  2. Stratics is pleased to introduce a community Article Management System (AMS) to the forums! AMS allows users to contribute articles about profession templates, houses, pvp, or a variety of other topics. This is a great way to showcase your ideas that require more space than a typical thread. Our staff can also feature articles and promote threads into articles (when appropriate). We are pretty excited about this feature and hope you will be too. It will allow the community another way to express themselves and contribute to the growth of the game and community! For information on how to submit an article, read this article.
  3. We've put our heads together to simplify the Rules of Conduct (ROC) from 23 items down to 8. We hope that the new ROC will be more intuitive and easier to remember. This should also help us to improve our moderation by focusing on fewer items. We are always striving to make Stratics better and to encourage communication and participation. We think that you'll be happy for this improvement. Thanks for being here.

What does duped item or money look like?

I have recently read several posts describing duping and wanted to know if there is a way to tell if an item or gold is duped? I want to avoid any counterfeit items (and report anyone selling them). Also, I was hoping someone could share the history of duping with those of us that are relatively new to UO. I returned about 6 months ago after an 8 year hiatus and have really enjoyed reconnecting with this crazy and highly addictive game but I am troubled by the tenuous economy.

There is no way to tell duped items from the real deal. They are an exact replica. The only difference is in the coding. Rule of thumb: If it sounds too good to be true, it is prolly duped.

They look like the original in MOST cases but we had a nice flood of duped items that only LOOKED like the original lacking all the properties the originals had hence the monk shrouds.

Items on that list are as follows:

Glacial items staffs spellbooks bandanas pants daggers skinning knives and so on

    Ethereal colored cloaks

    Black halberds

    Blue/Red glacialish halberds

    Red executioners axes

    silver viking swords

    Neon gold clothing

    Neon blue robes

Various sigil colored stuff (You can tell legit for sure from dupes if the object is not plain such as a sword with more than standard props on it)

There were a few more but I cannot think of them without looking around but that is most of them.
