I dont know whats happened but i was well aware of the changes to vendor priceing but ive lost out on this BIG TIME.

My vendor was running with about 8m in total and only selling a few powerscrolls with some coins to highlight the best ones which i had. this was ticking over at about 24k a day with the items totaling around 4m.
I went to check my vendor again today (about 2 weeks since last check only has some hard to sell scrolls) anyway the charge per day was a wopping 650k!!.

I pulled all the powerscrolls off the vendor and left the coins on and the charge per day was at around 400k!!!

    What the hell!

On removing the coins one of them stayed like this.

Are there things im not aware of? or is this a bug? any info would be great!

  2. ouch!
uhg ...so THATS where all that armor and stuff i see ppl wearing now is coming from. *shakes head* sounds like a bug related to the new vendor penalty i guess. send them a bug report.

what did you have the price of the coin at when it was on the vendor.

this change is to stop people from being able to pull off items that are on their vendors for a lot of gold to skip out on vendor fees. they did this a few months ago on origin as a test then canned it for a bit and now went live on all shards with it. i think its a good idea and that maybe the problem you were having was with another issue. like maybe you had the coins listed for a lot of gold so that people wouldn't buy them or they listed for a lot of gold and you didnt realize it.

I'm having this happen with plants so it's not just high end items being affected.

The coins were put on my vendor at 2gp each.

Ive no problem with them taking steps to stop people skipping vendor fees but when it hits the people who are honest it really hurts.

Seinken i have no red chars. But if i did would that have caused this?

Hmmm, my stuff doesn't even show the "vendor penalty" words. Something new here I should know about?

    thx

it will show that when you pull the item off.
if that item is then put back on the vendor it will charge it the fee.

if the coins where only at 2gp the vendor fee is just way off hehe. glitch maybe

I picked up 100 bolts off the ground by the bank the other day and they won't go anywhere with my other bolts.... why because they have a 3 gold penalty.... kinda silly if you ask me.... hadn't thought to try separating them but if one has to pull them of one or two at a time to remove the "penalty" that would stink.

I pulled an Ophidian Slayer Spellbook off my vendor the other day for my own use. Was priced for 4000ish. It carried a penalty tag of 8gp on it ever since then. No big deal, 8 gold.
As a test I went back and put it on my vendor, marked it free, then took it off and the tag disappeared..course I paid the 8 penalty.

As I like to give books to players at times it is nice to know I can at least get rid of the penalty tag before I give it to them. Looks kinda tacky.
Here have a book! Just ignore the penalty tag that will be on it forever.

I wish there was a different way to do this.

I have some powerscrolls I've had on my vendor for over a month now. I just removed them a few minutes ago and they have a penalty anywhere from 20-60gp. Not that bad, but I thought you were only supposed to be penalized until the first vendor pay after you put an item on if it's after the 30 minute grace period when you remove it.

Kinda sucks having to pay extra to reprice something that's been on the vendor for so long.

Its nice to see im not the only one having issues.

This new system really has issues. I wish they would totally revise the vendors make them a little more controlable.

I dont see why there should be a vendor penalty for low priced items. If the new system was intended to stop people getting out of paying surely those people would be removing items which maybe cost over 1m. I dont see the point in penalizing people who sell everyday stuff like recall scrolls or deco which barely gets over 5k.

Id like to see a system where for items say over 1m more options are available to tag label set prices maybe even how much to lower the item by per day. You could also implement options when putting the item on the vendor so you can say you wish the item to remain on the vendor for 5 weeks once youve clicked ok if you remove the item early you will be charged there and then for the full time period.

but this systems really starting to get on my nerves ive a few more items now stuck with the penalty label which have been on my vendor for a few weeks. Why should i get a penalty for an item thats been on my vendor more than 24 hours?

It's not really a "vendor penalty". You're paying for the last day (or part of the last day) the item was on your vendor. It really wasn't fair that people were completely avoiding vendor fees by pulling items off their vendors each day.

I took 3 - 300k items off my vendor Last night and placed them in a secure trunk. All 3 still list a vendor fee. Not cool.

HEy here sa silly question dose the vender withdraw gold from your bank to pay for this exstortion better stil can you just drop the vender if its a no rental charge vender i cant evn get in game right now is this gona break my mules bank acount?

Agreed. My items have been on my vendors for weeks and I was adjusting DOWN. No, the fees aren't that bad, but we aren't supposed to be charged after 24 hrs., nor should lower end/priced items be penalized. I mean seriously, a penalty charge for a cactus that I'm LOWERING the price on?

I had a Misc vendor with random junk on it I don't want. Basically lower level Doom/Tokuno stealables with the most expensive item around 3k. No one had purchased from her in weeks. Instead of bothering with dropping prices and dealing with the penalty, I just let her daily fees run out.

I think their attempt at Vendor Fees implementations is just FUBAR but they haven't yet acknowledged it because they are are busy with the invasions, lag and so on...

Don't be surprised to see the Vendor Fees code removed in the next patch because it's simply not working as designed and they haven't figured out how to address it yet.

Just my humble opinion, but what do I know?

Sounds pretty smart to me. I can't imagine they would leave it as it is. I have to tell you guys I totally saw a guy at Luna bank trying to tell folks his spellbook was rare because it had that penalty tag and selling it for 5 mil lol

The other day I stocked kegs of potions on my vendor. Later in the day, I realized I was out of poison potions for tending my plants, so just grabbed a keg off the vendor. I expected the keg of pots to be tagged with a vendor penalty, and it was. Surprisingly, though, the empty keg still carried the vendor penalty tag and price. I refilled the keg, and it still displays the vendor penalty. It's not the amount of the penalty that concerns me ... it's the fact that the keg has completely changed twice .. gone from a full keg of greater poison to an empty keg to a full keg of greater cure, and it isn't recognized as something entirely different.

  20. Why not just charge a "tax" on each item sold ?

I don't know exactly how people were cicumventing getting charged but I just have menial things on my vendor and I feel like she is going through money like a mad woman! I'm half tempted to do it the old style way and sit at the bank to sell my wares. It's mostly arrows anyway. This ridiculous cost for using a vendor is a huge waste of money if no one comes by in a week lol

The problem is with vendor fees in the first place. Instead of vendor fees the system should have been set up to take 10 or 20% from the sales price of the item when the item actually sells. Having a daily fee for a vendor was just asking for trouble.

But your way would give people huge amounts of "Free" storage becuase they could either set no sales price or prices so high no one would buy... and store endless stuff on the Vendors instead.

The reason those bolts wont stack with others is because they were made with a different kind of wood. They wont show the wood type when made however but they wont stack. Most people make bolts/arrows from regular wood. But if you make some with oak or ash etc. they wont stack with regular wood made bolts/arrows.

I noticed and sent a bug report about the items pre publish being taken off a vendor for whatever reason haveing a penalty tag even if it was on the vendor for months prior to this new thing. personally i find that the evasion of vendor costs to be quite a bother and though i did do it a coupple times back when i could barely afford the cost from one day to the next (not that rich a player yet) it was a real bother to do it regularly to save the pittance of gold i was trying to save. though when some ppl sell stuff for 10's 100's of million gold then i can understand the need.

I like the % deducted on sale idea though a daily vendor (they need a cost of living paycheck also) of 1000 gold or something would be nice (though i do understand they would make storage possible though look at how many store bods as it is so if you want to pay a daily fee to store extra stuff i think would be a handy idea to put in.

  27. I had vendors not far from Luna On The Road near the white bridge. I see no more reason to have one. I am paying more than they are worth. Mine only helped the people that was not in the game long and was good priced for what they was. Just not what most long time players would want.

I don't see any reason to even host them.

ugh... why not just STOP vending charges? doesn't make any sense or serve any purpose.

i mean, if they just HAVE to charge a "tax" of some sort (no taxation without representation!), why not just charge a sales tax rather than a "stock tax"?

if an item is set at 1,000,000, when it sells, tax it at 5% or whatever...

i've never understood the stupid daily charge BS anyway. worried that people will use vendors for storage? well, duh, they do it anyway. and what's the harm?

i say end the tyranny of the daily vendor charges instead of making it MORE f'd up than it already is!

The vendor changes are stupid. They penalize ALL vendor owners now, not just the few who were taking advantage of the system. Until these changes were implemented, I didn't even KNOW people were doing that, and I've run a large shop since 1999! Maybe I was just ignorant, but it makes no sense to penalize all of us, especially with a system that isn't working the way it was meant to! With all of the real issues that need to be fixed in the game, why concentrate on this?
