Throwing skill gains

    I must be missing something other than targets with my new bladeweaver. Bought 40 skill. Can't hit anything even at correct ranges, so no skill gain whatsoever. Any trick to this, or just enter war mode/ target as always?

    Answered my own question, don't begin the skill gain process with a shield equipped. I couldn't find anything specific, but UO Guide refers to a hit chance penalty if you have a shield equipped. It must be a big penalty. Had 46 HCI and couldn't hit a thing with a shield equipped.

    The Hit Chance penalty is offset by your Parrying skill. You can find all the notes on Throwing in the publish notes here:

    Another thing to note is the relationship between Throwing and Swordsmanship.
