Thoughts/questions about the new expansion.

  1. 1 - First of all, I must say this was quite economical. Most of us would have paid $15 for the storage increase alone, and the ships facelift is nothing short of spectacular!

    2 - The world map needs to be larger for plotting a course. Right now with the teeny map, you are guaranteed to get stuck on shoals and islands 99% of the time.

    3 - Why just fish? I can see a whole commodities shipping quest. Maybe Vesper needs 10,000 logs from Yew. Or the Lycaceum needs reagents.

    4 - Any chance of going below deck in the future? Maybe even some bunks down there for logging out?

    5 - I haven't done the pirate hunter quest yet, which I was planning to do solo... from what I've read, it's very difficult to do solo in terms of resources. But this is all I've heard. Can someone describe the basics and general procedure of the hunt?

    6 - MiBs continue to be worthless. How come they weren't addressed? Jeesh, if nothing else, increase the gold so they are actually worth doing.

    7 - Kind of dumb question, but that hasn't stopped be before. Will these ships decay on the normal ship timetable? What happens to all items in the hold?

    8 - I used the Hold Transfer function at the Floating Emporium. The idea was to xfer all my fish into my bank box. However, it dumped it into the crate by the wharf. Is this how its designed? If so, I can't really fathom (pardon the pun) WHY this is convenient -- I still have to walk each item over to the bank. 5k for saving myself 2 steps? I'm obviously missing something here.

    9 - Saltpeter needs to be mineable.

    10 - The match construction is ludicrous. I need like 10 charges' worth of black powder just to make a match. Can we tone that back? Also, how long do these matches last?

    11 - I can't seem to make my ship go any faster. I say "forward unfurl sail" but it doesn't do jack.

    12 - On the PvP side, has anyone engaged in a naval PvP battle? How was it?

    13 - When your ship has been disabled, do the boarders get access to the cargo holds as well?

    14 - Does ramming do any damage?

    15 - Is there any kind of % to hit when you fire your cannon, or is the creature on that side automatically hit? As a side note, I noticed that there is no flash, no report, heck not even a BOOM when I fire my cannons. The only clue I have that the cannon even went off is that the monster's health decreases. Is this a bug?

    I haven't done any MiBs lately, but from what I've read, you have a chance of summoning the Scalis Enforcer with a fabled net... So I wouldn't say they're totally useless...

    Well, what type of ship are you using? The Tokuno ships are faster than the gargoyle/orc ships...

    I like this idea. This could create a whole new class of players: merchant vessels. Successful completion of these commodity shipping quests could result in a chance for gold/minors in tram and powerscrolls/arties in fel. With merchant vessels sailing in fel earning powerscrolls, it'd also create real incentive for pirates. :thumbup1:
  5. I was afraid of this.

    There needs to be some substantial reward for sailing Feluccan waters.

    Otherwise, folks aren't gonna go to Felucca, and that goes double if it involves risking a 200k item.

    Don't be afraid yet it is still new and to do this will require some team training. Reward should be the same as reg PvP, Ins. money and bragging rights. No one should lose thier boat.
