Unplayable lag during primetime on LS...multiple trace routes included

    Anyone else on the East Coast running Verizon FiOS with unplayable lag during primetime? I remember a thread earlier regarding this issue. I've included a few TraceRT's below during different times of the day to the LS server. I've noticed there's always a timeout for #5,8,12,16,17,18. See below for more details...I hope someone can fix this.

    The "request timed out" responses have nothing to do with your problems. Those are server settings blocking either pings or polling, to prevent DOS attacks. I can't ell from your TR, but I would guess it is a Verizon issue, and I'd start by calling them. I've had good luck calling my ISP, but it was a small company.

    All the pings to Verizon aren't bad at all....
    10 pm the highest ping is@ Amazon itself
    12:30 the highest is a server in New York.

    Your TR Ping is lying for you somehow. The lowest ping you will manage to get if you are on a local server is 16ms, and it shows that after 4 hops you have 2ms??? And, as mentionend - the request timeout is a gateway or firewall that is set to not respond on ping for to prevent dos attacks or other attacks.

    Try find UO Trace, and put in the servername there - and traceroute it, and do a poll to the server. That will show if you got packet loss anyway on the route. Or just try 'ping lakesuperior.owo.com'.

    I have a question that might sound stupid... but here goes.
    In the last few months UO has had a lag issue sprouting on many shards and system repairs have gone down with shards all this last month to fix issues. Routers, Cloud, Sun activity, Carrier's, and the web hubs have been under suspicion.
    I am not sure what the cloud is.... but not sure of its impact on the con of the game or its influence over lag.
    I have over the years sent trace to the game to the Dev and the engineers at UO as requested.
    I know in the past signal hubs have been to blame for packet loss etc.. I know my terminology is old.
    What is the true answer to the lag and general disruption?
    Shards are or were on seprate servers so lag use to not be a general over all issue.
    Why now is one by one from Europa to Origin geting spikes of lag to complete disrupton of game?
