Testing the new commands for pets on test centre

I tamed a bake kitsune and bonded it, had it passively following (all stop, all follow me)

all as intended, it ignored attacks till told to kill, it continued to autodefend against a second assailant, then it died. Ghost appeared, I led it off a bit (all stop, all follow me)

I rezed it and deliberately allowed it to get rez killed.

    NO GHOST!!

I then tamed a 2nd bake, bonded it, allowed it to die, rezed the ghost, let it get rezkilled, NO GHOST.#

Any tamers online please come help me test this.

So the effect is that after a "Bonded" pet dies once it never gets a 2cd ghost..
BIGGGGGG ISSUE.. Glad you cought that one. God job in testing. Keep trying thing so we work out these bugs before this hits a " SHARD NEAR YOU"

  3. ouch!
    fully healed after rez?
did you feed it? try that?
    ouch!
"bonded tag" still showing after rez, before death ?
    ouch!
    not good not good

Had a chance yet to cycle through other tameables?
how about the "stable bought" ones?
    Same ?

ow ow ow ow ouch @$#%**^$#@$$

I KNOW its early ... but
    hehehe
time to wake someone up ...

Not yet, I thought it best to post first and test further after, so I could get help. Many hands make light work!

And since you've asked a number of questions I hadn't thought of, I think that was probably a good decision [IMG]

Lesser hiryu: set to guard. Pet behaviour as expected. Allowed to die, rezed. Bonded tag still showing. Not healed, allowed to die again. No ghost.

bake kitsune: set to guard. Let it die, rezed and healed to half way, allowed to die. Got ghost.
Pet set to 'all kill' new target. Target locked on char, I invised. Pet DID NOT defend, died, no ghost.

Not sure I'm testing properly. I'll try to make sure which commands I'm using. I keep automatically using my normal 'follow' macro, which has 'stop' on it [IMG]

bug fix is estimated to be in place in about 3 years.

but till then good catch petra. I just tested the same thing and your not going crazy, its working just like you said. tamed, bonded, died, rezzed, died again and gone.

    More testing:

pet told 'all follow me', no 'stop', pet autodefended, allowed to die, rezed.

Char invised. Pet went into PASSIVE MODE, this is not what we were told would happen.

I think it's pets in passive mode disappear. Off to catch another pet.

If this makes it onto production shards my pets aren't leaving the stable!

    Confirming, it's passive mode.

Pet told 'all follow' autodefends, dies and leaves ghost.
Pet told 'all kill' dies and leaves ghost
Pet told 'guard me' dies and leaves ghost
Pet told 'all stop, all follow me' does not defend itself, dies, no ghost
Pet with owner invised, regardless of last command issued, does not defend itself, dies with no ghost.

    Please check my findings?

  8. wow... I'm glad you found that one on TC. There would have been a LOT of mad tamers if that went live.

  9. It sounds like the passive mode pets are using the same logic that necro familiars do. The problem is that necro familiars are designed to go poof when they die. I think the fix will be just a matter of the devs putting a little logic around the death code to make it only go poof if it isn't a bonded pet.

Did your pet leave a corpse when it went poof?

no, or at least, only momentarily.

Good news is, death of owner breaks passive mode, they do defend and they do leave a ghost.

amendment to 'invised', if the pet has been told 'all kill' it will leave a ghost.

I think it may depend on at what point the 'all kill' command is given, the first pets I lost had been told 'all kill', but not until they were well down in health.

    my mistake.

Told 'all kill' will leave a ghost.

oh and pet dying because client mysteriously disappears with no error message seems to leave a ghost too *coughs*

Thank you Petra, everyone! Being looked into right now.

  12. Holy cow... THANK YOU for finding this one, Petra! Of course you probably caught the dev's secret solution to the great "tamers are overpowered in pvp" debate. [IMG]

And thank you Draconi for getting it looked at. I hope they get it fixed. Now..wheres the cocoa trees? And the event? [IMG]

Just a quick question, Petra! After the pet disappears and leaves no ghost, do you still show followers on your character gump? IE... 3 for beetle, 2 for mare, 5 for superdragon, etc? I'm curious if the pet is gone for good or relocated elsewhere, somehow.

no, it's gone, no ghost and no body either. The body appears just for a moment and then disappears.

I was fighting tsuki wolves went straight round the bushes to tame another kit, while riding a mare. If it had still been in existence I wouldn't have been able to, not enough slots.

So would it help if I moved cooking onto my tamer? She does help with the gardening if that helps too. [IMG]

Many thanks Draconi, Jeremy and the rest of the team.

I know I'm crazy, but I can't see my pets as 'just pixels' or 'the equivalent of a sword' I get fond of them, I'd be really upset if I lost any of them like this.

[IMG] My crafter still has her bugged squirrel because when it came to releasing him and training up a replacement I just couldn't do it.

[/ QUOTE ] Then that means the new seeds for the cocoa trees will be in TC within a week, and found only on greater dragons as loot.

I would love to come help. I would like to see if they fixed pet in GZ guarding you, someone walks up and paras you/ pet attacks them you get guard whacked.
Also are there going to be any changes to barding? Peace/disco to a tamers pet should flag you.

Can you put Pet Balls on TC tomorrow also. There are None on existing charaters, and if you make a new charater, there is none on them either.

    Rtlfc.
The guard whack exploit is still there.
Tamer in GZ with pet guarding them/ mage walks up and paralises em and yells guards/ tamer and pet gets flagged grey and guard whacked.

yeah, but at least the pet's ghost was there.

I agreed to test this. I had no idea what was going to happen, and I'm not sure I can post here what did happen, since posting of exploits isn't allowed.
