This Thursday, July 30th* will be the 10th anniversary of the birth of the Siege Perilous shard. In its honor, we will be holding a Story Night at the Golden Unicorn Tavern, located in Wispwood Shire. Let us all join together, for friendship, ales, recall memories of what this land was like many moons ago and tell stories of our favorite times on Siege.

Story Night will be held this Thursday, July 30th (tomorrow) at 10pm EST.

Story Night is open to all who wish to partake in its activities, friend or foe, new to this land or old.

For location of the Golden Unicorn Tavern, go to this link here.

Note that Siege Perilous is a dangerous place where you may be killed virtually anywhere, and we can not guarantee your safety while at Story Night. Please carry with you only what you can afford to lose.

    * Our Sosarian historians have done their best to determine the exact birth date of this land and have come to a general consensus of this date.

  2. I will try to be there.

Hm seems fitting that I celebrate the birth of Siege at the tavern where I first set foot.

I have told this tale many a time at story night at the Shire, even won a couple of times gp prizes for this tale. I oft recite this KSS tale I wrote, at story nites on many a shard, beyond Siege oft around March 17th.*celtic festival times*

Due to fierce storms here, chances are I will not be on anything electrical this evening. :( I also put a few short tales, on UO HALL.

Remake (Battle of the Boyne)originally done for KSS, by the then Squire Miranda.
    ***
A Kingly host loom'd upon the stream
    A monarch camped all around
Upon our fair Britania, its uplands far and wide
    His gray palacial pavilion crowned.

Not long ago our sky unclouded showed,
Beneath the sparkling sun sol ray
That a gentle stream of blue silver freely flowed
To meet it's people each newborn day.

!! Suddenly Thunder! Lord British's cannons BOOM!
Echoing thunder his injustice is shown
Whilst a curtained sulphurous cloud doth gloom
And moved along, tyranny upon the virtuous was thrown!
And knight and horse lie in mingled mass
    Regardless of all life.
With furious ardor onward the wounded doth pass
To fight this deadly conflict and strife.

Not at all strange that with such ardent flame
These knights of blue silver their hearts beat high
Their battle word was "Mithras " by name
Their battle cry was "Sol Invictus " justice liberty!
Onward they go onto Oulde^Brit, these silver blue clad Mithras followers
Sounds of thunder and death unwonted rang
all heard and seen the mighty clang.

Floating down the stream's gentle tide
Corpses of knight, citizen, and horse.
Now fiercer grows this battle's rage..
    Yon guarded stream IS crossed.
And hand to hand and blade to blade a king betrayed us,
Hand to hand blade to blade..Shouting Sol Invictus!

!!! HE FALLS HE FALLS their knight commander falls!
He whom protected the sacred scrolls in the walls
Then they their battle mages and knights of virtue brave,
    This persecuted silver serpent band
Who foremost rushed amid the hostile wave
For a time gained that hostile strand of land.
They bleed, mighty Mithras they bleed!!
For them please help them Mithras ye must intercede.
This can not be the end of their virtuous career.

And then that well contested strand o 'land
Lord British's successive waves of troops doth gain,
Whilst the Knights of the Silver Serpent died in pain
Driven back across that blood soaked plain,
Drew their blue silver swords one last time in vain
And the knights’ lives and breath away did fling
And perished' fighting the unjust King.

    OH!! What better cause??
    Thy witness is boldly shown
    Upon the blood soaked ground
That tyranny must be over thrown!
Thy bravest and choicest fell to unjust cannons sound

There is not shame ye abandoned not the fray
Ye fought injustice and tyranny this day
    So sing !
    Yes sing!
Sing Harrah Harrah for Liberty, sing Harrah
For freedom's sword must continue to draw
To dare to battle those in power on high
Let ye blue silver banners fly
With grateful hearts remember to celebrate
Truth, Honor and Courage are never out of date.

No matter death, the flame will always be rekindled again
And again and fought to the death, for what is right
Is not be killed in spirit and hearts of men this night!

Something the unjust can never really fathom nor control
That the will to bring truth and justice to every heart and soul,
Can nary be killed, for Liberty and Freedom is everyone's birth right!

---I redid and remade from this tale from the original and lengthy
*real 'battle of the boyne tale'* redone for KSS and/or for good fighting evil upon Siege.---highest prize I won at assorted story nights, for this lengthy remake of a real tale was 45k :) To put into context many KSS were REDS but Knights of Virtue...yet suffered the same 'injustices' via Lord British's *npcs* as did, others thus never judge a Siege book/player by their *color* !

    *peeks in*

    How did it go ?

As predicted anyone in this rl area was taking cover when tornado sirens began around 4:45pm central and it kept on going, for quite a few hours.

The Weather channel had some photos this morning of the assorted tornado and high wind hits that hit this duo county area here yesterday.

Anyhow hope 10th anniv. story night went ok and that some folks participated at least. :)

    ;)

    *laughs* :)

I thought about getting a few glasses of wine while all that mess was going on here yesterday to calm myself down, but was too nervous to sit still to enjoy a glass of wine. I hate hearing tornado sirens and sitting on the border like this we get to hear both counties sirens go off at once, most times ...I am not very relaxed when those sirens go off, let alone doing something silly like going on a computer when we are told to hit the deck. :)

I am sort of glad though I didn't have tickets to the concert last evening which was supposed to go off rain or shine ..but the police and county officials felt it best to cancel it or risk having some roof top blown off while Trace Atkins sang would not be a good thing for this county's Public Relations nor for customers safety issues. :)

*wonder if they will get their concert ticket money back though*
