We have seen an uber suit for an Elf. How should look uber suits for gargs and humans?
If I ever get back to playing, I am working up a female sampire (mostly because of Semidar), once I get her suit done, I'll post it. Granted, she is an elf, but I am making it a plate suit (similar to the one I posted for my wife), which is usable by humans.
For a gargoyle.... while it would work- I think that the loss of the damage reduction from the mount might be too much to overcome. Depending on your play style. Especially with the new jewelry from Shame, the HCI/DCI will be easier to get.
As far as me getting back to playing- my wife's grandparents have been here since thanksgiving and I haven't been on UO since then (sorry for seeming to abandon my Sampire in Luck thread, I'll be back on that too). They will be here through at least NYE... so it will be a couple of weeks before I can post specifics and pics for something like this.
How to get 45 HCI without Shame items?
Well there is the totem and you can put 15 on a ring and a bracelet each. Thats an easy start.
I fit it on gargish plate you can add me on facebook and look at the suit, I don't have time to upload picts. Just PM me if u want my details.
Nevermind I guess I deleted facebook the other day and forgot lol. Ill try to post a link to picts later on tonight.
There are a number of non-headgear and non-weapon items that have HCI on them:
Gladiator's Collar - 10%
Conjuror's Trinket - 10%
Mana Phasing Orb - 5%
Various Shields - 5%
Void Infused Kilt - 5%
On my human I generally have 30 from jewels and then wear either the Conjuror's Trinket (40) or a Mana Phasing Orb (35). As long as the HLD from mace and shield glasses is going off I don't really notice being below maximum. I'd really like to find a couple 20% HCI jewels from Shame instead though.
These are also viable. I am partial to the stat bonus from the totem but then again I also like mace and shields.
before i drive myself crazy, im working on a hammer pick chain AI sampire with 100DI on the suit. how much SSI do i need to swing it at max assuming full stam im shooting for 55 at the moment but im only at 45 so far ( 10 legs 5 cloak and 30 wep) im looking into the 10 swing shame braces but im picky
while i was looking at options i found a 40 swing war hammer with 30 lighting and 50something DI might be able to make something origional with that
also anyone want to share some cool weapons they have made with the shame whetstone thing?
There are multiple factors in determining swing speed. Its your stamina and the weapons base speed then your swing speed increase. Here is the formula and there are also calculators around as well.
Formula: ((Base Weapon Speed - Stamina/30) * (100.0 / (100 + Swing Speed Increase))) = "x" ticks.
Divide the ticks by 4 to get weapon swing speed in seconds.
Hope that helps you out.
understood, but what magic number am i looking for to have "Max"
I still think the marginal damage increase between the hammer pick and the longsword doesn't justify the big SSI increase you'll need to swing at max speed with 180 Stamina. You need 55 SSI for the hammer pick and 35 SSI for the longsword. You are going to loose a few jewelry mods on Shame loot or pigeon hole yourself into using the Insane Tinker legs. I'd like to see it done well, but I right now think that the longsword is optimum. I'm running a longsword AI sampire myself and loving it.
Can a garg use it?
Nope a gargoyle can't use gorgets. There is no magic number it depends on your stamina. Hammer pick is slow that’s the way of it. A long sword is faster. So is a leaf blade. You have to pick and choose how you want to do things. As a general rule of thumb (excluding pvp damage cap) the harder the weapon hits the slower it hits. There is always going to be trade offs. How we deal with and go around those tradeoffs is where most of the disagreement is. One of the best things in UO is that there is (again excluding pvp) generally trade offs that keep things balanced. The balance may not be all that great but it is there and it is something that the devs think about.
