What's old is new again! I have seen Ultima Online mentioned more in the last 6 months in gaming news than I have in years. It feels like players are tiring of gaming on rails and looking at nostalgia or wanting to experience a side of gaming that they hadn't been exposed to as much with their previous titles. Even Everquest Landmark is tapping, in a HUGE way, into the housing freedom that only UO had done as well.

Shroud of the Avatar is a direct tap into UO, Star Citizen is branching off the Wing Commander nostalgia and doing it in ways that will amaze old and new players. So many are tossing the "UO-like" phrase around that it's good to remind the gaming community that UO is still here with an active community. Let's hope more news mean more eyes and more players that align with the vision Broadsword has in store this year too!
