Discussion in 'UO Siege Perilous' started by Wyldfyre, Apr 29, 2008.
Just logged on after being gone for quite awhile and Iantown is practically gone.
role playing is prohibited on siege, its a new era tamers stealthers and luna!
Where is Iantown located?
Some folks just quit UO or left the shard...of many guilds and player run towns on Siege.
There seems to be quite a bit of room out there though if anyone wants to place and build it back up again.
I was out there for a couple of weeks myself but in the end I always return to my lg twr NW Brit spot, be it twr or custom I just always end up back in that same location by downtown Brit... I guess I just like it there. *prefer old world land anyway*
Ya go out Umbra head west you can follow the road out or follow Gravewater Lake ..Iantown is/was out that way.

yeh rpling here is nearly diminished pretty much to barely surviving or nearly non existant.
Are there still any active communities out there? And does Kelmo still play?
It got pk'd.
The few communities there are now revolve around a guild or alliance. These communities are more revolved around voice communication than role playing. In other words, radio killed the video star.
I am still around. I enjoy spending time with my TnT/Myth crew. The game has lost a lot of lustre for me though. I left the friendly confines of Iantown to experience more of what the Siege experience has to offer.
By no means am I good fighter. I have enjoyed some good battles, but the new power of the lands leaves little room for the casual PvPer. Twinking the guard zones, near unstoppable dragons, and other unmentionables have seriously put a damper on game play.
I suppose there is always spawning and PvM, but I just can not get to excited about that sort of thing any more. I have neither the patience or the knowledge to keep up with my younger friends. Bods and quests are boring for me, though some seem to win that lottery on occasion. *shrugs*
My pub, covered in cob webs, still stands in what was the heart of Iantown. That is the past though. I still honor my roots, but my future does not lie in the past. *chuckles*
As a player I still run with TnT and the Shadowlord faction. Shadowlords for the second time. It is a long story. Most of my enjoyment comes from my extracurricular duties now. My volunteer job on Stratics, from which I try to strengthen the community and Siege in general.
You will not see me on my soapbox often any more. I tend to try to do my thing in subtle ways. A word here, a line there to keep important issues in the light. I do not openly recruit for Siege, there lies heartache. Yet, every now and then, I pick up a 'vibe' from a poster and will quietly invite them to try the Siege experience.
I hear rumors that Iantown will rebuild. I encourage this. I hope Iantown will get it right this time. Our first vision was fine and lasted for some time. I hope a new vision will come and lead to the resurgence of a lively, multi faceted community.
I will support a rebuilding of Iantown. I will do any thing I can for that community. I will do so as a member of TnT though. I have many projects on my back burner involving my current friends in TnT. I need to get off my ass and get them going.
The Aeric Horn memorial project is well under way. It is by no means my idea and I am certainly just one of many involved with this. I hope you will all be respectful with the effort so many have put into this. It will fitting I think. I hope you will all agree. More on that later.
On the topic of towns, there are some out there. TnT/Myth has a large territory staked out and does host dueling. GiL has a patch of land. The Shire, while not as vibrant as it once was still exists and hosts a somewhat weekly story night.
Do not give up on the community, it seems somewhat cyclic. It may come around again.
You may remember me. I had a character that started out as a parry/mage and then changed to a macer for a few days who then changed to a thief for a few days who then changed...well you get the picture.
Character was named Dain. You and the rest of the Iantown community helped myself and three others out quite a lot when we first got here. I owe everything I have on Siege to you.
What roleplayers are left? I'm looking to get back into UO and just enjoy myself roleplaying. I'm a little worried though because all I've seen since I got here was what prodo shards have become. Shallow PvP with everybody sitting at Luna bank.
*smiles* I do remember. The game is what you make it my friend. Seek out those few left. Tell us of your role playing preferences. Perhaps they will seek you.
Iantown still here I have been busy with work lately but i have a things in the works. And dain I tryed talking to you in Luna tonight but you must have been AFK.
Yeah, I was doing some house cleaning. Back on now.
If you two want to shoot me an icq request I need to get everybody readded. Cleared my list out a long time ago.
Look up Nuriko. I do believe she is trying to help revive Iantown. They are in the beginning stages from what I understand, and would probably greatly appreciate the help. I know she can also be found out at NEW helping out Shalimar.

Greetings Kelmo and all residents of Siege. I Branwyn of Errol, my sister Delores Duende (of *ahem* somewhat shady reputation), and several stealthy companions heard the siren song of the shard and crossed the ocean from Catskills to explore this world. We were so warmly greeted by the residents, even to the point of being ambushed by a certain "RoXXor" who is most likely a testosterone poisoned Ki-Rin last night, that we may just become residents here when our NEW residency ends. Though ignorant of the particular customs of Siege, we bring combined decades of wisdom in lore common to all UO shards, and we are happy to share it. We are outgoing, fun-loving folk and we are very appreciative of all the help we have received as we adjust to the unique climate here.
Don't abandon your soapbox altogether Kelmo.
If you are in need of anything please let me know. As I speak I'm working on my crafting trades to better help the restoration of Iantown.
Its good to know my Cats guild Brothers and sisters have joined me on this shard. Now at least I won't die alone. Welcome to Siege. I don't have much but your welmcome to share what I have.
cats was my original shard. ive been on siege for years though
*smiles* Thank you for the kind words Branwyn, I hear few enough of them. *bows*
Iantown had a GREAT 4 year run. As with anything time passed and interest in other things evolved for fellow townsfolk.
It takes a special commitment from folks to get a town like that to last, even 4 years. The folks in PaxLair on Ches just celebrated thier 10th anniversary and that town had it's peaks and valley's.
Hopefully some folks with the drive and commitment needed will step up and rebuild what was once great.
Ya , came from cats myself. Left it when Siege came out, then when Arirang came out i played it along with siege. I never regret the move though.
It would be nice to hear of Iantown's revitalization. Although I no longer play UO - Iantown holds a special place in my heart.
Spree approached me and asked if I was interested in re building I^A...and I said yes...he is working on something...so I hope when he is ready he will post and let everyone know what it is.
He talked to me just a little bit earlier. It's something I'm going to help with as well
