VAL HAMMERS / Dev Team

    When making weapons with a Valorite Runic Hammer the damage mod is not rolling as it should.

    The following images are examples.

    Image 1. Is how damage is rolling currently.

    Images 2 & 3 is how it should roll.

    Also I wouldn't purchase any Val hammers until this is fixed....

    I would hate to spend all that gold and get my dream kryss

    50 Fireball
    50 Hit Lower Defense
    50 Hit Lower Attack
    15 Hit Chance Increase
    15 Defense Chance Increase
    25 Damage Increase... wtf 25?:whip:

    Uh you have to rethink your thought process. :oops: Your Damage Increase is coming from the crafter having Arms Lore Not a Property from the hammer. :whip: Go ahead count your properties again. :p All the weapons have 6 properties counting the DMI. Don't ask the Devs its not broken, you are :scholar:

    You are wrong. Hammers have been broken for a long time. You are right in that the DMI comes from arms lore, the bug is that runic hammers strip it and you end up with only 25% DMI.

    Please understand what you are talking about before posting TYVM.

    Did you ever consider that is isnt broken but working as intended as? As in you get a chance at 5 properties with high intensities from a Val Hammer. Soo no you add in DMI from your amrs lore and you hammer rolls all 5 in the highest levels but you already have 40 DMI from your Amrs Lore - Not Intended, but there so the dice have to adjust somthing to compensate, and wala your DMI drops.

    Well maybe not inteded but still balanced?

    its not balanced its broken weins... if they added in a 2000k luck but inadvertantly lowered your taming by 60 you would say it was broke and get mad when others said it was just balancing it out... that is exactly what ur doing...

    I support this thread. People like weins201 should probably stick to what they know best and sit at Luna bank or something. If the DEVS intended for it to be 25 DI, they would have said so in any patch/publish notes. It's obviously broken and that's the difference between Valorite Runic Hammers and Imbuing. Val Hammers yield 40 DI and don't count as a mod.

    From what I've seen and heard - and done - it's not just Val hammers. I used some Shadow and Bronze and got the same deal, 25% DI. Someone said it had to do with hammers being combined.

    Yes you are right it's also effecting lower end runics.

    People have been mentioning it since the day after they broke it. Not one acknowledgement from the devs the entire time. But we have pianos... Priorities...

    One I never said anything about skills. and I am tired about your posts attacking me and my taming, I play All templates, focus.

    What I am and did say id look at the properties The first weapons has all 5 of its properties in the max range (higher than 95% the last two do not? Perhaps that is what is causing the break.

    No its bugged. Its treating them like it did years ago when arms lore wasnt took into account. Its not balanced its broken. Damage Inc is from smith and arms lore. Even vals have a chance to waste a mod and roll it to 50 instead of 40...

    I like crafting weapons from Val Hammers and I'm pretty sure you can't get the type of weapons I'm looking for with reforging.

    You are correct. When they screwed with reforging they broke the code.

    Way back when you used to get 20% DI from EX made weapons. At some point (like 2004ish) they upped it to 35% DI for EX made weapons. Then in the past 2 years you would get 5% added for 100 arms lore (scaled with 1% for every 20 arms lore). So any EX made weapon runic or not would have a MINIMUM of 40% DI. If you got a runic roll for DI it would have to go higher than 40% or not count as a roll/mod.

    Now, with one of the patches this year runic made weapons went back to 20% DI with the 5% arms lore for 25% WITH NO NOTICE in the patch notes.

    If this is 'intended' then they should list it in the patch notes. Since it was not listed - I would assume this was not intended and a bug.

    But of course I reported this at least 2-3 times as well as the other handful of decent smiths left in the game and it got absolutely zero response. Thread in Bug Forum

    Good thing I"m exclusively playing Diablo III now and not spending my time on this game. I have been meaning to shut my accounts as soon as I find someone to sell all this junk to.

    All runic hammers do the same base 25% DI ...it seemed to happen when reforging came out or maybe when the bribe system came out. I would be totally happy if it was fixed. I had a system down for making stuff....I'm hoping it's a mistake and not as intended. Fortunatley for me real life has been too busy to worry about it but FIX IT NOW!!!

    At least let us know if this is an error or as intended since some of us have been dying to get valorite hammers and with the bribe system we now have them but don't want to use them cause they might be broken and soon to be fixed. If it is as intended then I won't hold out hope that it will be fixed and burn them anyway.

    You DO know that there's this really nice BUG REPORT forum that is where you should be bringing this up, not U.Hall, and that Misk (one of the devs) has been answering bug questions like this like crazy for several days????

    Or, do you just like blathering about things in places where you KNOW it won't be heard, to get your marbl- I mean, monoliths off?

    sorry uo team i was just joking around,i think they try its just the game is so old when they try to fix/change some of these old systems it always messes something up,we just have to deal with it,or go play another game,id rather them work on new stuff

    Well hellfire and brimstone, I've not seen this bug report forum on Stratics...I am actually happy the OP posted this as I have a few val hammers on Atl server I was considering burning instead of selling. Thank you OP for the heads-up. :thumbup1:
