What happens to a pet when logging out?

Discussion in 'UO Tamer' started by imported_Hawkeye_Pike, Mar 17, 2008.

  1. Hi all,

in vain I've been looking for answers for the following questions:

What happens when you have a pet and log out?

Is there a difference between logging out in a house or logging out/timing out in the wilderness?

Is there a difference with bonded and not bonded pets?

Mounted pets log out with the character and log back in with it. How about non-mountable pets?

How long does it take for a pet to go wild while it is in my own house?

What happens to a dead bonded pet when you log out? Will it vanish after some time? Will it wander around? Or will it log out with myself?

    Thanks for your help!

Generally, the pet will log out with you. The main case where it doesn't is when they have stuff in them, and that only happens with packies.

Good to know! I already suspected the official UO Play Guide to be outdated. It says: "If you leave the game with a pet out in the open or in your house, the pet shortly returns to its wild state. If you wish to keep your pets for longer than a single game session, you need to stable them."

Also sometimes upon log out your pet will auto stable if there is room but i'm not sure under what circumstances this happens.
