What are some of the items you would like to see for sale?
Thoughts or discussions?
nothing, earn your loot ingame!!!
Well some of the loot isn't acquireable in game unless your in a big guild or have groups of friends. Not everyone has the template or know how to solo peerless and even then do to it on the scale required for a possible Crimson Cinture to drop for a solo player isn't easy.
I don't like that I have to go out and make a bunch of friends in order to experience or explore parts of the game. I came back to see what the Dev's added to the game after a long hiatus. Friends and guildmates that I had are all long gone and it's just not the same as it once was so I definatelty lean toward making these items available somehow to players such as myself who don't want to join up with a Group or guild even if that means paying RL cash for some items.
Luckily I can do some peerless on my own and with the help of a few friends but I wouldn't be doing those Peerless without the template I have which requires a 120 scroll which I bought with RL cash. As someone else previously posted on Stratics before it went down "In order to get the artifacts and scrolls I need the artifacts and scrolls" and that's truly how it is.
120 makes all the difference in the world. Proper gear and templates make all the difference in the world and some of it is not accessible to all people. Maybe of our own choosing but I as I stated I don't want to join a guild because it's never going to be the same as it once was for me.
Also there are certain high level templates required (120) to attempt Peerless or Champion spawns need in order to have a good degree of success.
Currently is appears as if certain guilds/groups/players that have control over champion spawns and we'll dive in and interrupt at the in whatever time they deem necessary to come and steal the day. I have no problem with this I also don't have a problem buying items/resopurces from EA instead of the UO site of the week.
Other sites are selling gold and weapons why not UO/EA? Afterall it's their game. Unfortantely it's turned into a business for some but it is what it is...
Powerscrolls and recipes for sure I would be down with. The problem with uogamecodes in my opinion is the high price they demand for some of their items. The gender change and the name change deed are like $30. It's totally ridiculous they need to rethink the prices of some of the promos they offer. What does it really cost EA anyways?
well . . . I play solo, alwase have and alwase will, yet i have gotten EVERY item that I have Ever wanted. I have solo'd peerless and spawn and ran rampid in fel mag taking what i wanted. Yeah, I've been ganked tons of times and it's part of the game. I didnt let it stop me. I've stolen 120's from BTH [a once HUGE fell guild that controlled fel] I am left felling that I have truly beaten this game . . . SOLO!!
If you feel you need to Buy your way thru this game maybe your playing the wrong game, I'd sujest you try an easier game that you can win. Maybe Mario Bro's is the game for you. I'll show you how get 1000x lives so you can beat it.
Maybe a shard transfer token that trans all chrs from one shard to another.
As to the rest of the list, Quit crying over spilled Insurance. Go res and get back out there!
uo i think is by nature designed as a group play game . is why they keep muckin with champs and peerless to try to make it harder on solo players .
but if u can deal with 2 or 3 freinds u will find is very lil u cant do ...
i can see where someone might want buy gold , farming gold for a high end item can take some time .Not everyone has 18 hours a day to sit and play uo , some actually have a life outside uo (work family mowing the grass etc.) and while there are literally 100s of people sellin gold for r/l cash it would be nice if there was a way to be sure u are safe .
I really don't see any reason for EA to ban third party sales and just start selling gold and resources themselves. Its not like there aren't plenty of sites that sell items, and none of them, to my knowledge, give a kick back to EA. If EA were to invest UO Stores profits directly back into UO I have no issue with them selling whatever you can buy on third party sites for the same prices as third party companies. Also, if you can buy the items directly from EA then it kind of kicks scripters in the arse.
I don't have a single 120 or any artifacts (other than craftable) on my tamer who duos Lady Mel, Dread Horn, and Travesty with a friend. Sometimes I take two friends and do them and none of us have 120s however my friend who is a necro mage has a few artifacts.
No there really aren't 120s belong mostly in PvP. You can do almost all PvM content with 110s or 115s if you know how to gear and template and you can gear and template without a single doom artifact.
In my book this is a HUGE issue with champion spawns. Champion spawns should have never been the long lasting band-aid they end up being for PvP. Instead, a decent consentual PvP system (O/C with factions) should have been introduced.
I agree that there prices are skewed. I mean, I will never buy a gender or name change for a character at $30 but I might buy 3 at $10. It doesn't really cost EA anything because it is a completely automated system.
As long as I pay $12.95 a month or someone else does and they choose to buy items or I choose to buy items it is MY or THEIR choice. You have no right to tell use what game to play just because of your opinion. If it wasn't for us you wouldn't have a game to "solo".
Totally and utterly agree.
I dont think any of those things in the list is something I would want to see them sell.
What they should have, that I would like to see, would be cheaper x-fer tokens and nothing else! Unless they started selling plots of land within the cities, lol. I want to buy the bank of moonglow so I can gain a bit of profit.
I voted for none of the above, because I think the already purchasable items cheapen the game, but I know it is a necessary revenue stream from the business perspective.
I suggest quality cloth maps of the lands instead!
Responding to last for convenience... I think some people who have posted need to take the RL money they spend in game and get some education and learn how to spell !!! That is pretty annoying IMO!
I vote none of the above. All the things you have listed are too easly earned already. I think a new account should start with enough to place a small house however. Also, would love to be able to buy a token that xfers ALL my chars.
What I'd like to see at the uo.com store is lower prices.
I chose resources/items, etc. Not because I want to see leather sold for RL money, but I would buy up a ton of the original ToT dyes. Keep hoping they'll put them up for sale here since Japan had/has them.
Well, none of your poll options, what we do need is...
I would like to see UO sell vendor spots inside brit bank and outside brit bank. There would be a fee attached to your account like 2 dollars a month and you were only allowed one vendor per account. This would bring life back to brit bank and a stronger sense of community. I enjoyed when people would bargain and sell their wares. Now you talk to anyone in Luna bank and they pretend you don't exist.
The current shops give NO money back to EA to be invested into UO at all. The only profit to be made is for those that run the websites. I don't understand how you can mention these sites that sell items and at the same time not allow EA to sell these items.
Super Large Mouse pad with UO on it.
Nothing on that list should be offered for sale, except for gold. I'd like to see EA rule that gold cannot be sold by players, in game or out and sell it themselves.
i am opposed to anyone being able to buy their way to a char. heck i feel guiltly for having an account given to me. I really feel that is one of the reason we have had such a loyal player base for years because we could not judt buy, try and quit. You had to have dedication and loyalty to yourself and the game to get somewhere and you felt good for having the skill.
If you just wanna have daddy buy your way through life, (or wife, or mom) then so be it. But do it it another game. Our game is full enough of fly by night people that come in like lions and leave like lambs cause they are so damn lazy they won't even goto Gargoyle City to buy a few mallets but are willing to pay 50k for someone else to, really speaks volumes of peoples inablilty to have paitence for something.
And talk about seperation of classes? Oh you are too POOR to go (insert dungeon here) i bought a code and get to go , now you have to pay out the butt in gold if you want what i can get that you can't. Lands are bad enough as it is. Soon the rate things are going, items will be palyer specific and we'll be just another online game with extreme limits.
*crosses her arms*
IDOC houses - esp luna ones. EA could get the RL $$ for them instead of the house scriptors/exploiters.
why not?. Its their game. If a luna house or castle goes IDOC they should repossess it and sell to highest bidder.
talismans of speedhack removal
I agree I also play solo and would rather earn what I have myself. BUT, I believe what ppl do with their rl money is there business. I won't look down at them over it and I can care less. I myself have bought things in the past. It's not that big of a deal and not something to be nasty about!!!! If someone wants to waste there money on pixels go for it they pay the monthly fee to keep the game alive. I would rather be in the dungeons doing it myself but if I see something I want and don't have the chance to I will be in line buying it!
Personal Bless deeds.

Oh, and they use the money to fund a decent Customer Service dept, and some proper in game paid GMs who wield power and abilities to fix things when they go wrong, not just copy pasters who cant be bothered.
Also to fund a new weekly GM/ Staff run FUN event, (Back to the Old Seer events, hunts, mystical rambles, battles against foes, with sexy loot to collect and show off)
Extra house per shard, or account (Not on the same shard, I would love a Siege house)
A basement for my current house.
Other then stuff that does not affect game balance (Arties, stats, extra skills) anything that is eye candy is a good thing for the UO Store.
I voted none of the above, but I'd pay $30 right NOW for a 2nd house token! Even if it was only good for a 10 x 10 or smaller.
HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!! That'll be the day. I think they just fired all the GMS and instead run a GM script that tells people to visit the website. *sarcasm anyone?*
Really, I think when UO sells things it becomes way overpriced. $20 for 20% more storage? Good grief! Kudos to them for trying, but I think they are off by about a factor of 10. $2 for 20% increased storage sounds much more reasonable. It's PIXELS people, doesn't cost them anything.
*sigh* Maybe a discount for having over X number of paid up, longstanding accounts? Loyalty reward?
I honestly don't think any of the items mentioned in the poll are good ideas. I did like the suggestion of a shard transfer token taking all charaters to a new shard, but that also poses tricky problems, and would unfortunately be insanely expensive if the UO store sold it. Let's keep it how it is, not an online toy store where you can buy it instead of playing to earn it.
I have problem with people buying and selling gold, but I do have a problem with EA doing it. They would be pushing more gold into a system that already has incredible inflation. I also think it would inspire scripters to try to compete with lower prices by scripting more. No, not gold, resources, or artifacts.
As for special areas, isn't that what we usually get with expansions? I love exploring new areas, but I'd hate there to be 100 mediocre mini land expansions rather than a few decent semi complete expansions.
I am also a bit tired of the complaining that the only way to compete is to buy it. I think people totally underestimate 110 powerscrolls that sell for pretty cheap. Also, the runic changes can make decent armor sets pretty easy to get. Sure, some legendary scrolls and artifacts can make things easier, but so can hardwork and cleverness. Find items that can you can currently obtain (gems, chocolate ingredients, SOS bottles) and either sell them or use them to get what you need. I've been killing myself to earn enough points for the next turnins, but I also love that I can still get the nets, bottles, rations, and artifacts for it. I really enjoy being able to earn the chaos tile or bee hive for my house.
I'd love to have an extra house on my account, but there are certain problems with such a system.
I like this idea.
