  1. Budget Template. I used to have a Vamp but i dont like it very much

    110 mace
    110 tact
    110 bushido
    110 parry
    60 necro
    80-100 ss
    80 chiv

So wraith form probably with a +mana suit and decent hci/dci and maybe FC/FCR
my only issue is Regs. How many regs do you usually grab for a doom run etc?
and would the Tokuno Fans be a good wep choice?

  2. anyone? or is a Sampire really that much better?

  3. I run both. Right now my Wraith is in Doom.

I can easily solo all 5 rooms. I just keep Curse Weapon active and I use Counter Attack a lot.

Wriaths loose the additional damage reduction of an armored swampy. They (normally) loose bandage healing. Also get poisoned a lot more.

The biggest addition is a solid Curse Weapon, and a constant (depending on target) supply of mana.

Each has it's ups and downs. Each has to be played differently. My Vamp is an easier build to play with less interaction. My Wraith needs more inputs from me. But both are very capable templates.

The big thing with wraith form is it lets you get a different weapon.

My Sampire has 0 LMC, 0 MR and handles everything fine with a high mana leech weapon. But sometimes finding an uber wep with mana leech is hard. So if say I am fighting a dark father, I just go into wraith form and use a blackthorns kryss. It swings uber fast and does around the same damage as my nasty Ornate(non demon slayer), yet has no mana leech, so im fine in wraith form. Do about 60-100 dmg a shot on DF(constant LS) and have curse wep up at all times(i'm 100 SS).

Wammy is better... I run 3/3 casting (for a .5s curse weapon).

  6. I run Protection for a never fail Curse Weapon [IMG]

do you use lrc or just bring a crapton of regs?

  8. and what template would you recommend?

    Wep
    Necro
    SS
    Tact
    Anat
    Bushido
    Parry?

  9. Regs. Pig Iron is my friend.

  10. Me too, I usually carry 50 pig iron on a short trip (aka not-a-peerless) and 15-20 of everything else, since I think it's fun to arbitrarily wither groups or strangle an annoying lesser creature to death.

    My template is:
    115 mace
    115 bushido
    115 parry
    110 spirit speak
    100 tactics
    90 necromancy
    70 chivalry
    75 anatomy

I always wear a +15 necromancy/+15 mace fighting ring, a talisman of +5 necromancy/+10 spirit speak and a bracelet with +15 necromancy, which accounts for the much-more-than-720 skill points.

My current armor of choice is darkwood armor, but I'm considering changing to something that can take advantage of mace-and-shield (once I can afford it) glasses. My current favorite weapon is wind's edge, which always swings at max speed, no matter what my stamina is, but I also use a diamond mace with hit mana leech and hit lower defense on it. If I could find that mace with 25% swing speed increase, I'd kill my first born to get it.

I don't always stick to wraith form, sometime preferring vampire form, depending on the situation. I wouldn't try paragon balrons without the ability to run away and heal again (for example).

Even with the low-damage fans, I can still go from near 0 to max health in just two hits with curse weapon up, and the combination of curse weapon, EoO and honor is amazing. There are spawns where my normal samurai is hard pressed to stay alive and my necro samurai literally can't die if he's only auto defending and casting curse weapon every once in a while (like Miasma for example).

Anyway, the point. Reagents are good, and you don't have to carry them in large enough quantities that they're hard to get. In the very (extremely) rare occasion that I do die, I simply go to the magic shop in Haven and buy all new reagents while I'm waiting for my mana to go up enough to cast a form (which takes forever and a day if you're wearing darkwood suit and have no focus).

  11. I just wear a pair of Arcane boots on Connor. That's 20 times he can die and recast Vamp form before they need to be recharged, and if worse comes to worse, can always carry an Arcane Crystal at 1 stone for more charges.

Don't forget you can use Legendary made arcane cloak and robe also for 40 more charges! Don't forget to insure your clothes and you'll be good to go right away.

Now THAT is the best idea I've heard in a while... and so simple!

  14. my sampire DOES use arcanes

but wearing boots and cape and robe isnt much on a wraith

    60 spell levels isn't much?

I carry those 3 on my mage and if my regs get looted I can stay in the area a quite a while without re regging. I can't imagine a wraith casting first and second circle spells using up 60 levels too fast. Maybe necro spells use different charges then mage spells?

  16. Both of my fighting mages wear arcane boots so they can invis the second they're rezzed and don't have to wait to put LRC suits on. Helps a lot when you have to use a wandering healer and there's aggressive spawn around.

I solo everything in doom, Df is no problem. all the rooms are simply annoying to have to complete.

    I run a Sampire

    120 bush
    120 swords
    120 parry
    100 tactics
    70 Anatomy
    80 heal
    73 chiv
    37 necro

  18. When it comes to a choice of which skill to drop to keep spirit speak, most wraith users choose to drop healing, as spirit speak increases your healing from curse weapon (therefore "Solid curse weapon"), making the healing skill completely redundant. I eventually dropped healing on my wraith simply because I never once had to use it while I was training. Therefore, wraith loses bandage healing.

    Quick Question!

Which Weapons for a Wrammy, same like the ones for the Sampire?

    Hml, Hsl, ssi, di?

    Or Hll, Hsl, ssi, di?
Cause you get extra mana leech from the wraith form?

Sorry for dragging up a bit of an old thread here, I was just browsing and had a question about what is meant in the above quote...

Why would wraith form lose bandage healing?

And what do you mean by "The biggest addition is a solid Curse Weapon"?

    Cheers!

[/ QUOTE ]The template has full Necro and SS, instead of full Anat and Healing. So normally no bandage healing.
