I don't really see why it was removed to begin with; they still had the same 5 property/500 intensity cap as anything else.

I like the idea of artifacts designed to be imbued, sort of like the Clockwork Legs from Exodus. They could make artifacts with just one highly overcapped property or a property not normally found on that item type and leave the rest of the item weight free for imbuing. I suppose such items are available with Shame loot but the chance of getting a single special property on a clean item is pretty low.

Always thought they should have left that in to begin with.. silly to have had it in then taken it out ....... Besides most arties and mini-arties are junk anyway.

No it was even more a why the hell not. Arty counted as loot and hed a 450 cap. And I have been preaching for years that new arty should be left in the hands of the Imbuer. For the money grubbers think of the tool sales for enhancing.

We will have imbuing artifacts again when they hire CPT Obvious. Untill then we are in the hands of PVT Mayhem.

Totally agree on this, I would like to see artifacts be imbuable again subject to the normal restrictions; it would make so many obsolete items usable again. I, too, don't really see why this was ever changed.

Oh man was it actually 450? That's even worse.

When was that, five years ago? Is there even anyone that was involved still even slightly related to UO? There's just really no reason not to have it allowed, really.

I totally agree, I've also started previous threads regarding this topic. It makes no sense not to allow it now. The reason it was d/c'd was certain items were over-powered. But with Shame items now, imbued arties with the 450 cap are totally not OP. Also let us remove the mage armor property off Artis while you're at it :p

It is because of the revamped loot system that artifacts should be 550 and 650 imbue cap. Just need to leave the mage armor removal option with the NPC set up to do that. Load of tamers would be mad if their AoF lost mage armor with no way to put it back on. And if that AoF was imbued. How many would also need to visit the store for an enhance tool?

Agreed, all Artifact within the guidelines for the intensity/property cap old or new should be Imbueable again.

    Examples:

-Berserkers Maul imbued with Hit Lightning

-Daimyo's Helm imbued with 8 Stamina

-Djinni's Ring imbued to include 2/3 Faster Casting/Recovery with 15 Hit Chance Increase (yes can still do this with Venom bracelet, but a ring option would be great)

-Gloves of the Pugilist imbued with 8 Stamina,

-Plainsword Imbued with an extra +1 Faster Casting stacked ontop of the already no penalty unimbued structure

-Resilient Bracer Imbued with an extra +15 skill, Casting, or Hit Chance Increase

-Taskmaster imbued with Spell Channeling -1, or Faster Casting +1

There are other Artifacts I left out, but the above listed are items I have seen stockpiled in bulk by people relatively due to their inexpense & easy obtain ability. People that were more or less late to Stygian Abyss expansion were S___ out of luck on this one (including myself). Should this be the case... Is it really game breaking to open up all Artifact Imbuement again... my answer is no, by sticking with the 5 property & intensity weight respective caps.

Look its not a bit of sweat off my nose if you imbue or reforge arties... but I do know the Dev.....
Once a decree has gone down it take an act of congress and the house to even get them to talk of it... and then the Gods of UO have to agree to think on it.... it might take 10 years to get them to even acknowlage you asked about it.
You have to remember it was stopped for a reason and if that reason is still viable... you can hold your breat till your blue and they will still say no. This is like you wanting the car keys and mom said no and dad said what ever mom said... it still means no.

And what is that reason, then...?

Ask the Gods of UO... I cant talk for them..... But I bet its nothing they can get into with you or I. Meaning: It's none of our business and thank you for asking. Look I have worked with in the game system for over 17 years and have yet to have a Dev truthfully tell anyone (past or present Dev) the whole reason for anything that is done. Just sufice it to say it was for the good of the game as a whole... I seriously doubt the current Dev even know of the real reasons for many of the old restrictions, or how to over ride the commands. (tent spawns is a good example)

Once an item is Imbued does it get a new code? Duped item issues.

I don't believe that happens, since UOA dress macros aren't affected by imbuing.

I think the code stays the same, though the only real people who can answer that is the Dev.
