Fixed an issue that allowed gloves to show properly on the paperdoll
It was fixed so we have to rebreak it?
The east bridge is fixed??
"Fixed an issue with the Despise bridge causing Line of Sight issues"
haha yea, i caught that too lol.
A respectable bug list.
I almost feel sorry for the iron beetles ... people keep expecting so much of them.
I'm a little surprised about the change to snake-charming flutes ... I'm not a peerless-hunter, but that seemed a nice use for the ingredients given that it doesn't give anything that can't obtained in other (less-efficient) ways.
No more Faction/Non-Faction alliances, huh?
Players will be able to meditate while wearing Gargoyle Jewelry without imbuing mage armor into it.
woohoo i can finish my gargoyle now
"Players can no longer unravel items after they have been traded." This has my crafter a bit concerned. I can't have my fighter hand items looted from monsters to my crafter to unravel?
Players can no longer unravel items after they have been traded
i dont get this one.. so if i buy a magic item or something that can be unraveled into a relic it wont let me unless i loot it or get it first hand??
Slightly bummed about 3.0s being removed, but otherwise, a good list. Most of the obvious bugs that really needed to be fixed have been -- there are still a lot of tweaks that need to happen IMO though. Guess they'll have to wait for Pub 62.
Players will be able to meditate while wearing Gargoyle Jewelry without imbuing mage armor into it.
can we just go ahead and make it so all armor is meditative.. its only fair..
right now, leather armor is equal to plate armor, but plate armor is not equal to leather armor because you cant meditate in it unless you want to waste 1 mod on mage armor..
i would love to set my sampire up in all samurai gear, but cant.
either that or turn down mage armors weight.. so its invisible..
I'm guessing (don't know for sure since I've never tried it) that probably you can select an artifact to unravel, trade it to another player, then confirm the unraveling and it will unravel from their backpack. Or something of the like.
Any thoughts on why tasty treats are being made unstackable? Balance issue? Bugged?
Temporarily. Honestly the fix for the exploit I know of is ridiculously simple, but eh.
Will vet rewards be available on TC?
Would presume it's a balance issue since they can't even be insured.
I'm guessing here, because I haven't seen it. But I think what could be happening is someone opens the imbuing screen and targets and item, trades it, then unravels the item after it was traded??
no you cant i tried it by selecting an artifact to unravel, then throwing it in a box and walking off. it breaks the gump and you have to log out and back in to use imbuing again.
try using an unraveling bag (even if empty) instead of logging out.
I have finally reached the conclusion that whomever is posting these notes has English as a second language. If you can read and understand everything written there, you have some type of mental defect.
Hmm why that? I dont understand it, if i and my friend collecting items from a peerless for example and he has imbuing and iam not but he cannot carry all items, i cannot give him the items via a trade window? hmm thats bad!
Dyeable snake skin boots and bear masks, anniversay robe swap box, bugs/exploits fixed, 12th anniversary gifts, I just got SA 2 days ago and I think the list looks great. Specially since hopefully the Pub will knock out the scriptors for a couple days again.
Keep up the good work Mythic.
It's surprisingly common of patch notes. Something about wrapping your head around code for days on end turns just about anyone's writing into a similar gibberish.
... or an IQ over 30? I fail to see your point. Is there something confusing about the notes?
"Damage rate of weapons have been adjusted." Is that the damage rate done to the weapons from wear, or the damage our weapons inflict on others?
I cant remember now. When you drop a stack of food on an animal doesn't it eat all of it? If so then the fix makes sense.
I believe it would be durability damage the weapon takes !
If it was the damage they did, it would probably say "DPS of weapons adjusted..." -.-
wonder if they will fix the death vortex and red sparkles from liche spawn with this patch
...you can't understand it? Makes perfect sense to me. In fact, it's really easy to understand for anyone whose first language is english. Sure, a couple may be worded a bit weird, but it's not hard to unscramble them. And Maplestone also pointed out a good point
Ok run this one through your deciphering ring.
Fixed an issue to allow Faction players from triggering a trapped chest to deny giving faction scores and stat loss
That's not an English sentence construction I've ever seen.
"12th year Anniversary items –
Players will have till November 8th to log into the game to receive their gift ticket."
I hope this publish doesn´t go live until after the Return to Britannia thing has been closed...
You really don't know what they meant to say there? lol
Apparently there is an issue where players in factions would purposefully trigger a trapped chest to avoid entering stat loss and giving points to the one who was killing them.
"Fixed an issue that allowed Faction players to trigger a trapped chest to deny giving faction scores and entering stat loss." ?
You made my point for me. If I have to figure out what they meant to say, then they obviously didn't say it.
Also, I understand what Maplestone was getting at about the gibberish from taxed brains. But, I also know that coders generally think a lot more logically than these phrases were put together. It's very clear they don't waste time proofreading anything they publish. While I'm critiquing I may as well throw this in. It's not very professional to include abbreviations in business correspondence. Yes, this is a game to us, but it is EA's business. What does SoT mean to a non-Stratics UO subscriber?
Maybe my expectations are too high, but I'm 'old school'.
Well since most of their notes are worded well it's all good. But looking at how many bullet-points there are, can't blame them for messing at least one.
Impressive bug fix list. Well done. Glad to see a lot of things that have been complained about being fixed. Keep it up team.
I believe the implication here is that someone was trading items to someone else from within an unravel bag, and then, once the the trade was completed, then right-clicking the bag and clicking unravel, and those items were then unravelling.
I could be mistaken, but it wouldn't make sense that an item would not be able to be unravelled simply by virtue of them being traded between people.
No one is saying it's worded correctly, they're saying it's not hard to understand. If anyone needs to correct what they've said It'd be you "Anyone who understands the patch notes must have a mental handicap?" How does that remotely make sense? Saying the person writing would be harsh, but would make sense, however saying if someone has the cognitive power to decipher the spelling/grammatical errors has a low intelligence score makes no sense as, since they have the ability to understand something you apparently cannot, would mean they, indeed, have a higher IQ score.
Yay!! My miner is pleased and sis will be glad to get it OUT of her stable!
Of course, all communication is exactly this. If you don't understand the context in which I am speaking, you must create your own context through which to frame what it is that I am saying. At all levels of communication, basic through advanced, you must indeed "figure out" what it is that someone is trying to say to you (or communicate to you through written or visual communication channels).
You might think that coders always think more logically and therefore that gives them some sort of advantage in conveying what it is that they are trying to convey. However, there is an old axiom that the programmer should never be responsible for writing the manual -- and this axiom has been extended to a core programmer should not be the one designing the user interface. What seems logical and straight forward to a programmer might actually defy the logic of an end user. For instance, "Enter F for False to indicate that you have collected your money this week." To the programmer, it makes perfect sense. "F for False" means that his program does not have to enter the "Uncollected Monies Report Screen," and so it does not have to take an action -- thus, False makes sense. However, to someone else, False meaning I did something makes little to no sense. This is why user interface developers intervene and they become, "Enter the dollar amount you have collected, or 0 if you have collected none."
Yes, abbreviations should be avoided (or even better, simply explained, such as "Scrolls of Transcendance [SOTs]"), but that doesn't mean that it's unprofessional. Trade industries use acronyms (which is what you meant, not an abbr., which is an abbreviation) all the time, without abandon. At some level, you are simply expected to know what people are talking about. If you don't know, you ask.
No, you're not "old school." You're on some sort of grammar kick, and yet, you have violated many of the very same grammar rules you want enforced without any forgiveness. I mean, you don't use single quotation marks outside of a quotation, and you punctuate inside of those very same quotation marks. An abbreviation is not the same thing as an acronym. For being "old school," your expectations for your own communication skills seem comparatively lax.
Perhaps, instead of being critical of the grammar that is being used, be thankful instead that we've received communication about what's coming out for the game. Suggest, perhaps, that there be proof-reading done in the future, but instead of climbing aboard a high horse to do so, why not frame it from a perspective that says, "I'm sorry... I'm having trouble understanding some of the things that you have presented in the patch notes, and I would appreciate it if, in the future, you might explain certain parts better. These are some examples of the areas I'm having difficulty in."
I don't know about you, but I'm a scholar of the English language. I was able to read the patch notes just fine. Personally, I think you're just splitting hairs for the sake of splitting them.
So will this be published tomorrow, or what?
i hope thats what it means, wow loooooooooooooooong over due, imagine how differently large fights would have turned out in despise if this was fixed years ago...
also i dunno what they mean traded items can't be unravelled... but i don't like the sound of it
I think this anwsers the question "Why is there no Users Manual for Windows."
Well what you said and the fact that Microsucks can milk more money from you with their courses lol.
We could make a 5 on friday just from this thread...
Ever fixed loose ethy mount when you die...
honestly i think your just grasping at things to complain about here..let it go!
and if it really took you more then a second to figure it out! then that is another issue........
And how many years did it take?
The thing i want to know is when they say Weapon Damage is being tweaked, is that the durability issue or amount of damage it does?
Mine stay with me, is that a bug??? lol
Verite Plate armor is medable.
At least the sammie plate is.
But I see your point. The reason I dont wear things like Jackal's Collar is it is not medable. Would be nice if it was, or the Honor suit was, or even the crafted wood suit for elves. Would love for that to be medable.
But I would love to wake up in the morning and see money growing on trees. Would be nice but aint gonna happen i dont think.
Logged into TC1 and I get some sort of silly message about not being old enough for the reward.
Kinda dorky to deny me a 144 month reward when the account is 146 months old, dontcha think?
This will be corrected before Nov 8, right?
Test showed for me pub 57 and got nothing for a ticket, is it on test right now for any one else.
