Unable to Login to EA Account Management

    So tonight I tried to login to accounts.eamythic.com to update my credit card information as the card on file expired last month and I hadn't had a chance to get out the new card and update the information.

    It says I can't login. Positive I typed in the right combination. I tried again. Checked caps lock, tried again. Tried a third time for giggles. Nothing. So I reset password. I type in new password, it errors out.

    Did I miss an announcement on a downtime for Account Management?

    Still unable to. Tried reseting the password again this morning and got the same error of unable to complete due to an error. So I can't reset password, can't log in. And I am trying from a different computer from work - just getting a "The username or password you entered is incorrect" message.

    I hope this has nothing to do with a payment reversal. Long story short, EA said the payment didnt' go through, my card company said it did. I provided proof to EA showing it did, they told me they could do nothing about it because it shows rejected on their end and i should take it up with my credit card company. So I did, showing the chat conversation with support stating that they wouldnt' give me game time because I hadn't been billed to my company and they reversed the charge. I hadn't tried to login till last night since then and now I can't access any of my accounts.

    I'll try logging in on the account that just rebilled to see if I have access, but I'd like access to my master account to reactivate my two accounts that went to sleep with the credit card info needing changed.

    Kayhynn, I know this doesn't help you at all, but I've noticed many posts over the last several months where people have complained about not being able to log into their master account and having difficulties with resetting the password. What all those posts seem to have in common is that people were trying to log in OVER THE WEEKEND. This has led me to believe that there seems to be a problem on EA's end on weekends with maintaining some kind of a connection, or whatever you want to call it, among all their different systems that seem to touch our master accounts. I would strongly recommend to anyone that they avoid ordering items from Origin or trying to update account information on the weekends just to prevent getting booted out of their account and then having difficulty resetting the password. Try to do that stuff in the middle of the work week during U.S. daylight hours if you can.

    Hopefully you will have better luck being able to reset the password in a few more hours when the west coast USA EA offices are open and presumably all systems are once again talking to each other.

    Ya just use explorer. I found the OTHER browsers block account site connection.

    I've never had a problem logging into the account system from my Macbook at work via Chrome or via Chrome at home till now. I suppose I can try that - but if that's the case, someone needs to code their site better.

    Kayhynn you're trying to reset you master account password? I had issues trying to reset the master account password until someone on the boards provided this link:

    https://profile.ea.com/login.do

    Go to that link and click the forgot password option and wait for the email to reset your password.

    Sable: Yeah. I decided to reset password after I couldn't get into my account using its passwords - just in case something happened during the fun discussions with them over billing.

    I just tried that link and have not yet gotten an email regarding reseting my password. Admittedly it's only been five minutes, but I'll wait a bit more and see.

    Almost two hours and no email yet. :/ I even hit reset password a second time.

    guess I'll try IE when I get home and see if I can fix my accounts when I get home. But so frustrated.

    Don't forget to check the spam folders. When I use the link, the emails arrive almost instantaneously. The concern is that your account got hacked and someone changed the emails on you. :( If this is the case, I hope your account went inactive and they weren't able to steal anything in-game.

    Sable: I don't have a spam folder as this is an email address on my personal server and that email intentionally has no spam filters for games I play. I'm wondering if the email not sending has to do with the email issues with Origin.

    Just so the whole thing is out there, this is what I posted on UOHomeDecor:

    Last month, shortly after I asked about the written tutorials, two of my three accounts billed. One billed to a credit card that was expired (I forgot to change it) and so failed. The second card billed - but was rejected according to EA. According to my credit card company it billed fine. I went round and round with EA till i have from them, verbatim, to contact the credit card company and have the charges reversed because they show it was rejected and would not issue game time.

    At this point I was heading out of town and wasn't going to fuss with reactivating my accounts/fixing billing info till I got back in town.

    So last week (Sunday, Aug. 11) I went to login to my master account. I am unable to - generic message of username or password is invalid. Now I know my passwords quite well - but still tried my various passwords -nothing worked. Reset password. That had an error and couldn't be completed. Tried again Monday and Tuesday, even contacted support, was told they couldn't help me, contact Origin and reset my account through Origin. That failed.

    My third UO account billed Aug. 11 just fine. I have access to that account, everything is on it, so I dont' think the master account has been hacked (and if it had been hacked I wouldnt' get the email to reset the password).

    So now it's going on two weeks that I have been unable to access my Master Account or reactivate two of my accounts. I emailed Mesanna a week ago Friday and still haven't heard from her. I forwarded her the same email on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

    I hate to bump this, but as I just got back from PAX and still can't reset my password or access my account, I'd love some assistance. I emailed Mesanna with no response too, so I'm kinda at a loss here.

    I tried resetting my passwords both ways, nothing. The Origin link Sable provided never sent an email - nothing I've done has gotten my password reset. I PMed and emailed MEsanna and no response.

    If anyone has the 800 number or a US number for EA, please pass it on to me. I need to get my accounts active again before one of my keeps falls this month. If I don't, then I'll prolly close out my UO accounts.

    Could some idiot in billing have perma-cancelled your accounts for the reversed charges?

    You will probably have to contact EA directly and jump through their ridiculously long questionnaire to prove that the account in question is yours. I had this happen to a BRAND NEW account, and it took about three weeks to resolve the issue including two weeks of not getting back to me on it. And the best "customer service" they offered for it was, "You can log in and pay us money now." 100% completely their fault, and not even a discount code for Origin. I was shocked at how poor their CS was for an inconvenience I had absolutely no control over.

    I got that same questionairre, then was told "Oh that is only for individual UO accounts, you need to go here (The address Sablestorm provided) to reset your EA/Mythic Master account." I was almost surprised I wasn't asked for a blood sample to go along with it. I mean seriously? Who knows the last time they logged into their master account much less each individual UO account. I have a rough idea, but that's just it....rough.

    Went there, tried to reset, never got an email (and there are no filters on this email intentionally). I've been fighting with this for more than a month now and am Wondering if what Zog said isn't the case. I was told to reverse charges as they wouldn't give me time I paid for according to my CC so I did.

    At least I have email proof of that exchange.

    You were right. That's exactly what happened. They banned the master account. After a long discussion and proof of dsicussion with UO support over the matter they fixed things. We'll see how long it stays fixed.

    So then what I heard/was told is TRUE! They WILL ban your account(s) for reversing a credit card. Holy cow!

    It was a hunch, and I doubt the person thinks he/she was doing anything but "my job." Never attribute to EA's malice that which is adequately explained by their sheer stupidity.

    Oh, not only that, they'll perma-ban your account if they themselves have to refund money to you. I had an account I am 100% sure was set not to renew, and it renewed anyway. Went through customer support, and they finally agreed to refund the charges, and instructed me that I would have to contact them again if I wanted to renew that account. When I went to renew the account, of course, I couldn't, and did reach out to them to renew it.

    Turns out they had permabanned that account (not the master account, thankfully), and then told me the only way I could get it restored was through in-game support. So I sent them a copy of the original email they had sent me, and they FINALLY unbanned it so I could resubscribe.

    Pretty much, any time that I have to deal with EA customer support, I start playing calliope music in the background.

    I was charged for a renewal. Origin said the charge was rejected, my card said it was accepted. I was advised by Origin to wait 5 days and see if it fully clears. It did, I contact them again, explained the situation, referred to the ticket number, provided proof of the transaction clearing and asked that my account be credited with game time. They told me no can do, that on their end it shows as rejected and they can't give me time for a rejected card and to "Talk with your bank about it."

    So I showed the bank the conversation with EA and they immediately reversed the funds due to Origin's refusal to provide services that were paid for.

    So two weeks later when I got time to change credit card info when I wasn't out of town, I found I couldn't access my master account and went through a bunch of processes. Mythic didn't see I was banned. Put me through to Origin. Origin tells me I'm banned for reversing charges. I explained the above to them, was told to provide proof, so I did.

    It's pretty sad that Origin can't see Mythic's support ticket exchanges and Mythic can't see who Origin bans.
