Here's a few notes on things NOT in the voting:

Treasure Hunting Loot (in fact, chest and monster loot) still is bugged to where Mage Armor is spawning as an (invisible) property on Leather & Leaf armor, so that some armor items end up being ZERO property loot in the chests. This is a definite bug and needs address for ALL loot. I've had chests with as many as THREE non-magical armor pieces.

(note to devs: That loot still treats elemental damage as a property for item creation, but not for imbuing/reforging is fine as it is; PLEASE don't change it. It actually gives us SOME loot worth left worth looting, for further modification)

The pre-revamp chests had 3 gems per level of the chest, completely random. The current chests give more gems, but all of one type. But, with imbuing, the minor increase is tiny, and means that you'd be lucky to get half the gem types in 5 level 6 chests (and that's your best result), whereas before, over the same 5 chests, you'd average 10 of each gem type. Come to think of it, I will add a choice to the poll on this after all.

Back at the High Seas reveal town hall, I suggested that T-chest and SOS chest loot items be made exceptional for purposes of imbuing caps (without actually being given the bonuses of being exceptional). This would make loot items in general more valuable as the basis for imbuing.

not on the list, but to add to it, the new tmaps really suck, the pin is so far off of where the chest actually is it really only serves to confuse, if it's not going to be accurate to where the chest actually is what was the point of getting rid of our much cooler looking old maps, i would have rather had those except just move the "x" to new spots if it's going to be inexact anyways, hell, might even be less frustrating knowing at a glance the map isn't "pixel perfect"

I think it would also be nice if they added a couple more multi-piece deco items to the level 7 maps. The coffins are neat, but after completing several of them (and giving them away because I don't use them), I'd like a bit more variety to keep me wanting to do the level 7's, otherwise I'm doing a harder version of a level 6 for not much more than a little extra gold...

We could use more gems, ml gems and imbuing resources on the chests.
I'd also like to see the amount of "magic" items reduced a bit. Most of it is trash and too heavy to bring back home to unravel.
And cartography should be used for digging the chest instead of mining. Makes a bit more sense.

Cart was the first among several skills I flushed, T-hunter, Gone; Because of the removal of co-ords, but if I was still doing maps, I'd have to pick intensity caps. It's treasure! It should be something out of the ordinary, something special. And none of that new loot system crap either. Buried means it's probably been there awhile, won't be the new stuff. Who knows, could be old Rares in them chests, but regardless, something not easily obtained off every mob, otherwise, what's the point?

The way I use to hunt for t-maps was using stratics database that have coordinates of all chests. I then went about with my sextant to find the chest. In my opinion this is how t-maps should work, by displaying the coordinates of the chest.

What's funny is that for some people, the pins appear to be dead-on accurate, making them think that people like us whose chests are over a screen away from the pin are nuts or aren't trying.

Even if they just listed the closest Latitude & Longitude Degrees (no minutes) on the map, that would still make us have to search a 15x15 grid to find it.

I certainly like the possibility of 500 intensity caps for the treasure, but not every item or probably even every chest. Seems like it wouldn't be difficult to code in an Exceptional tag on various loot items. I also like the idea that this stuff is older stuff, not new items. Cartography should have a greater use than just decoding the maps.

I didnt mind they changed the T map locations to random each 30 days, and the loot was a bit better but I really did want them to add in ML ingredience to the mix as well.
But I do want the bloody things to have the Cords once I read them! I am a 14 year GM T hunter/LP for god sake.. I deserve a little respect in that.
Locations(malas, ter mur, Ish, Feluccia, Tram) ...should change too... that way the maps I dislike to do can become usefull 30 days later.
I can see a novice breaking their picks and all on t hunts ... but as a 14 year vet on t hunts this is a big insult to my hard work to get to gm back when it was not easy in any means.
Also..... Monsters ...hmm how can I put this delicately...... LIMIT the amount of any one critter to 2 per chest emergence from the ground. 5 G Dragons and a few Balrons and Anchinet Wyrm in the popup is a bit much for a group much less the few I can find to do a map(usualy its just my son and I) Its very hard when the shard is empty of people but us.

I think I had 3 AW, 2 GDs and a Frost Dragon (plus a balron and a poison ele) from a level 7 on Fire island once

I think that the Devs should make Carto function like tracking. Use the Carto skill and target the map. If you are on the same screen as the buried chest,an arrow pops up to where the chest is.

What I would like to see, would be loot from the new shame loot generator within t-chests and mibs.

You forgot to add - treasure map is rotated 45 degrees from overhead map which makes it PITA to find the spots not to mention that the 'pin head' is off from the actual location so its always a bit of a guessing game. I believe that if I find the spot on the map in the world world the chest is located it shouldn't take me more than a few digs to find it. I've had cases where 50 digs later I finally hit it and the spot where it is located does NOT look like the tmap location. Its harder than it should be. I'd also prefer less items in the chest with higher intensity. Think shame loot but 5-10 items instead of 35 pieces of junk that isn't even worth unraveling. Honestly I grab the alacrity scroll, special items, imbue ingredients and drop the chest. I never look at the loot. Its all worthless.

Make it use the thanskgiving set up for finding the spots..
It is near , almost ontop of it set up they had..

Remove the dam snow also already...
But yes loot in the chest is junk , all but resources and few new items {skull key, sash , sheild}.. thats from low lvl maps.
If anything there good for turnin points..
Now pardons thats lvl 6 and do sell most times..

As for the rest of the loot i just leave it there on the corps of dead mobs..
Its not even worth bringing back to unravel , when shame stuff is easy and faster to get..

One type of monster can be a pain...i had 6 ancient and 2 balys on one dig...yes you get 8 max mobs..
Took me for ever to kill them off, was fun..

Adding ML resources would be nice..and on the subject of another tread...why not add some doom items...

My first wish is to use carto not mining to find the chest. Changes to the loot now and then as most t-hunters dig loads of chests and need something unexpected now and then.

I really like the idea of actually looking for the chest. I use EC and the T map to locate the chests, 90% of the time I can find the chest in less than a minute. In the cases where the chest is under a house, locking down the tmap and waiting 30 days is okay. I don't have a problem in stoning Cart. I just decode a bunch of maps at a time. My vote went to improveing the loot.

I used the EC last night when i couldn't find a chest. Couldn't figure out how to get Pinco's to work (kept getting errors) but i was able to find the map quickly just using the EC. However, for me to compare the two maps takes up my entire playing area. It was a mess on my screen but it worked. I think the EC should support 2 Monitors.

Well I have no problem finding the chests, but I would like to see far fewer magic items with the possibility of finding something magic worth keeping, I dont look at the stuff anymore, just grab the good stuff and run.

Why on earth should they make it that easy? It's called treasure HUNTING for a reason. Someone else suggested that the Cartography skill should be used instead of mining to actually find the chest. What they're not understanding is that you only use the Cartography skill to decipher the encrypted treasure map. Randomizing the map locations was one of the BEST implementations in UO in the last few years. You are actually required to use your OWN skills, not your character's skills, to find the treasure's location. Splendid!

The only problem is that for about half of us, the maps aren't syncing properly. Half the users are finding the locations on the pins; the other half (including me) are having the chests show up as much as a screen width off from the indicated location of the pin to the left or right.

I do agree that having Cartography function like tracking would be a bit much - but having it act as Mining currently does makes a hell of a lot more sense than having Mining do it (mining would be better if it increased the digger's safety, say by delaying the guardian spawn a few seconds). All the Mining inclusion currently does is further encourage soulstone abuse, as the current system allows maps to be dug without Cartography on the character, completely defeating the intent of making mining useful for T-hunting.

When I talked to devs back in August 2010, they sincerely thought that adding Mining meant that T-hunters would be carrying all three skills at all times, not realizing that their changes had previously made it to where characters were just swapping Carto & LP as needed, and all that adding Mining did was require those T-hunters to have a 3rd Soulstone (and making those not already using soulstones to start using at least two, to preserve their existing 500-520 points of spawn-fighting skills, trading Carto for Mining when digging).

Wow how did I miss this poll...

Anyway I think they need to have tons of changes to T-Hunting. First off why is that only Illsh Mini-arties are given in a L6+chest? I think in Tokuno you should get Tokuno based Mini's in Malas you should get Arties based on maybe ML, Only in Illsh should you be getting the plain jane arties that first appeared there. In Ter Mur you should get Gargish Arties.

And I think for sure the # of Gems should be increased. After all my T-Hunter isn't Rik Gemtracker for one little pile of gems. Poor guy.

And I 100% agree with Sevin that it's TREASURE it's supposed to be better than the average crap. And Yes it should be at the 500 cap or so... I want to see ML ingredients in there! Maybe just on L6 and L7 but I want to see them. And Most Definitely the amount of ingredients should go WAY up per chest difficulty. And at GM everything I should fail so freaking often when picking a lock. Infact I shouldn't fail at all under a level 5. EVER.

And I agree I'd like to see more deco related items in the lvl 7's There are 100's more items that could be in there... stacks of arrows/bolts .... infact look at Pinco's post about things that need to be added to game..... all those stacks of things "could" come in Chests...... and the other things... need to be CRAFTABLE.

Oh and I have Zero problems locating chests. I am usually dead on... or pretty darned close. But then I play in the EC with Pinco's UI.

I dont care that they keep it random, I would just like to use a sextant to find the chest. I have spent alot time trying to find some chest only to have my hand wind up hurting me after clicking the shovel and clicking the ground over and over and over, drove me insane. The classic client tiles are off and when I could not find them in classic client, I would switch over to the EC because the pin marker is closer to the spot, but still having to click shovel and target ground over and over, still drove me insane :( I would love to do all the tmaps I have sitting in my chest. Hoping for some kind of change soon!

I missed the poll but I would say for me the worst is trying to click on the "half tile" size pin needle to dig up a chest in classic client.
Next would be the loot most times is junk besides artie for turn in points (arties are old n out dated).

With a few tweaks Treasure hunting could be freaking amazing. The only choices I picked were the 4 most common it seemed. Don't get me wrong Treasure hunting is one of my favorite past-times (EC client with Pinoco's UI helps alot), but with those 4 suggestions it would be darn near perfect. The only other suggestion would be to try and keep loot current if you add new gems, ingrediants, etc...

It's true that the loot from treasure chests is worthless. Me and a buddy of mine routinely do several level 6's every time we are both online together. To be honest there is only a VERY limited number of items that we actually keep. First thing I do is grab the artifact (which are basically worthless) and the essences, and hope for a mana phasing orb. After that I'll start throwing all the weapons, armor, rings, and bracelets into a bag without even looking at them. They are worthless. 50 items of pure garbage. Why in the past did someone bury a chest full of junk? I take the bags of junk items home to my imbuer and let him unravel the whole thing. Again, I don't even think about seeing if the loot is worth keeping because I know it's junk. Finally I'll usually take the reagents and gem pile and any misc items like recipies or keys or treats, which I only take to turn in for points. I always give my buddy the 30k in gold. We might get lucky once in awhile and get a decent scroll of alacrity that can sell for a 100k or so.

I've stated before that I don't mind that the chests aren't exactly where they appear to be on the decoded treasure maps. That's fine with me. What is a let down is the pure garbage that the chest contains. Also the fact that you KNOW there's going to be 30k in gold, 6 essences, maybe a few other items of value, and a ton of junk. I'd like to see some randomness added to the treasure. We'll just throw out a number and say maybe there's roughly 75k worth of treasure in a level 6 map. (Depending on scrolls and whatnot) Now, why can't one chest I dig up have ONLY a check for 75k in it? Nothing else. That would be a nice surprise. Perhaps a wizard years ago had hidden his stash of reagents, and only years later we dig it up and find 75k worth of reagents in a chest? Maybe he was hoarding black pearl and we find 1000 black pearl and a few other caster items? Why can't I dig up a chest and open it, only to find that it's contents were long gone? Completely empty. Vanished. Chests now are all completely identical. It's as if when someone buried these chests they went around sosaria burying a chest of garbage here and there. It's NOT fun wondering what's going to be inside that chest because we already KNOW what's inside that chest.
