Occasionally I throw on what can only be described as novelty items on my imbuing vendor.

Today I grabbed a couple colored tribal masks.
I figured I'd imbue the four resists on it to 80% of their armor ability and then add lrc 18% and sell them as a cheap novelty.

    So I imbued
    physical to 16 OK
    cold to 19 OK
    poison to 23 OK
    energy to 18 OK

then when I went to imbue LRC it said no more item properties can be added.
    Hmm
Went into the imbuing menu and sure enough it is at 5 properties.
    I redid my math...yep only added 4.
I pulled up an un-imbued one and checked it and sure enough if put on one property I would already be at a 2 count on the properties.

    What is this hidden property?
    Is this a bug?
    Anyone else find this before?

Try imbuing fire and see if that adds a property. It may be that the fire resist is high enough that it is considered a property.

If they are the special-colored tribal masks, then they all start at base resists, Percival.

I'm gonna send this one over to ask the devs....

    Thanks Basara.

    And just to expound,
    Yep the special-colored tribal masks.
I thought to try fire resist too Percival. Great idea but no go. I tried about 10 more things but nothing.
And if I am not mistaken, the hidden property is 1 point on the imbuing weight scale, but I could be wrong on that.
I did not attempt the tribal mask that looks more like a headdress (sorry don't know how else to explain it)
This isn't game breaking in anyway, just a possible hidden bug.
Of course now I feel like attempting to roleplay a tribal savage.

I think it might be that the masks, at least originally, are 2 stone weight, instead of 4 for the normal red ones. (which would make it the "reduce weight" property possible from Heartwood, or an earlier precursor that is being read as that).

If that turns out to be the case, perhaps we can convince the devs to remove that property, as it serves no purpose (but of course, such removal would only affect new loots).

On the other hand, those masks, since they are now craftable in their red form, might actually be useful for making headgear for those rare people (not necros) that have plenty enough fire resist, but lacking in others (If I read you right, those would be 26% Poison resist, at full imbue).

Speaking of the "savage" look, you ought to see the bone armor suit my necro wears. I think everything on him that's bone is enhanced (not imbued) loot, if you count midnight bracers as "loot"

Going to have start following your posts closely.
Not until you said something was I reminded they were craftable now.
Thats twice I learned or re-learned something from your posts today!!!
And yes assuming the red mask form is the same base resists as those colored ones (believe it is) it will get you to 26 poison resist using 10 boura pelts on the imbue.

I made one tribal mask each type and imbued all five like you wanted except at minimum intensity and didn't have a problem. I didn't try going to maximums. Is the problem your finding only present when imbuing above a certain weight? Are you sure you're using a freshly crafted one and not looted ones?

Lorax: it was the looted ones, with the special colors, that he was initially imbuing that had the phantom property.

Other than the color, one distinguishing factor between them is that the looted special-color ones are half normal weight - or at least were so prior to AoS (not checked to see if it still applies, but the data about weight differences comes from before AoS).

So either the weight difference or the color might be counting as a property. That's why I copied his post into the "ask the devs" que, to see if they can give an answer.

Welp a dev got it and the answer on their post is "couldn't reproduce it."
    Lol.
Maybe he should come and buy the one off my vendor, I think it is still there.
But since I am not running a bunch of tribal masked characters, and since he probably tried to reproduce it with a crafted one instead of a looted one, I guess it is a dead issue.

    Oh well.

    1. Tully, how old was the mask you were working on?

I know I worked on one I had on hand, and got the same results as you.

Now, I went and got another one, and am unable to replicate it.

    2. What was the weight (in stone, not imbuing) of the mask you had that occur on?

    3. What color was it?

It might be that the changes to make these craftable (as red masks) changed the ones spawning to match, and older ones from before the change are the ones that are acting funny.

After all, before the change, some of the standard "red" tribal masks had a default weight of 4 stones. now, they have a weight of 2.

Old old masks I had taking up storage space...exactly how old, not sure.
    Weight is 2 stones.
The one i imbued is sort of a copper color shade.
I had one of almost every color and shade.
    I trashed them.
So I will attempt to grab a new one or just use the craftables and some natural dye if I want them.
    No worries at all.
If it is fixed that is great and out with the old masks in with the new.
I am happy that the bug only exists with legacy ones, and doubt anyone will run into a weird problem like this. Haven't noticed many if any imbued tribal masks besides mine lol.

It is good to have it posted for posterity, and at least everyone knows they can get an item with high poison resist if they are piecing together a suit and need to compensate.
