Say we get some player love from the devs and they work on things that we actually want and ask them to work on. Things we want them to change, fix or add to the game.

Can we please leave out requests for a classic shard and the EC vs. CC arguments?

-Find and fix the EC crash bug
-Graphical updates, you know, the ones now currently on the back burner
    -house tiles
    -terrain art
-make stacked item graphics look double stacked, in the EC, like they do in the classic client
-Finish/Add the missing tiles to the house customization tool
-Make all GM crafted tools have 100 uses or 200 uses, you see what I mean
-Make PoF able to be combined or stacked
-Make new accounts start with 720 skill points
-Please improve the dragon artwork in the EC and scale in general
-Make BOD books occupy one slot
-Increase spawn rate of rare colored wood
-Add a tool to up the quality of wood similar to how the prospector's tool works for mining
-Increase the success rate of smelting rare ore or simply remove the reduction alltogether like it is for logs go boards.
-Increase wood production to more than just one board per log
-fix the tinkering sound when crafting an item, c'mon swords sound, who chose that
    -Tinker runic tool
    -Refresh the BOD rewards
-Refresh the collection rewards and make it so it's not only the scripters who can successfully utilize the collections
-Add a few more stable slots for everybody

    -Vendor search
-Increase the limit on Co-owners a house can have
-Allow items to be Altered into another item that occupies the same armor slot, i.e. mempo into a gorget or eyeglasses into a plate helm
-Make metal armor useful again - give us a benefit / reason to wear metal instead of leather armor
-Revamp some of the legacy tamable pets

What else would anyone like to add?

None of these changes are important or desired for me.

Increase success rate... increase spawn rate colored wood... more rewards... more slots.. wow man, this game must be ultra hard for you.

I asked tho for you to add the things you would like to see smart ass.

The collective "we" is lucky if it's available to agree on the day within a 24-hour margin of error...

    But, just for kicks:

    1) Finish the EC, including:
1A) Making Legacy client functions actually functional (ie: pointer, et cetera)
1B) Improving graphical resolution with UO graphics, not with the hideous KR graphics
1C) Adding FULL LUA support and allowing more than 1 add-on at a time without needing an add-on to make multiple add-on support possible
1D) Hiring a real UI designer who understands that UIs should never be designed by the programmers
    2) Unified quest system... no more Quests from year X operate differently than qUESTS from yEAR Y operate differently from QuEsTs from YeAr Z, et cetera
    3) A real new player experience that doesn't rely on homogenizing the new player experience...
3A) Assume most new players have no idea what a skill-based system is and teach it
3B) A mage's new player experience should not be so similar to a warriors new player experience that you can't tell the difference
    4) De-interlink some of the skills that were interlinked for the hell of it (seriously, Imbuing and Mysticism? Why not Glassblowing and Magery FTW?!?!?!?!?!)
4A) Remove skills that are useless or give them use, but stop putting in tidbit uses for them, ala "Here's a silly reason to GM Forensic Evaluation."
    5) Instead of just "revamping" the dungeons, add some new places to explore in them... We've all visited every hall there ever was to visit (save maybe some unknown super secret area in The Abyss that by now no one cares about and is so grossly hidden it's unlike we'll ever find it anyway)...
5B) Give us Khaldun Level 2... place always felt like there was more to it anyway... give us more...
5C) For that matter, places like Deceit felt like there were places left to explore... just that no one could get to them...
    6) Vendor search, even if by subzone... Don't give us a way to buy from a one-off interface, but do give us a way to easily locate such vendors
    7) Just bring every skill up to 120 and then increase the point pool to 800... I mean, seriously, 120 was a dumb idea in the first place... for skills that have it, things were stretched to make 120 the new 100, but now you have silly little games to play with skill points
    8) Make item properties make sense to the average player... on a character sheet, let us know how much total mana regen we're wearing, and what that does, such as "Mana Regen 8, increases mana regeneration rate by approximately 52% of normal regen rate." While that may not tell us exact numbers, when we equip a total of 9 and it switches to 53% normal regen rate, we know we're getting less of a return; this guessing at what item properties do and how much we're wearing is silly
8A) Yes, yes, I know I can find out some of that in the EC... so finish the EC and then make it MORE useful

Yeah... this could go on forever...

Just hire me, and I'll fix the damned game.

If they ever increase the skill cap total then it should be done with power scrolls, such as put normal power scrolls in tram and a rare chance for +5 to total skill cap, then put total skill cap scrolls in fel. How high to go is something to work on but also these would be rarer and not the always 12 thing to be farmed. Scroll binders would work also with them.

    That reminds me...

666A) Just blow up Felucca already... seriously, they could all go play on Siege Perilous, which would give Siege a much needed boost, and we could end the silly "Here's yet another reason to come to Felucca that approximately 2.3 'trammies' care about" development that goes on in the game.

    Okay, okay, I jest.

    Mostly.

    I think.

My big one is finishing the graphics update like they said they were. There is no reason why live events should overtake a large update that is sorely needed.

    But:
    Hire Pinco! http://vboards.stratics.com/uo-enhanced-client-discussion/259283-new-background.html

Dear god yes, because most people coming to UO as completely new players and who are used to other MMOs is going to have a difficult time wrapping their heads around a skill-based sandboxy MMO.

Oh the list I could make...

    • Fix the crash in the EC, as well as the memory leaks.
    • Fix the ugly hiryu in the EC so it's not looking like a sick chicken.
    • Don't put of the Graphics updates to the EC.
    • Make more things stack ingame. I am sure by now there is a list 2,000 items long on what needs to be stackable.
    • Fix more stuck spots in the game. There are still area's where monsters spawn where they can't be attacked.
    • Fix the Dragon in the EC he's got an inferiority complex because he's been shrunk to pocket dragon size.
    • Add more co-owners to the housing menu... now that we can finally be co-owned to a decent number of houses houses now need to accommodate more co-owners.
    • Add in all the 100's of missing tiles to the housing menu and while your at it fix up the tiles that are existing.
    • Give the housing menu sand tiles and edging tiles and some rounded tiles to work with the rounded walls.
    • Fix factions.
    • Add a new crafting skill called Alteration. Allow crafters to work up skills using items in game that currently have little to no use... but spawn all over anyway like deadwood. Allow items to be altered from say a Mempo to a gorget, or a leaf Gorget.... so long as it is in the same "slot". Allow the crimson cincture to be a woodland belt.... and allow it to be changed back. Tired of the one way altering for gargoyles too. Things need to work in reverse as well. Infact I think that Alteration should be more specific. Such as you can only gain it in one area. Like Blacksmithing, or Tailoring but not both. This would give crafters a specialization. Also have alteration for Tinkering and carpentry as well as fletching.
etc...... I could go on and on and on.... but I think I'll quit... others had some awesome points too.

    No.

Fel doesn't need another economy-breaking item that less than 5% of the population will pee themselves to control. Fel has enough item lures that haven't worked. Its long past time on giving up on trying to draw people (who have little to no interest in PvP) to Fel with the potential to get something. It. Doesn't. Work.

Instead, FIX the myriad broken aspects of PvP and seriously reduce the effect of items. Actual skill should always trump items and JOAT. Nix the ease with which people exploit, and/or police the hell out of players. Give offenders a warning or two, then drop-kick them to the curb.

    *coughs*

I really have to wonder what the truth behind that announcement was.

Seriously, unless there are a plethora of new items needing art for this arc, it shouldn't have affected Grimm's schedule at all. Sure, getting the new art into the client will require a engineer's time to tweak and such. But...shouldn't all of this have been scheduled months in advance? Do they not know anything about project management and ameliorating scope creep?

Simple logic would dictate that you tackle one project at a time when history has demonstrated a proven inability to multitask.

All that Ezekiel said plus making fishing worth the effort. Concept good but there need to be a reason to use pies and they should stack. A reason to use baits, namely now and then get a fish of the same sort as the bait.

And ofcourse New player experience revamp. Basic equipment and clear and simple information about the basics. Long ago this was exiteing to find out with not much info. But it wasnt as complicated as now, and the land was loaded with people as new or a bit more experienced to hang out with. Now the new people are mostly arriving one by one and Haven is most often empty.

720 skill cap for all accounts.

    Undo the itemization and powercreep.

If not, then increase power of metal armor, at the moment every other type of armor has more resists and/or a free property.

    Fix the ugly EC graphics.

Fix the buggy and missing house tiles.

    • Power scrolls/stat scrolls (+25)
    • Double resources
    • Primeval Lich/Abyssal Infernal
    • Increased Shame (now Wrong) loot power
    • etc.
None of these things have brought great numbers of players into Fel. Some do venture in, but these incentives don't keep them there. Simply put, non-consensual PvP isn't most people's cup of tea and nothing is going to change that. Dangling a carrot on a stick over a pool of piranha is just wasting a carrot.

My idea was not to draw people to fel but to give pvpers something new, and it was only a suggestion. I do agree with you that was why I said that it was possible in tram too, just was rare.

If you make it "less rare" in Fel, it falls into the 'incentive' category. Why make anything less rare in Fel if not to a) draw people there b) give yet another monetary reward to PvPers. 'A' doesn't work, and 'B' is just a bad idea.

    How about :

High Res Art for both clients

    oh.. yea!!

Fixing the script heavy system of resource farming (literally, farming with dozens of accounts).

Simple fix : Set an account bound max that can be mined/lj'd in a day. It can't be char bound, since it's easy to just switch shard, or switch char. Games like Runescape have implemented systems like this in the past for similar easy to exploit systems.

Fixing selling non-stackable crafted items to an NPC for endless profit, (aside from recalling to different vendors)

What else do we actually need...

I think Ezekial hit it right with everything but the Vendor Search. If after that last thread people still fail to see why this is a nail in the coffin idea , I'm talking to a wall. The programmers of this game have to be able to quickly see how easy with the state of both clients this would be to manipulate and actually destroy commerce, but that's for brighter minds and people focused on exploitation. Alas, I'm sure people with far more posts have much more to say :)

The memory leak. Which I'm sure causes the desktop crashes.

    Artwork updates.

Anything new to explore. I like the idea of opening closed off parts of dungeons that RaDian had.

And of course anything that would bring new players.

I don't know for the devs but I'd really wish the designers worked on a different game.

Because you mages, warriors, pvpers are very lucky in that you have alternatives, but we tamers have just this one: this is the only freaking game with taming.

And when you have in the hands the only game with taming in the known virtual world what do you do? Anti-tamer mobs. And the Skree.

You know, it isn't even their fault: when you suck at something, but really suck, like the gold medal in the olympic of suckyness, well, there's nothing you can do.

    Any bug, any exploit.

But if I could have just one wish come true, it would be for em to fix that damned aggro/logout thing. For years we been begging em for this fix. Nothing like recalling home on your crafter to get a char to go spawn on, having the mongbat that camps your steps all day jump ya, and then you have to sit out the timer...

I'm sure that at one time there had to be a reason for this, but I can see no reason at all we need it for the last umpteen years.

    so the consensus is:

    1) client fixes
    2) remove any challenge from the game
    3) remove pvp

So everyone wants an awesome interface to an MMORPG, that has no challenges, and does not require you to ever interact with another person...

Just remove the mmo aspect and play the sims?

I don't see anyone suggesting removing any challenge from the game, or for removing PvP from the game (save my own jest). If removing exploits that are used in PvP somehow equates to "challenge," then yeah, I guess all challenge should be removed.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that I have no idea what you're on about.

PowerScrolls & Stat Scrolls, sure as hell worked at bringing people into fel... they were only added what... 8-10 years ago though? most everyone has what scrolls they need now.

double resource? to be honest I don't remember the last time i saw any "real person" mining/LJing in fel OR tram for that matter... this must is 99.9% scripts anymore...

primeval lich & Abyssal infernal spawns, didnt work too well because you can exit the fel side into tram in less than 10 seconds running to the entrance of the spawn...

Shame and Wrong, more likely prolly wont work either. but not because there's a loot difference (there's pretty much no difference) except in TRAM, you can recall in & out of the dungeons which makes it soooooooo much faster.

Complete separation of PvP and PvE systems. I don't care how it's done but you can't make the game tougher on the PvE side in an item-based game without upping the stakes every few years or so. 125 HP does not a PvE system make. It makes a great PvP system but...

Go back in time and limit imbuing to 4 properties so I have a reason to hunt gear. Shame was almost a thing but not really. I can make everything I need to hit the needed caps.

    Baloney.

All that happened was a small percentage of the UO playerbase was allowed to dominate a very lucrative market and become filthy rich.

Powerscrolls didn't bring people to Felucca. The people in Trammel stayed in Trammel and bought the scrolls.

Putting the raised garden bed as a stand alone purchase

A real focus on streamlining the game, by that i mean remove the click fest its become. A perfect example is the number of clicks it takes to plant a seed, im sure overwatering or underwatering looks good on paper, but in reality its just a massive clickfest for no apparent reason, much like alot of things)

Id like to see some love for the CC client, like making it competative with the EC, bigger game screen, same macro system and other features. The clients should be a CHOICE not a dis/advantage.

Some kind of option/feature to make vendors whose packs are empty or full of empty containers to be invisable .. or replaced by a burning animation, maybe a dragon can appear and EAT THEM! Because lets face it, shopping is another clickfest that caused by people being lazy and not removing thier empty vendors making the whol experience tedious.

Its not just bugs that need addressing, its outdated features that have become a detriment to the basic idea behind why they were developedin the first place, due to many different reasons (like a lower populations and or inactive subscribers)

The challenge of UO is not just about how difficult the monsters are to bash.

Certain things shouldn't stack to make it more difficult to store. Therefore you must sell it, toss it, or use it. Imagine what the price of a POF will be when you can store a near infinite amount? BOD's being stored on vendors is a major fail. last I looked, you already get to store 5 bods for 1 secure spot in a house/bank/pack. You think that really needs to be taken one step further to be 500 for 1, but don't see how that removes a challenge from the game?

I have not chopped wood since they added the new types, nor have I mined since they randomized. I can't speak to the need for that, but can't help but point out that you are asking to make something easier.

As if imbuing didn't make it easy enough to get exactly what you want, you want to alter eyeglasses into a plate helm? You are really jumping the shark by any measure with that kind of example.

Revamp legacy pets? I don't think so, they are legacy for a reason, by definition they should not be altered. If you choose to keep them, it is a personal choice, do not cry for more stable slots. Maybe we need a pet taxidermy/statue maker kit instead.

more stable slots? Limits make things challenging, removing limits make things easy, if it was all easy what is the point?

I already have a buttload, over 1000 BODs for PoF. They take up about 250 lockdowns. Among my five houses and castle lockdowns isn't a problem. Exactly what part of this has anything to do with challenge. It's not a freaking competition. They are constantly adding to the list of items that stack. PoF is a no brainer for stacking.

Challenge again. What the hell are you talking about? Challenge smallenge. You obviously don't do a massive amount of BODs. You can put 500 BODs in a book yes. Well you can't remove BODs from a book not in your backpack. Try sorting and organizing a couple BOD books. Enjoy.

Um.. Yeah, because it's completely ludicrous how skewed the system is currently. Only scripters are really still out there mining and chopping trees. Only scripters are able to sell resources on vendors. Casual players may still be collecting some resources but I'd bet mostly only for their personal use and it's asinine how long it takes to get a decent amount of rare wood and ingots. Challenge. Please. What game are you playing?

Wasn't my idea but I think it's a good one. What does it matter. It's the same exact properties filling the same exact slot it only looks different.

Yes they should most of them suck nowadays. We don't always want new tamables. Just improve some of the older ones. It's not like they haven't tweaked pets before.

There's no reason to still have strict limitations on stable slots. It's not like mass storage is a problem nowadays on modern servers.

Whatever floats your boat. Why not? Make your favorite pet into a piece of art deco.

What exactly is challenging about having 2 stable slots or 4 stable slots or 6 stables slots? You really make no sense at all?

Try responding to the first sentence of my post. I put it first cause it was the most important point I was making.

"The challenge of UO is not just about how difficult the monsters are to bash."

You perceive these things as broken. I perceive them as challenges to overcome.

I never said they were broken. They can certainly be improved upon however.

So what's your point? There's a huge world we call UO with challenges in all aspects of the game.

Not every single pidly little thing needs to be a pain in the ass. There's Siege for that.

You want old UO, go play a freeshard running pre pub16 or pre AoS.

Some pretty major gamer breakers there in that list NOT. Say whatever you want. You're obviously just arguing to argue with repeated posts.

So basically anyone with a viewpoint other than yours needs to leave EA? Basically you think you are UO, and only you know whats best for everyone? Just dig your heels to an opposing viewpoint, and don't even make an attempt to understand it. You joined too long ago to be a three year old, so what makes you so special?

Seriously, anyone who has a contrary opinion is just arguing to argue? As if they have nothing better to do than to come here and spite you.

    Let's revisit chopping wood:

A lot of people here have been around long enough to remember when there was no colored wood with special properties. People still spent hundreds of hours chopping trees, and GM'ed LJ and Carp (with no intention of using LJ to kill even a mongbat), so they could sell a wooden bench for 25 gp on a vendor in the middle of a nowhere. There are probably fewer scripters chopping less wood today, than there were actual people chopping wood 10 years ago.

You chopped wood for three days and didn't get enough of a special to please you, so clearly it must be broken... If it wasn't broken when there were more players, and no specials, how could it possibly be broken now?

Regarding the same issue with mining:

Do we need to go into the same detail of all the people that went mining for colored ore that had no special properties? Heck, I remember your avatar from the myuo days. You might be one of the few that remember when there wasn't even colored ore, and they still mined for hours!!!

The bottom line, people went out and did these mundane tasks for hours and loved it. Even pre-tram people loved it. Go out and fill a packy only to get PK'ed and dry looted. They kept coming back. A sense of accomplishment does not only come from better weapons and bigger mobs. This is not advocating going back to any previous state.

They should stop trying to eliminate every aspect of UO life outside of monster bashing and EM events.

The thread was posted for people to submit what they'd like the devs to work on instead of all kinds of stuff we didn't ask for.

You're the only one who felt the need to argue every point you don't agree with. That wasn't/isn't the point of the thread.

To top that off your fist post was way off base.

Not even remotely close to what ANYONE asked for other than client fixes. You against those too?

Sarcasm taken out of context, so now you're going to troll me instead of responding?

I tried to follow this thread but it quickly became a "I want this and you are wrong" thing. I've seen more important stuff closed after one reply, can we please shut this dribble down?
