, this thread can go nowhere but downhill.
