The second series permanently cured me of my interest in that entire series. :-/

The third book in the third series is a little slow moving to me, but it seems there is a fourth book still to come.

  4. Cool. I didn't know there was a third series. I'll check that out. I'm currently re-listening to "A Feast for Crows", getting ready for the next GRR Martin book.

Whilst I certainly preferred the original series, I also thoroughly enjoyed the second. Indeed, I have never read books faster than numbers five and six. I got them each on the day of release and read them cover to cover once I got home.

For me, it is the Haruchai that make the books work, and they were just as cool in the second series as the original.

I never got past the first 2 books way back when I was in grade school. I guess I will have to take a second look at the series.

The second series had parts which read as if they were written in Trammel.
The first and third (so far) were first class.
