Thinking about moving a character

I'm considering moving a character from Legends to another shard. I'm looking for one with med-high pop, with plenty of events and friendly guilds that hunt and run / participate in events. Right now I'm looking at Atlantic, Chessy, and Great Lakes as possibilities...any other ones I should look at?

(BTW this post is meant in no way to reflect badly on the Legends Shard, it's players, or guilds. I realize I won't be able to have a house without either another account or giving up the one on Legends. Blah Blah Blah, yada yada, read it fast it sounds like a car commercial) :gee:

The most populated shards are Atlantic, Pacific, Catskills, Chessy, Lake Superior and Great Lakes. Europa too.

I would suggest, if you haven't already, making a character on the shards you're considering during your prime-time. That way you can take a look and see which shards have the highest population on at the same time. Because different shards may have a different general prime-time for most players.

consider LS. Don't just look at the Banks and Luna. LS players are often in the "hot" spots. Lots of community events every week to get to know folks to.

One other way to get a hang of the various Shards' life is browsing on Stratics the respective shards' Forums.

It also depends on what playing style you wish to mostly have.

If you like to roleplay, for example, some shards would be a better pick.

Why don't you post a message on each of the Shards' Forums that most interest you asking the players from those shards to point out the pros and cons of playing on their shard ?

Those playing them know the shard the best....

Anyways, even if you pick a wrong shard, no big deal, you can always transfer again later on to another one.

Good luck and hope to see you on a shard I play.

  6. This is incorrect at least as far as Pacific is concerned. The Pacific shard forum is mostly used by a very small group of PvP'rs, and is avoided by most of the rest of us except for the very occasional post. Other shards may be the same. I wouldn't know as I never read any of the other shards' forums.

I play on Legends also and have been considering moving to another shard. I have some real life issues going on, making it difficult to make the change right now. However when things get settled I want to go to Great Lakes. It seems to have a good sized population, lots of EM events, etc.

My husband and I recently moved from Lake Austin. We checked many shards and found our new home on Chessy. We found many very friendly people, a great community to call our new home. There are many cool EM events as well as player run events on a very regular basis.

Isn't that the case for most every shard forum here? Except for Siege of course.
I know like 99% postings on Sonoma are PvP, lol. Maybe a bit of an overestimate but it's not far off.

Atlantic is far more populated than Chessie. You see more newbies in New Haven on Atlantic than you see non-young players in Luna on Chessie.
