    Hello,

I am writing this here after 20 days of frustration and i have no idea where to ask for help so here is my story.

I want to reactivate my UO account, and somehow it is linked to another EA account, so i cannot retrieve it.
So i contacted the UO support team via email and explained my situation, and they asked me to send some information, including the secret answer for this account.
Now, i know it is my fault for not remembering it, but this was created 10 years ago (was 13 at the time), but the fact is i do not know what i wrote back then.

To make up for that, i sent an insane amount of details and information concerning myself and my account, offered to send ID copies to prove that i am the owner of the account, but the only thing i get from the damned support mail is basically an automated message saying "sorry no secret answer no account".

I contacted EMs in the hope they could do something, just to realize they had no power over this matter.
I tried to look for a phone number, but i have been told they do not have a support anymore.

Why is it so damn hard to have some sort of contact with a support team?
21 days that i have been waiting for anything, constantly sending and re-sending them emails for nothing...

Any idea what i can do here?
    Thanks for your time.

10 years ago there were no secret answers, and they should be able to give you the secret question that goes with it if there is one.
The EA account your uo account is linked to should be your email address. I'm guessing this account is from before the current accounts system was introduced.
If all else fails, sometimes Mesanna can help. I assume the address you are sending to is [email protected] ?

Yes i keep sending to [email protected]
If it is not the UO secret answer than i do not know what it is.
I got the secret question and answered with all the possible answers that came to mind and apparently i did not get it right.
I don't even get to talk to someone behind his PC anyways, always an automated message that gets us no where, no matter what i reply back.
I want to have a conversation with someone that can do something about my case, is that really too much to ask for?

Could it be, that you gave the account or its credentials away and now somebody else is using it?
This person then could have changed all information behind the account.
(Since, if you did not associate that account with an EA ID, it should still be unassociated, and an EA ID is mandatory to link an unlinked UO account to it.
The user name for linking that account would be youraccountname_uo.)

Is this an account that you've been playing with all this while?
Or have you not touched it for 10 years?

By "linked to another EA account", I'm guessing you mean that your Mythic account ""xxx_uo" is linked to an EA master account (which is in the format of your email address)? Linking of accounts to an EA account is something that's a bit more recent than 10 years ago.

Are you able to remember or access that EA master account? Or at least the mailbox tied to that EA master account?
EA advisor (tech support) can help you with that master account. Once you get that, you can use that account to access your linked account.

You might try this link for a "live chat" option. They just revamped the site on Saturday so "hopefully" it is more helpful with the UO stuff now.

It sounds to me that someone else has your old UO account linked to their mythic master account. Did you give anyone your account credentials years ago? Maybe a friend or a guild mate? If so, it is possible your account was passed around and there is a current owner who linked the account to their Own Mythic Master account.

Is the "secret word" something that can be setup via the account website?

I have no clue what my word is and I never remember setting one up!

If you haven't logged on in a long time, you may have never needed to make a Mythic master account, or an EA login at accounts.ea.com (which is the one with the secret question). Maybe nobody has linked or done anything your account. I wouldn't put it past EA's reps to fail to see you never had the chance to make a secret question and answer.

EMs are just players who are paid to host events ingame. How on earth could a player help you and if you gave them your account details then they now own your account.

My suggestion? Start a new account. It's not that hard really to get up and running in UO.

I remember having to fight with stupid automated messages asking for secret answers to secret questions when returning. This despite having an account that didn't have secret questions or wasn't linked with Mythic,EA,Origin or anything else back then. This was 2 years ago. Back then, it was still pretty easy and fast (3-4 days to get it solved) to get to speak with an actual human who actually knew something about UO.

Returning vet who still has access to email linked with UO accounts, has no clue wtf Mythic account or EA master account is and has his password long forgotten on top of it all propably makes a very typical returning vet. Such person is in for a process so tedious and confusing that describing it with suitable words would prolly get me banned from statics;p

Hi welcome back so you wanna buy some gametime for your old UO account?lol..ok... so pls link your UO account to Mythic master account .Mythic master accounts were a thing like 5 years back. They aren't a thing anymore but we need you to do so anyway. once done you can then link this Mythic Master account to your EA account btw are you sure you don't wanna buy warhammer instead?btw your EA account is same as your Origin account so if your email already has an Origin account then you basically already have EA master account but just didn't know it and it's not something we'd care to tell you btw if you change your Origin password it also changes your the master account password on some meta level we never make fully clear. but hay. btw are you absolutely sure you don't wanna try Warhammer? please enjoy Mythic's best efforts to confuse you during every turn of this process. have fun trying to find a page where you can actually subscribe underneath the heapton of this arcane bullsĀ¤#!t. oh and welcome back!
    Seriously. What the fu..

I've long since come to understand and accept UO has very small budget and limited resources. Things like new, significant expansions etc are in past, not in future. That is fine. Still, some key parts of providing a customer an ability to give UO money are ass backwards in very self destructive scale. Plenty of people who would like to come back propably never will, due to amount of tedium and confusion in process I just described. It was very difficult few years back. Process that gets solved with an automated email in every other MMO took a good deal of back and forth emails over 3-4 days. Since then, customer support has been axed.. Typical potential returning vet wants to try UO on an impulse on some Sunday afternoon. They gradually realize that doing so makes an epic test of endurance, patience. They cba and walk away. Also, UO has cash shop. This cash shop sells you codes. These codes don't work. This is a problem that just doesn't get fixed. In months. My fuking god..

Such insane amount of neglect. UO still has a dev team. Very good one I think. Yet, game as a whole clearly goes completely unmanaged. Literally; there is no manager who'd mannage to manage stuff like this, ensuring core exprience of giving EA money for playing UO would be..if not tempting, at least easy. Pretty sure UO has been the only not completely dysfunctional, sick-on-birth project EA-Mythic has ever had. Still, it is managed and supported with complete indifference and neglect. "It doesn't matter if you come back. It doesn't matter if codes you get off cash shop don't work. See,we are too busy making mobile games nobody likes or buys. I wonder how much of this has to do with EA just forgetting UO, how much of it has to do with lack of motivation among leadership of Mythic. Clearly Mythic as a whole often manages to secure crumbles off EA's table; they are pretty busy making mobile games that nobody likes or buys. Yet, the one game that keeps their boat on surface is dismissed and forgotten. I wonder if income off our subs make a tiny, small trickle funding some colossal EA project or another..Or if our subs make a more significant trickle in stream of cash funding some stupid mobile game by Mythic. I am SURE our subs most assuredly don't go to funding UO.

That part really got me. It feels inappropriate somehow to laugh at that, even if it's a bitter laugh.

If you can provide the original CD Key, or any of the upgrade serials - and mayhaps one of the cc info that has been charged, that should be enough for to claim ownership of the account - regardless if anyone else have it now.

Find your old CD Keys and expansion Keys, and if you got the CC info - send it to EA and you should get the ownership.
