Undertakers staff.. need some sort of clarification!

    So I haven't really bought from the UO codes thing before, partly because I feel that there needs to be a goldsink rather than an RL cash sink (thats just me maybe!) and that I already pay a monthly fee already, but mainly because nothing really seemed worth buying.

    Then I see this staff. However, I am nearly totally put off by the poor translation of the page (or, the poor grammar of the page author) as well as one missing piece of key information.

    How many charges does it have and can it be recharged?

    It apparently uses one charge per successful attempt to grab a corpse/s, but mentions nothing of how many charges it has! Regardless of the grammar issues, i'd really like to know the number of charges!

    Undertaker's staff works in the following case. And it spends 1 charge when you succeed in summoning your corpse.

    * The corpse is your own corpse (You can summon only your own corpse).
    * The corpse exists in same sub-server.
    * The corpse exists in 40 tiles from you.
    * You don't have a criminal flag.
    * You don't have an aggressor's flag to other players.
    * The corpse hasn't been summoned 3 times yet.
    * The corpse isn't empty.

    And if you were killed by other player in PvP facet, you can't summon the corpse for 3 minutes*
    * May change during online play

    You can select "Summon most recent corpse only" or "summon all corpses"(*default) from the staff's command menu. If you summon several corpses at once, only 1 charge is consumed. If you can't summon any corpses, the charge isn't consumed.

    Notes

    * This item can't be imbued.
    * If its charges become 0, the staff is broken.
    * You can summon 15 your corpses at the maximum at once.
    * This item doesn't have blessed property in Siege/Mugen.

  4. I was looking into getting that till I read above. $6 dollars is a lot to spend for a ingame item. Does it recharge? Can it be transfer between characters? If I die in an area I cannot get back to, but don't have the staff on me, can I run home, grab it, return and use the staff to get my body? Or am I stuck carrying this staff on my body for all times? I also have questions on the vendor earrings that the store pages is not answering. Are they also rechargeble? Or are they a one time purchase that will not work any more after all the charges are used up? So far the thief one seems the best.

    Didn't answer my question really.. but you did provide a set of great examples of the poor grammar!

    And thanks, It Lives - pity they couldn't include that on the page :D

    If its charges become 0, the staff is broken means

    cant be recharged...wont work after...garbage, broken no more uses..like the armor engraver....once charges are at 0...no good....total rip off if ya ask me
    hope thats clearer! lmao

    Yeah, I know the UOGamecode site has the descriptive information now--a very poorly done translation of what's on the EAJapan site. Guess they didn't swipe the pictures too with all their info in Japanese because then it would be obvious someone only took about 10 minutes to do the whole job. Can't believe no one on the US side was able to get their hands on the items themselves to at least post pictures with the item descriptions. Not a very impressive showing at all of what they use our subscription fees to do. I guess someone figured some English-speaking players would get the items soon enough and post screen shots. We're such a diehard loyal group....we overlook a hell of a lot because we're so addicted to UO and EA knows it and uses that to their advantage. It's becoming painfully obvious that they're either putting more money into the Japanese side of the game or there is a totally different work ethic that drives the two teams. Look at their web site site some time even if you don't read Japanese and compare it to ours. Miles apart in quality and not getting any closer. Go run around on some of the Japanese shards and see how crowded and full of houses they are. Either they have tons more players or houses on closed accounts on those shards don't drop the way they should.

  9. Oh ya, I hear you about the player base on the Asia shards, they are huge when compare to the USA. Houses are all over. Makes me wish we had a way to place more then one house per shard.

    100 Charges and non-rechargeable.

    One of the US guys or gals probably posted it last minute from home last night. Something else to tide us over. they have givin us a lot of treats for the last quarter. Saddens me people are so unhappy. With a few buggy exceptions I think they have done a great job. Think of it like supporting your beloved old school game as opposed to buying from a potentially scammy broker, after all, nobody said you have to buy anything from gamecodes.
