We need an auto-open corpse option

    1) For the love of god can we get an "open all corpse" macro option, or at least an option to open corpses as soon as they appear if in range. I farm imbuing mats in Abyss a lot and I swear I spend more time looting than actually killing trying to sort through a massive stack of corpses. Of course since mini-spawns constantly spawn new mobs as you kill them until the renowned this ends up with me killling the new ones on TOP of the stack of bodies i'm already having problems trying to sort through. Yes I know about CTRL+SHIFT all that does is show the name tabs which are just as big of a mess as the actual corpses in EC.

    And whose idea was it to have an opened corpse appear right in the middle of the screen so every single one I open up I have to move before I can see anything to open another? I probably miss as many essences as I collect due to this. Sometimes bodies decay before I can get to them or because I just never saw them.

    2) How about an option to set a loot bag? IE anything you right-click to loot goes to the bag you designated instead of your backpack. This would make sorting through armor/weapons and collecting in general much easier.

    Not sure if this helps, but u can go to options interface(the mouse looking tab in upper right corner) and put a check by "offset interface windows rather than perfectly stacking them". that way at least u can tell when u opened new corpse

    none the less. There needs to be an open corpse button...or have the corpse open up automatically. I would also like for an option to be installed where you can choose where the corpse opens up. For example. I kill said monster, loot and close out of the gump. I would like the next gump to appear in that same spot so I don't have to click and drag the kill box over to my back pack....just a little annoyance on my part.

    I think this would be a good option, but I think it would have to be a toggle.

    I can see the complaints now: "Stupid auto open corpse opened up a corpse right over X that i was targeting. Now I am dead. Could we please get rid of the stupiod auto corpse opening already!!! How many people have to die because of this?"

    OMG this would be an awesome feature I spend forever looting. And at EM Events I usually dont get anything cause between all the dead bodys of the monsters you have the dead bodies of the chars and control shift and your entire screen is covered and you cant see the screen. Additionally, this would be another reason for the ones that use the auto looter script to stop using it and go legit.

    YES,both points are 100% necessary..
    the last change for looting in EC was a big backstep :(
    it is a pian now....
    also, open bags jumping all over the screen is BS... devs give us an option that container/loot bags ALWAYS open on the same place

    I think 2 things are needed.... a target option.... for targeting corpses... some kind of toggle.... to open them would be nice...

    And a setting where you can say .... "Always open new window cascade here" and Target spot.

    because really there is nothing more irritating than having every window you open randomly cascade throughout your screen.

    Get an autolooter for your client like 75% of UO has :p

    But no, I agree, its a serious hassle and they really should adress this.

    I had been annoyed by the clutters of openned corpse until I made changes in the option interface (mentioned in the 2nd post) - uncheck the "offset interface windows ". Now all the corpse openned and overlapped at upper right corner of my screen. Clicking the name of a corpse bring it to the top.

    This should not be off the first two pages.

    Unless I need to get my eyes checked this is a classic option only, doesn't exist in EC.

    i made a macro to "target nearest object" and then "use current object" i think thats it. It will open the nearest corpse. But you have to be right on top of it or you might target something else. (you should be able to make this macro in EC). I wish Legacy had a right-click-to-loot like the enhanced Client does, its such a hassle to click and drag off of every corpse.

    You can already do this in EC.

    Target Nearest
    Use Targeted Object

    You can add in knives to skin it as well, there is not an autoloot option yet.

    No. Well yes.. technically this macro is supposed to do that. Unforunately it doesn't work because it targets things that aren't corpses and if you're standing on a stack of 10 corpses and hit it, it will just keep trying to open the same one.

    Sorry that macro isn't doing a thing to help you in this situtation:

    You are correct only a 1,000 clicks will get you into that stack.

    not that those whom use this `only for pvm` mosters that they kill have any real impact on anyone other than themselves ingame,,,but it would be nice to see this put ingame..obviosly for those in the know,,know it can be `easily added` to the game as apparently `ametuer programers` made it work for the `free version` of UO that they play.

    I would like to see a set of options that you can choose to autoloot such as gold, ingredients, reagents, etc.

    I'm not sure autolooting items from the corpse is necessary, that's going a bit too far towards scripting territory.

    Just the open corpse please.

    Actually its just moving UO into the realm of more modern MMOs.

    Don't you guys understand that the current looting system was born with the birth of UO? Back then it made sense, there was not much different loot and you didn't need so much of it to make a difference. As items were unidentified, you generally hauled back all items you thought were of usable types and then ID'ed them afterwards. Also characters were a lot weaker, so you generally didn't fight so many monsters at the same time, thus didn't have dozens of corpses to loot every 5 seconds.

    This just doesn't work right in todays UO...too much loot, too many properties on items, too much gold needed, too many mobs you fight.

    Last thing I need is the UO autoloot going off when I'm stealthing around thus revealing me.

    No sorry, there are no modern MMOs that let you designate which items you want to autoloot from a corpse and which you want left on it.

    The rest of your post was just gibberish considering i'm the one that started the thread in the first place.

    Actually some do to a degree, heck even in WoW (especially with the right mod).

    But also UO is the only MMO that has so incredibly much crap on the corpses of mobs.

    How the hell is it gibberish when its not directly related to your topic of opening corpses, but a tangent to it? I guess you weren't around for the old days and as such don't know how it was.

    Not just loot bags, but paper dolls as well. I've died several times because the paper dolls open up where I like my health bar to be and covers it. It always opens in the same place, but I'd like it to open in a place that I choose, so I can choose a spot where it won't cover up anything important, and I can put my health bar back in what is the best spot for me.

    Then 99% you either don't really loot anything, you script or only do high end mobs for specific items. (funny enough, there's a poster named "Vertigo" on the script forum)

    Of course it wouldn't autoloot if you were stealthing or hiding.

    Something like this would also work great at events, when you die and theres a sea of corpses finding your body can take forever.

    I do most of my hunting on Solens, Terathans, Dreads, Trogs and Demons. You know, things that spawn in crazy abundance.

    I would LOVE to have a macro to auto open corpses. I have one (I use EC) that will target /use nearest then target/use next/next/next, but it gets very cumbersome. It only opens as many as you put in the macro and if you run it again you end up opening the same ones over again.

    An open all bodies in range macro would be awesome, as well as a loot bag, hotsell bag, and dress/undress bag. (I don't ask for too much do I?)

    Up until recently it was possible to have an enhanced client macro to open the nearest however-many corpses fairly quickly. Now it seems you need a delay of a whole second between opening each corpse or the macro won't work properly.

    That would be fine if the macro could open the most recent corpse first, or differentiate between corpses and blood smears, but it doesn't. It is now again a needlessly tedious process which is probably ten times slower than the classic client + 3rd party looters.

    Mind you this is merely opening corpses, not picking through the loot which illegal looters would probably accomplish before you've even opened the right corpse in enhanced client.

    It seems the development thrust of the enhanced client is now to make it as sluggish and laborious to use as the classic client sans scripting. So much for enhancement.

    When I am on EC, I use three buttons I have set-up.
    One target nearest object.
    Two target next object.
    Three use targetted object.

    This gets me through a pile of bodies in a flash.
    My biggest peeve is that if I use the target nearest object too fast after killing a monster, I target the blood smear of the monster I just killed.
    Not too much of a worry though because I just hit target next target.
    Though I wish there was an ignore this target in the future button so I wouldn't open up corpses I already checked.

    Or even just a simple option for /hidecorpselooted

    This way even if you have a pile of corpses once one is looted it will disappear from view (turn it off with /showcorpseall if you want the bodies to display again for skinning or something you forgot to do that you wanted). A way to distinguish a corpse from any other object such as blood would be needed first but I would be happy to see these 2 little things then at least the loot macros we make would work

    You know what humors me LC? I always had you pegged as a cheater even though you always used to blatantly deny it, as I recall, whenever I saw you respond to any inquiries or declarations that you were. Maybe you haven't admitted it recently, but I'm as convinced as I ever was that you abuse UO (and everyone involved with it) by cheating... no offense really, just bumping a pretty decent idea and sharing a thought that I've recently been more convinced is true... just calling a spade a spade (I appreciate honesty, no matter how much I might disagree with certain activities, like cheating)...
    note to everyone: it is often better to trust your initial instincts, especially if your initial instincts tend to be correct ;)
     
  34. This is an awesome idea. If not auto-open, then please make a macro for "Open New Corpse within 2-3 Tiles". Or even, "Open ALL corpses withing 2-3 tiles".
