When is the best time to advance a Champion Spawn?

I have been running Champion Spawns for a while now and always advanced the spawn when I reached the 3rd level. Mostly because 3rd levels are irritating (due to spellcasters) and by that time I feel I have a good handle on the spawn and a death won't cause too much regression. I am just wondering if advancing it on a 1st or 2nd level would shorten the timing significantly. Quick completion is the priority due to me being solo and completing before a raid can get organized.

I´d say advance it on the level that you find most difficult to fight to get that level over with as soon as possible.

Your doing it right as far as I'm concerned...

    I always bump Tier 3.

Tier 1 is the easiest makes no sense to bump it.
Tier 4 goes the fastest makes no sense to bump that one.
    That leaves 2 and 3.
Tier 3 can be hazardous and is more challenging than 2.
Tier 2 doesn't pose much of a threat.

Well I get 1 red candle bump at 3 (or so it seems). If you can get a 2 candle bump at 2, might be worth the Tier 3 risk, to save the time.

I actually was expecting this thread to be "what time of the day should I be spawning so I don't get raided!?" but who raids spawns?

Bump the spawn at the beginning of level 3 (no white skulls on the alter) and this way you will be knight of valor again before the spawn ends.

Oranginse a event like we do on Drachenfels. For 6 weeks in a row we be doing different chamion spawns. Planty of people always show up and we always defeated the champions. Some fight are hard some are easier but it looks like they have fun otherwise the would not return for more in the next : Tour of Champions

To me, when I tested it, it always seemed to bump the Candles, but NOT the spawn.

For example, if candles 10-13 were level 3, and 14-16 level 4, if you bumped it 1 candle, level 3 would run through 14, leaving only 2 levels of level 4 spawn.
If the bump was 2 candles (as in a bump as it starts), you'd have only 1 level of level 4 spawn.

If you have trouble with level 4 spawn (say, with the succubi from the Semidar spawn, or the top end Ophidians & Terethans), it made sense to bump - but in all other cases it didn't, and in some cases it would be counterproductive (bumping rats DURING level 3 would give you an extra level of rat mages - frankly, I don't think the archers and serpents come fast enough to get those red-vested spell-spammers gone).

1st level for rats since it's so boring and all levels are easy
3rd level for the rest of them

Thats interesting, I'm going to have to pay attention. If it doesn't shorten that particular Tier, then it wouldn't matter when you bump. In fact in that case it might be better to bump at 16 candles (which if I read right guarantess the Champion) to avoid that occasional repeat of the final 4 whites. I always thought you get a higher bump at lower levels 1 red+ at 2 & 1, maybe just a couple whites at 4.

I only bump the first level of rats when doing a solo. If there are others there I might bump it at third but more often I don't bother. Rarely does it seem to speed it up as I just roll around killing stuff.
