so im working on something which could work for pvp and for pvm. keep in mind i'm on a 705 skill pt acct. looking for some feedback if there's any tweaks i shoud make before finalizing this. i'm trying to build it in such a way i can soulstone a few skills and go from pvm sampire to pvp dismounter (have sword of shattered dreams)...

i qualify for 2 mana discounts regardless which skill template i use, though the 38 LMC makes my specials cost 13/26 instead of 12/24 ;( but I could not find a way to do it without removing +skill from the jewels.... should I just go for 35 LMC since that will also confer 13/26? and not take order of essence.

i could have gone 95 DI if i wanted to use special ingredients for 50 DI on all weaps- but i dont. as it stands the soul glaive will do 47 dps, as much as 15 pts more than average archers.

lastly i had a free mod on 2 pieces, i couldnt figure out what could possibly useful to a melee other than rpd since i had lmc, sta, mana, and hp covered. since i'm mana leeching, MR is of limited use.

    pvm:

    swords 120
    throwing 120 (106+14)
    bush 120
    tac 100
    anat/resist/ss 89
    necro 99
    chiv 71

    pvp:

    swords 120
    throwing 120 (106+14)
    resist 120
    tactics 100
    anat 89
    healing 90
    ninja 80

    150 str
    150 dex
    148 hp
    182 sta
    50 mana
    45 SSI
    38 LMC
    90 DI
full resists- fire overcapped in PVP/non vampire mode
    HCI 45
    DCI 35
    RPD 26

    ear: faction M&S
neck: excep garg necklace, resist, hp, mana, sta, lmc
arms: excep garg barbed, resist, hp, mana, sta, lmc
    chest: breastplate of the berserker
legs: excep garg barbed, resist, rpd, mana, sta, lmc
kilt: excep garg barbed, resist, rpd, mana, sta, lmc
    ring/brace: 7 str/7 dex/15 hci/15 dci/7 throwing skill
    talisman: faction primer of arms
waist: D in a box!.. ok, ok, faction crimmy
weapon: 45 DI, rest depends on weapon and purpose
    boots: 3 int
    back: rangers cloak of augmentation
    robe: mystic garb
sash: meer bane invasion sash (i'm not doing any spell dmg so i can have the bonuses at no penalty)

I use a template very similar to what you listed for PvP.

I love the template. Very fun, and very effective. I haven't touched my other PvP dexers lately because of it.

I prefer that to playing my myst/bushy dexer.

It seems like it would be very fun and different - if I end up enjoying it I'll build a 2nd one and dedicate him to PVP and the first I'l PVM newb it up!

Hey Lynk I had a question for you - I think one of your msgs you said you had ninety mana?

I'm trying to figure out how in the hell you did that... I mean I thought 50 was a lot ESPECIALLY when you have 150 dex/str.

Did you leave your int very high, optomizing for the cyclone or because of no throwing weap can swing faster than 1.75? I optomized for 1.5s soul glaive, hoping the bug was gone, or will be gone... but I can lower dex and jack int up in the interim if that bug is still going on.

  4. The Throwing speed bug has already gone.

Having no Mana Regen is a bad idea for PvP. You have 2 MR, 5 HCI racially from being a gargoyle but I would want at least 8 (Lt Sash, Garb, Tangle?). The DCI is pretty bad also. It should be fairly easy to cap LMC and DI. Otherwise it kind of defeats the purpose of using a high damage weapon.

    I don't get 150 str. I think I am at like 130ish STR after a pot.

Ok good points, I am making changes to add 8 MR (incl racial), 40 LMC, cap DI, and with 25 DI on my bracelet I can swap bracelet in PVP mode and use enhanced pots instead. Sacraficed a little str but still have 140+. I could go to ~12 MR but I'd have to sacrafice 8hp from the 2 imbued pieces.. not sure which is more valuable, to have higher hp to survive dumps or have more regen. Wish I had a Lt Guard sash but never won the roll on one.

I am having trouble with tangle and keeping 180 sta. When I lose that 10 dex from the Faction crimmy, all I'd have would be 125 trained, 5 from M&S, 16 from the jewels, plus 32 sta pts from the 4 imbued pieces making it 178 sta. How would you fit tangle in but keep 180 sta?

    Thanks for your suggestions

Hey guys, how effective is high levels (44+) of Hit Mana Leech in PVP?

I'll already be swinging at cap, have 50 hit spell/velocity, and DCI overcapped... can Divine Aura or total refresh for sta so hml>hsl i think. Throwing weaps are 1-handed, so Balance isn't needed.

I don't think you can put velocity on throwing weapons. I just imbued some and didn't see the option, but now you have me second guessing myself because I didn't look that hard.

Mana leech on a PvP throwing wep is a waste. Leech values are halved for ranged attacks, and your damage won't be that high.

On mine I have SSI, Hit Spell (FB on Glaive, HL on Cyclone), Dmg Inc, HLD, HCI. I was only able to get 15 HCI on ring/brace, plus the (5 or 6?) from mana phasing orb. I needed HCI on the wep to cap. If I didn't need HCI I'd put on HLA.

Also, you can't use human weapons like the war fork on gargoyles. I use a UBWS Disc Mac. Disarm/AI are the specials.

Hmm I'll be running 45 HCI, I could put it on the weaps to cap at 50 and put opponents at a disadvantage - will think of that

Crap is HML really THAT bad? I guess HLD it is, or I could put HLA, but that would only effect dexxers

I will have to double check the imbue gump when I get home, the template editor I'm using only has a 'ranged' option, and doesn't specify between throwing/archery - I'm really hoping I can put velocity on because that will be hella nasty on moving shots ;)

If I can't, I guess I can throw SSI on there so that even if I have 0 sta I'm still swinging uber fast.

thanks for letting me pick your brain

Also note the 5% HCI for gargoyles is a racial bonus. All you need is 45 on items and the 5 racial stacks on that to 50.

Does 50 HCI make a big difference or is it worth going for? I'm at 40 from items +5 racial now.

I can put HCI on my weaps to bump total HCI to 50, offload some intensity from the jewels, but then I'd lose HLD on the weaps. I have 30 HLD from M&S but add'l HLD on the weaps would seem to be very nice.. possibly better than 5 more hci?

Well, imo, that 5% HCI bonus is pretty significant. Gives a true advantage over human opponents. I personally make sure to maximize on that.

I'm 99% sure you can't put velocity on throwing weps, which would solve your problem.

you may be right, ill dbl check tonight on the gump

Hey btw there's a gargish war fork bleed/disarm, slightly less DPS than disc mace. did you actually want the disc mace AI even though you have it on the soul glaive?

    Glass sword has bleed/mortal too

both 2.75 so wont need ssi on them to swing at cap

the dread sword looks like the "Diamond Mace" in swords for gargs, same specials, swing rate, and dps for a 1-hander... sweet

I went with disc mace because I had a normal mace that was just how I wanted it, and just altered it to garg wep.

Sweet dude I just solved where I'm going to get 5 HCI on PVP weaps... elemental non exceptional w/no DI

Don't think I will bother with it on the PVM weaps.

    Thanks

Last question... should I bother overcapping phys for sampire mode with chivalry?

im thinking no, since ill be at range for consecrate or if i ever stone on ss for curse weap...

and if im using my talwar for whirlwind it wont be against gnarly stuff, it'll be against annoying hordes of smaller things so again, no urgency on the casting ability

I like using the Stone Sword having AI and para, its also great in PvM stacking 30 ssi, 68 mana leech and 48ish HLL with Super slayer mod works great.
