Never received this, personally. Did anyone else not?
Cal did say it went to a lot of folks, I'm going to assume it went to e-mails with inactive accounts.
Not me - though I do still get 12 Pogo E-mails a week...
It went to opt in lists from EA ... hmmm. If you never got it, please PM me ...
I never got it but i just reactivated today so whatever , but iv never gotten one for my account ever even when i played before.
I got this email but I had clicked on the option to receive news from EA.
Im not sure if all my accounts are opted out, but I do receive some newsletters now and then. I just ticked the "Contact me about EA news" etc box, lets see if that changes anything in future.
Now you'll get the emails with your login id in the subject line. Remember? The ones Cal never got answers to us about?
When they first started sending out the news letter I would get 3 every time. Changed nothing on my accounts and have not seen one in what 2 years. They just stopped showing up.
I didn't get one either... Have heard that people with inactive accounts did recieve one though. *shrugs*
If you do not click "Allow EA/Mythic to send product news and updates" under the personal info in your account, you will not get this email.
Cal I have 53 accounts under my belt and not one sent me that e mail and all my accounts are for sending me updates. And I too got a few pogo emails as well. You would think id get 1 at least. All e mail addys are up to date.
My accounts were not set for receiving newsletters but all are now. Is it posted in the forums anywhere? (Found it)
Will the Gamecodes Store be fixed by the time the Booster is released? I recently wound up having to get a refund because the codes given by the store & the EA Customer Service people were being rejected as invalid by the Game. Apparently some communication problem between EA & Mythic.
Any chance to get the CC copied 'look & feel-wise' in the programming language used for the EC thst you find easier to work with as part of a future booster pack? The CC look & feel is what makes the gameplay experience so good.
HOLY ****, I thought myself having 4 was a lot!
You wouldn't want to buy a poor college student a brand new state-of-the-art laptop so he can do some of his video game art studies in going back and forth to school, would you? Fifty... three.
And here I thought I had a few too many accounts. *chuckles*
They should give you your own Booster Pack Expansion: Storm of the Night or some such thing...
Or at very least, name a room in Mythic Studios after you.
I hate to say this Cal but I only received the email on my inactive account.
None of my 8 live accounts received anything.
and here I thought I was the Addict. What I couldn't do with 53 accounts... *daydreams about the housing designs and deco*
If I had money to have 100 I would... but 8 seems to be my limit. For now.
I think at that point I'd need a spreadsheet of some sort just to keep track of all those usernames and passwords.
Anyway..... Cal no newletter here.
can someone post this newsletter somewhere?
i didnt get it either.
I only have 10 active accounts, but I also get several pogo emails, as well as a couple offers of discounted software from EA but no emails about UO. All of my accounts are marked to opt in for info from EA, and have current up to date email addresses.
Oh yeah, actually that IS why I did the opt out - because of those stupid Pogo emails "Hello uo_(account name)!"
I received numerous Pogo emails but never a newsletter.
I too have recieved the Pogo emails... I wish they would stop...
Are you single???
If so, Will You Marry Me???
Me, but don't need to as I haunt the boards anyway
I did. It stated that the arenas were currently up on TC, which was, obviously, a lie.
I think that is one of the reasons Cal addressed it in his letter. I mean, we all understand that the game changes, but you really can't advertise something that ISN'T actually in the game as a current feature. They usually call that 'false advertising' and it is frowned upon in most circles, and Cal should probably count his blessings a few particular people (you know, the ones who basically ended the original volunteer programs) aren't on board as I could see them possibly attempting to present him with a letter from the FTC.
edit to Cal: Cal, I'm curious. What would you do if someone decided to come back to UO simply to try out the arena system only to find they had been misled due to your letter? Would you assist in ensuring them a refund?
How many accounts do you run simultaneously on one machine? Have you ever been logged in with all accounts at the same? Do you do you multiple champ spawns simultaneously on your own with these accounts? Wow!
On a side note, two things:
No, I never got the email either -- which is odd because I get ALL KINDS of EA marketing stuff, and I know I'm opted in on at least two of my accounts.
Second... Yeah, about the whole "arenas" thing... it does make you wonder how a producer's update that has to be run through marketing and by the lawyers and over the woods and through the hills before it can be given to us somehow is given the stamp of approval when it mentions a feature that's live on test center that's not, you know, actually live on test center. It does sort of lend a little credence to the theory that it's not marketing holding things up, it's just that Cal's not had time to write and rather than just say that, makes a polite excuse for it not having been done.
I don't receive ANYTHING - not from EA or Pogo or anyone related.
I did receive local EA's newsletter I subscribed to (that stopped too) - but it never mentioned UO because UO was never sold here in any shape or colour or expansion... When I inquired local EA about UO they replied they had no knowledge of such game.
(for your file, Cal...)
I fear the day she decides to close em... It's totally up to her when they shut UO down for good.
This is why I dont recieve any,if it came to my email address without my game account I would opt in
I didn't get anything, but I have both boxes unchecked, and after reporting Pogo as 'phishing' numerous times, they've stopped as well.
I hate having a choice between a opting out - or getting a once in a blue-moon UO newsletter along with 5000 pogo spams... But I have not opted out and still don't get the UO Newsletter...
This is sounding more and more like a mailing list issue rather than a player not keeping their email up-to-date issue.
Post the newsletter somewhere?
