When you purchase items from an NPC vendor, give us the option for 1000 gold to have all those items placed into a pouch before they enter our backpacks.

Since large amounts of damage dealt lower stamina, make large amounts of gained health restore some.

Words of power and other things do not transmit across communications crystals. Can we have those along with player made sounds transmit?

    Thats nice ideas bro...

    Especially the custom sound transmission.

I requested for this system for musicianship about 10 years ago, then again 8 years ago, then again 1 year ago.

Not even one person replied to this suggestion, or even gave their opinion about it...

I wanted a system where sound clips would have to be reviewed "ebay style" with feedback and once they are accepted as "medieval enough" they could be used by the musicians to stop playing the same sampler over and over...

    Ok, I'll bite....

    How about:

1 - When you are rezzed, your worn equipment that is insured or blessed is replaced upon your body? Nothing like getting rez killed by a mongbat while you try to find your items below spellbooks in 2d. Its f'ing annoying.

2 - If you can't do that - at least make it so you auto-dress your blessed items upon clicking your corpse. Right now all blessed stuff doesn't auto equip - but then any dev would discover this if they played the game and probably have fixed it 8 years ago.

3 - Why do you have to push-through small critters in UO? I'm a 200lb man. I really need to push through a rat and a snake?

4 - Why can you spirit speak through poison but not cast healing through poison? It should work the same way.

5 - Critters at champ spawns should not loot since their corpses decay extremely quickly its very difficult to get your items back. Either make them last longer if they looted you - or remove lootingn from champ spawns.

6 - Buying up vendors for scrolls, runes, regs etc is a collosal waste of time. Make them insta spawn in 500 quantities. Don't make it so hard for people to use one of the only in game gold sinks.

7 - Give new players an all 60 no mod suit of armor. The crap you get as a new player isn't worth anything and no one takes the time to make gm armor suits in the game anymore to sell. New players are screwed. Makes getting into the game even harder.

8 - Allow gargoyles to ride mounts. The only good thing for the gargoyle race is to be an imbuer and you need a beetle with supplies. Its annoying. They can already fly - why not let them ride as well?

9 - Shard wide vendor search? Two independant sites have created one - why can you? Too complex only a 15 year old could code it?

10 - Make it easier to mine the rare gems. They are needed in large quanties to craft any decent rings/braces. They should spawn 10x as much as they do now or change requirements to need 2 to make instead of 10. It was a bad bad ratio when created and never fixed.

They created a system that has a low chance of the special mod, it requires 10 gems, and a rate of 1 gem per 10-20 min of digging.

This all adds up to a system designed to benefit scripters. The only viable playstyle to make any decent magic gems is to either A) Script Mine or B) Buy from script miners.

It would take 100's of hours to mine enough of one type of Gem to make the required 10-20 rings/braces until you get 2 or 3 with the 'special' mod.

It was a horrible design of a system that they never fixed.

Since this argument can be applied to any and every resource via a harvest system (and even a buy-from-npc system, especially one of limited numbers like reagents), how do you propose to ever balance the concept of resources and rarity?

In terms of MMO gameplay for resources, you have one of two "competitive" options: risk (of dying/losing stuff) and time. Since UO allows people to play non-combatant characters, and is not reliant on level-based zones to restrict people, that means the best method of allowing for resource rarity is to focus on the "time" aspect.

So if you remove the time aspect, you remove the rarity. If you raise the risk aspect, you raise the anger of the "pure-crafter/gatherer"... the first way doesn't impact scriptors at all and the second you **** off a segment of the player base.

If you return to the non-randomized method of mining/jacking, you've only guaranteed scriptors and effective monopoly of high end resources.

If you want to mention scriptors, mention that the problem is NOT the design of the game, but the fact that scriptors can operate without much risk of being caught. The ONLY way you resolve the scripting issue and retain the concept of "higher end, rarer materials" without putting them behind combat walls is to pro-actively remove the scriptors as much as possible.

    Gargoyles can't ride ?!

    hahahah :lol

dude... I didn't know cause I was never able to upgrade to SA but that is the funniest noob error ever...

I mean its beyond anything I could come up with !

    hahaha

Its very easy to balance the concept of rarity and ressources for players who are known legendary miners, or you increase the rate, or even better ; you make it more realistic, you mine raw gems, so it takes a trained eye to see what gems might be worth alot and what ones are just dirt. Then you have to refine them... then it becomes even more obvious if the gem is rare.

So you create a pseudo skill that balances itself depending on what is your goal (for the simple minded I meant that if you announce to the skill you will be making ONE brace for your elven friend's marriage it lets you achieve it faster... but if you plan on script making a hundred (thus reducing the value of the final item) the pseudo skill would stop you.

Just a simple gump with object oriented if and donts...

I have proposed this idea 10 years ago, then 8 years ago... then one year ago.

Noone even bothered to reply to me ; as usual.

No. New players aren't going to be going to champ spawns or hunting peerless monsters etc. You don't need a 60's suit to kill mongbats and skeletons.

One of the things I been hoping for is an arti upgrade/revamp to make them desired and wanted. Crafted weapons should still be better or the same but just bump the arties. Place a reward turn in box or an npc like outside the abbey for people to turn in their artie drops and for a fee of gold, they can enhance the artifact to another lvl. Will remove somemore gold from the game aswell maybe get the dungeons populated again.

You would wonder how we EVER got out of the gate with only newbie clothes, maybe a newbied (read: weak as hell) piece of armor or two and a weapon (if the right skill is chosen), a few odds and ends depending on the skills chosen and 100 gold that we should start them with an all-but-maxxed-out in terms of resists set of armor.

Of course I started during those days as well, but then I also started with the old 8 bit systems that just dropped you in a game and said "go" without any sort of tutorial to get you started, only the instruction booklet (which used to be MUCH better because they also had to give you a feel for the game, its story, etc as well).

I don't mind a more directed newbie experience to get a truly new player up and running, but at least make them earn the pieces through systems created to learn the game itself.

Newbie experience should be MORE fulfilling than "here's a bunch of stuff, go do something". It can be better than the "Nintendo Hard" version it used to be, but don't just give away the farm up front.

Thats what the DEVs said they were working on.

Instead of listening to me ; someone who worked with UO's original programmers... they spend time trying to figure it out.

I leave that up to interpretation.

    *cough*
