Why does EA only let me buy 2 90 day time codes?

Why can't I purchase more codes then 2 at the EA store. *sniffs my money* all money stinks but still :cursing: is there a way to buy more without going to a broker to buy the codes like time codes or the new items?

They've said in the past that all their restrictions on amounts are because of widespread credit card fraud they deal with.

So it is a careful balance between how much to allow your legitimate players to buy knowing that crooks will also be out their taking advantage.

As an aside, I've always wondered why people still buy gametime codes at all. A debit card or credit card is easy for 99% of people to get. The remaining can buy those "reloadable" VISA cards from places like Walmart for a small charge (like $2) I think. Can someone tell me why they use gametime cards as opposed to the other methods?

I'm trying to buy a game time code using my credit card but on the first of august I bought 2 for my other 2 accounts now I need another...not sure how I managed to get all 4 accounts due in one month but I did it. Plus they came out with new items and it would be nice to get those too.

Call them at 1 (866) 543-5435 - for some reason - they can sell more over the phone...

With the account bound nature of codes from gametimecodes, I'm annoyed by the limit.
I wish it were ONLY the non-account-bound code purchased content that had limits.

Zodia - I prefer gametime codes.
Having a fluctuating number of accounts open at the same time over the ages - it's the best option for me.
I can 'stock up' on codes when I have the money to spare in my budget.
[For me, i've found its $5 to reload, and $6 for a monthly fee for a reloadable debit card.]

I have found the phone support to be hit or miss depending on the tech that answers.
I also prefer to have instant purchase gratification and dont like to wait an hour+ on the phone
( or sometimes up to a week for EA open support ticket response ).

I'm curious to know (as I don't currently use the monthly credit card charge) -
If someone were to be paying by credit/debit card for the monthly fee for account time ~
are they still unable to make any 'extra' purchases (a soulstone for example) in any given month
( due to having already reached the limit by having already 'purchased', gametime, that month).

Is it not just as easy to use the creditcard method of payment on the subs? You know how much will be going out each month and on what day. I find this easy to plan my monthly budjet around.
For me i've allways worried that if i bought a game-time code and it didn't work then i'd end up paying a fortune ringing US from UK.

Remember back when... EA got scammed for tons of codes. Maybe it is time for a change.

Yes Slayvite - it is just as easy, but I still prefer gametime.

I can prepay a 180 code on any extra account(s), and when the gametime runs out - I can decide if its still worth it to me to keep them open.

I have also received 'ultimategamecard' as gifts from family members. Fairly inexpensive at $20/per (again i just save em up until i have enough combined credit to use for a purchase) and easy enough for them to get (at Walmart/Riteaid in the USA), and the perfect gift for me (dang enablers feeding my addiction! - D'OH!).

I'm not against using the creditcard method - i just like the gametime option too.

I wanted to spend around 150 Euro for new items and tokens some time ago. After completing the procedure I run into the error message, that I have purchased already too many items (did not purchase any before).
The other payment method (PayByCash) allows you to get game time codes also for 30 and 180 days (and not account bound), but you can only select ONE item per order.

So it seems to me, that store doesn't want or need my money (they started already to do so, as they no longer accepted PayPal as payment method). Ok, so I don't want their stuff.
