I haven't done the upgrade to SA yet so I haven't started imbuing yet but got a bit of a taste of what I've been missing.
To feed my tinkering to begin with I wandered to the local tinker shop and bought me 6 shovels. With those I made a nice path along the mountain and by the time I had mined 700 ore I had already brought that skill up past 60.
The ingots collected were turned into many tinker kits which I used to complete some heartwood quests.
This brought me a few recipies many of which will find their home on a vendor one day.
Two hours down has brought tinkering, mining, and arms lore over 65.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully will see a few more people but we will see.

    Good Night All,
    Mersiphious

Just a second (or third) thought about arms lore. This is just my thoughts, personally, i would raise arms lore too, but i don't use arms lore when i imbue my stuff like armor and weapons. The extra 10 points in damage increase is for GM arms lore equals about 1 extra point of damage and alot of my higher end weapons i've imbued i've actually had to lower damage increase to around 20 anyways to get the maximum weight out of my weapon. Pretty much the same when imbuing armor, i go for less starting weight on the armor piece by not using GM arms lore so i can maximum weight when imbuing. Most of my armor pieces will require raising resist slots well above what GM arms lore will give you anyways. So i stone arms lore when i craft armor/weps. Then i imbue whatever stats on the weps/armor. Then put arms lore back on and then attempt to enhance weps/armor for maximum weight potential. Of course enhancing an item with extremely high weight will result in an incredibly high failure rate, but with the forged metal tool tou have a 100% chance of success with any crafting skill. As far as raising imbuing goes, unravel everything you get from loot. keep the stuff that you cant unravel yet until your skill is high enough, then unravel saved items. Or you can buy a couple thousand of each gem (which i recommend) and imbue something like luck onto a cheap wep to craft, like a dagger. If you had mining you could smelt the daggers, then craft new ones and reimbue. Rinse, repeat and always keep your imbuing success rate around 40-60% for maximum gains. If you've read the siege boards, you'll see that RoT has no daily cap, so raise all your skills at once. Once you're into RoT, its a breeze... Sorry such a long post, hope this helps... :)

When it comes to armour crafting, a piece of armour crafted with Arms Lore which will have more resists does not increase the weighted properties.
I just tested this because I was intrigued. Made a barbed armour part with Lore and one without. The Arms Lore Part had +7 more resists. Both parts had identical imbue chances for every identical property imbued and weights remained identical. By using Arms Lore you would have (on a barbed suit) up to 42 (6x7) more resists across your armour with no additional weighting thus saving 42 points worth of additional imbuing.
I would highly recommend using Arms Lore to craft your armour. In fact if you are making armour and you have Arms Lore, use it. You are doing yourself no favors by not using it.

In terms of weapons it makes no odds as you can imbue well above the DI bonus that Arms Lore gives you. You get DI regardless of Arms Lore and modifying it does not add a property. If I am imbuing weapons I generally Imbue DI down to 1% to ensure the highest success rate with other imbues, then I push DI up last with remaining weight points.

Not sure if I do it wrong or not, but I craft with armslore and in barbed leather saving the most unbalanced pieces, ie those that have one really low resist - 4 or 5.

I don't save those myself but you are doing it absolutely right in my opinion. By doing that a single resist imbue can plug a significant gap. I would do that on a normal shard when I am trying to maximise everything optimally.

Well tinkering, arms lore and mining are at ROT.
Started working my tailoring now, special thanks to a certain gentleman for purchasing some of my ingots for well over my asking price.
This got me my first blue beetle which has been some help.
I'm not the fastest miner in the world but will try to fill any iron ingot orders anyone has.
Side note; if anyone has a +5 mining gloves for sale please contact me.

Mersiphious, here are some things you can do to train inscription that don't require you to use a lot of regs:

    • Copy a book to another book using inscription skill until you're around 40 or so.
    • Make 2nd and 3rd circle scrolls to 50.
    • Using wood pulp that a cook made from bark fragments (obtained by GM lumberjacks), make blank scrolls from 50 until you stop getting regular gains (or hit RoT at 70.1). (You need 60 cooking skill to make wood pulp from bark fragments. One bark fragment gives one wood pulp and you get 5 blank scrolls per wood pulp/bark fragment.)
    • Make 6th and 7th circle spells as you work through RoT.
And you might want to think about getting SA by the time you GM tailoring and smithing because there are some new items from that expansion that are great for getting to 120 tailoring and smithing and don't use much in the way of resources: cloth gargoyle armor for tailoring and boomerangs/glaives for blacksmithing.

Ill be grabbing up SA once I get my other skills to 70. Imbuing is last on the list :)
I'm not going to invest in soulstones for a lil while so I'm starting with:
    Arms Lore
    Inscription
    Magery
    Mining
    Tailoring
    Tinkering
    And Imbuing
