Whats the Costs of A Mag Lotto Ticket

Discussion in 'UHall' started by RavenWinterHawk, Mar 4, 2011.

  1. I have 100 million to burn. How much is a ticket?

Whats the best way to buy a ticket? All on one plot or several tickets on all the plots.

    Any details?

    Zero details.

This is probably still in the planning stage with very little actually coded.

I think the ticket cost should be based on how many infractions you have had on stratics... every 10points = 100mil ...

but seriously, I hope alot do what your about to do.. go blow 100mil or even more. In the larger scheme of things, it truly won't effect that ridiculous amount of gold in the game.. but it is a start.

Maybe they should fire a few castles around malas and auction them off.. 100-200mil a ticket? ..

No. It is easy. It should cost all you have. Humility should dictate your chances not greed. Ultimate gold sink.

I know. Not feasible. Not gonna happen. Just saying.

If the system is created in any intelligent manner then it would stand to reason there will be an exponential increase for each additional ticket purchased. The only question that should be unknown is where you can bid on certain plots or whether the plots are actually pooled together in on big lotto jumble. I'm guess this will be the case as it sounds easier to code than a lotto for each plot.

Hopefully they will start the bidding at 100k then go up from there.

  6. yeah ... however ... bidding is a mis-speak ... yes?
whats a 15x15 cost from the surveyors device?
Thats your ticket price ... accessible to noobs ... whole idea ... yes?

IF "everyone" is already entered on the one half side
and assuming that that half will be a "blind draw"
    >>> it could be possible to put "bidding boxes/books" ON those plots
(also blind, can't see what others have offered ... or IF any have)
    So that:
The winner can see "immediate reason" to NOT change anything other than complete the best transaction (if all are listed to the owner)
Or Open the bid box/book ... and see who how much >can be done today<
    Or
run their own "auction" however they choose ...

The Other "multi ticket" Half of the island
(If I heard them right ... 22 per mag BOTH Fel and tram)
Leaves 11 to gamble tickets on
IF 15x15 cost (or a onetime pricing ... say 100k)
    Then
A Fishbowl (blind to numbers in) could be placed on each of those plots
A guild could place one ticket each (1.1mil) and try for a parlay of all plots
    or 10 tickets for each of the 11 (11mil) ... or a 100 parlay bet (110mil)
(110mil-gp for a single weapon armor has happened ... yes? guild buy)

    *shrugs*

as for idle minded (okay, addled too) Billionaires ... one check per ticket ... no bags, no crates, no burning donkey sacrifices ... drag and drop to try and "win a township" ...

    there go the plots
IF they manage to limit design choices ... *shrugs*
Hopefully they can also >compensate< by allowing adjoining housing to "bridge" (yep ... depends on how close they are)
Or custom carve some road effects in ...(smugness there wouldn't pay for a driveway ... Thats why he has no drive way ... urban planning is in negotiations ... but ...)

Player driven is the over arching theme ...
Hopefully besides the driving ... we can choose colors and "extras" to add to the package.

you seriously should hire someone to covert your drawn out ramblings
    into something more viewer friendly.

Meh. With the house police, poor game design(and almost certainly poor implementation) along with the rich being able to get a potential edge I just can't wait to see how this will all turn out.

I will be surprised if it's a lotto per-plot kinda deal though. It's easier to game the system that way statistically.

    - I disagree in part.

    - In theory I could open an infinite number of accounts, with a mostly automated script, and make a nearly infinite amount of bids.
    - Knowing where the plots are could create a scaled ticketing system where the more popular plots could be where all the big gold players spend billions and other plot tickets could cost peanuts.
    - I agree that they will probably randomly award plots to whomever the RNG picks to be the X amount of winners.

This could be a huge gold sink; no matter the price point, as long as it rates high in desirability by enough players.
As such, this should be plastered everywhere.. like a big message on entry that a new book has been placed in your backpack regarding the Mag Ho Lotto.

(my apologies for I have not seen the video yet, so I have no idea what details have been provided other than what I see in this thread ~ aye am just making blind suggestions re: possibilities)

They were very specific that you would be bidding on the specific plot you wanted, so while it's a raffle, as far as you are concerned, you are only raffling for one house and not for a chance at a random house out of the 11 in the section you are raffling for. I don't think they said whether you could enter for all 11 houses.

The other one, it was clear that you could enter as many times as you wanted to and had money for.

    Hummm....

    Don't want one.

    Couldn't give me one.

Unless I can have one and not lose my current house.

that's what gets me, I have a decent size private island to myself. No way would I give up my island just to have one of those plots. However... if I could have one grandfathered then I'd go nuts with them.

What a terrific gold sink if only they would grandfather your houses...

  16. nods ... which is kinda both of our points ...
the gaming WILL be done by the vets
they just can't help it ...
Pavlovian reflexes from years in the skinner box ...

and arguably justified ... ten vets and a thousand noobs enter ...
guess who the RNG is gonna favor?
the statistically astute vets ... and a baptism for the noobs
rigged! favorites! and scam! and scripts!
no guys ... just a streaky RNG.

not that there IS a thousand noobs total all shards ...
which will make it worse for each individual noob ...

its the odds of the math ... o'well

At least they didn't tease this one with a months long "sekret project" to "knock your socks off" campaign.
Divert attention from any "coming booster THEME" being totally lacking

eased into the concept of "not a full booster coming" ...
what the heck that might be measured as ...
    (certainly not in quatloo)

    *shrugs*

Well this is the gold sink everyone being wanting for years. There wasnt going to be a gold sink with something players don't want and the gold sink had to be large not 200k or 1 mil when most players still in UO have over a billion gold. No reason to complain.

Didn't I see something (perhaps in the transcript of the video) that you got to bid on ONE Property on each side of the city? That way, you couldn't try to win them all (but you could go overboard on the one to the south where you can get multiple tickets).

Maybe I'm missing something, however, could someone explain to me why they would want one of these houses? It's like any other plot, except surrounded by tons of others.

Not sure if they count toward your 1 house per account limit if they don't then definetely are desireble just for that if they do then they are only worth the price someone is willing to pay. Which would be to say that they own it so most will want to win the plot just to sell it for more gold than they spent to someone who truly wanted to collect it like a rare.

I'm not even sure if I've understood the numbers right. Is it 22 in Tram and a further 22 in Fel, or is it 22 overall? Eleven per facet, something like 5 North and 6 South? That would make more sense to me given the size of the island.
But since everyone else seems to be assuming a total of 44. Maybe I'm totally wrong.

I think it's 22 on each facet. Mesanna said 22 plots in Magincia, she didn't say 11 in Fel Magincia, 11 in Tram Magincia. If they limit them to 15x15, it's doable.

If it were only 11 on each facet, that would be a lot of dev team work for such a small number of houses.

On less populated shards that are only comprised of mostly keeps and castles I think they will be hard pressed getting people to pay for a tiny plot.

I see large plots open in Tokuno on the main roads on some shards.

They do count. Accepting one of these will condemn your current houses. Messana was very animated about that. She may be the reason nothing will ever happen in regards to multiple houses per account.

On another note we found that Cal actually played SWG so we should begin speaking to him in that language in order to get our points across.
