I love this new expansion but there are a few things I just wonder why were done and some other things I'd like to see...

    1. Why are gargoyles the only ones who get cloth armor. I would love to make cloth armor. How come gargoyles are the only ones who get this luxury. I still remember back to the day when my tamer-mage wore clothes instead of armor. Would love to see this changed to allow humans and elves wearing cloth armor.

    2. Why can't humans and elves wear magic earrings and necklaces' as well? I understand that this was put in because gargoyles can't wear helms or gorgets so they are out resistance slots but with imbuing they have more customization than humans/elves do with what they can wear plus and extra +15 points for skills per magic items. I would love to see humans/elves have this given to them as well.

    3. Gargoyle tamers will be able to fly and carry around a G. Dragon. So they can have a heavy duty pet and move at the speed of a mounted human/elf? This seems a little strange and unfair.

Probably some more questions but I'm getting kinda tired

I agree with one and two, I wish all races could wear all armor, it just changes looks depending on who wears it.

As for number three, if a tamer gargoyle has a G. Dragon, they will not be able to fly, flying takes up one slot, like a horse.

I don't know where you got this information, but currently on Retribution, flying does not take up a slot.

Well then it is going to. I am pretty sure I read it on an FoF, but do you think they are going to let that stay? LoL No way, it will be fixed before the release or very very soon after.

If they don't let it stay they may need to remove the massive stamina drain from flying as I believe this is the intended counter measure.

    @ the OP

Imbued Earrings for humans and elves would be a HUGE imbalance. Gargoyles can't wear many things that would create some major imbalances with the imbued items thrown in, humans and elves don't have these restrictions. That would make for some huge, huge advantages.

ya but you know how easy it will be to make a 4/6 suit on a garg? ALOT easier then on a human or elf I can tell ya that much.

They still have to make up for the resists... Earrings will need to be used for some resists too.........

Hasn't anyone thought of that? A suit with no resists is useless.

You would think, but in practice the imbuing system is a bit brutal. 2 mods on an item, no problem. 3 can be a little oO. 4 Hard. 5 almost impossible (Not impossible, just almost). The cost to make them is going to be staggering as well.

    Bloodsword I made.

Now tell me how easy it will be for a garg to get a 4/6 suit compaired to a human or elf lol.

A human in stone armor? Or an Elf?

There is no such thing as fairness or balance. UO does not stand for Utopian Options.

Gargoyles get what they get because they can. It's all part of being a gargoyle. Just as elves have their perks, our winged friends do as well.

Only thing that's going to be a joke after this goes live......is all the flapping wings in Luna bank. You know it will happen too.

Mounted-speed animal form doesn't take up a control slot? Well then it is going to. I am pretty sure I read it on an FoF, but do you think they are going to let that stay? LoL No way, it will be fixed before the release or very very soon after.

They're really intended to be slower in the 2D client :p

The Enhanced client currently plays them at the right speed, thankfully. More like giant daemon-esque wing-flaps than hummingbirds!

I don't see how it would be a HUGE imbalance. Gargoyles get two extra jewelry slots. Humans and elves would make the same trade off if earrings and necklace's (imbued) were given to them as far as resists go.

There are many things you can imbue on earrings..plus a second page filled with the rest of the skills and STR bonus and SDI. They get the luxury of adding stats to their earrings and necklace whereas humans/elves can only add stamina/mana/HP. That right there is a huge positive for gargoyles. Also DCI is able to be put on jewelry which is another positive while we get reflect physical damage. There is a big difference.

Certain restriction I understand...No stone armor for humans/elves...I get that. But cloth armor? Why not? Or imbued earrings/necklace. I don't see what the harm would be in allowing these.

Certain restriction I get...stone armor is one and throwing is another. But seriously why not cloth armor. I'd love to take my mage/tamer out with out wearing a helmet...Just some earrings and a necklace. This is something I want to see changed.

Gargoyles cannot wear headgear. On elves/humans you can wear BOTH earrings AND headgear ...

About that balance ... they were not lying to ya ;)

I'm talking about imbued earrings/necklace for humans/elves...right now once you imbue these they become gargoyle only.

I understand balance but I would also love to see some different customization. Staining is a nice feature that will help A LOT but I'd also love to see more customization simply because a gorget and helmet is not how I pictured my tamer/mage.

Wait, you don't take up a slot in ninja form? Wow, I really need to get home and check that out, I always thought it did.

I think you are missing what I am saying. If humans/elves had imbuable earrings, then they would have to LOSE one of their armor slots. Like headgear. Otherwise it would not be balanced.

I understand customization, but I love to see balance :/

Personally I would willingly do that. They would just need to code it in so that if you wear an imbued necklace/earrings then you can't wear a helmet or gorget...I'd be more than willing to make that trade-off as long as the choice was there.

I know that but I believe humans/elves can still wear earrings under helms/hats. I think a nice system to be in place would be to see if the items is currently imbued with magical properties. If it is then a helm/hat can not be worn. However if they contain no properties then they can be worn with a hat.

The problem with that, calibek, is that there are already earrings in game (that cost people RL money) that have + resist on them.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have the option of earrings on a female instead of glasses/hat/helm. But at the same time, it is a little too late to move backwards from here. The time to do that would have been, oh, AoS or so ;)

Which was one of the things I lobbied for when AOS was coming out but it fell on deaf ears. It seems that UO is FINALLY getting back on track and now would be a great time to make this change.
