I am going to reformat my computer I haven't found the problem my guess is something on my computer that Norton isn't finding. My Ram is fine. I cleaned it all out its not over heating, the fans are working fine. Everythings tight and secure. I was able to fine stay on long enough for the virus scann to go through it only detected a few spy ware things nothing major. So Not sure of the problem but I haven't reformattted in a cpl years either so probably will be a good thing.

I am thinking of getting windows 7 64 bit version now that i ended up buying another 2 gigs for my computer i'll have 6 total and well I want to make at least good use of them...

Anyone have it currently that like it better then XP or Vista... Any problems with give me the good bad and the ugly!

    Thanks!

I use Windows 7 64 bit. It works really well. I actually prefer it over XP.

Works fine for me. I run in Classic Theme atm, I was having trouble getting UOCartographer to keep updating my location, happened to fix it when I was running Classic Theme to use Matlab (lazy fix instead of updating the java engine).

If you have 6 GB ram then definitely go with 64bit! You're losing out with 32bit since it only sees 3.5GB.
    I LOVE Win7 64bit.
If you go with the PRO version, you can go into XP mode. It blows my mind to see win xp inside my win7. It's like two computers in one. Plus some rare programs that don't work in Vista/win7, will work in this XP mode. Not necessary, but food for thought.

I've used Win7 64 Ultimate since Beta. Even during Beta there were few problems. I don't think I've had it completely lock up on me once. Sure the occasional program screws up, but you just end the task and restart it.

    I love it.

Win 7 64 has been good to me.

Make sure your hardware works with 64bit.

Hands down windows 7 64 bit is the best OS out of Microsoft in ...well, maybe forever.

    I did like XP though...but I think W7 64 is better yet.

We have 6 computers in our house (was 7, but our son managed to fry his), here is the breakdown -

Desktop - Vista 32bit/dual boot with XP
Desktop - Vista 64bit/dual boot with XP
    Laptop - Vista 64bit
    Laptop - Win7 64bit
    Laptop - Win7 64bit
    Netbook - Win7 32bit

We have actually had more problems with the Vista 64bit then the Win7. I didnt want to switch my laptop to Win7, I guess because I am a creature of habit (I wouldnt have went with Vista 64bit on my laptop, except it has too much ram so I needed the 64bit). Took me a long time to switch to Vista. But now I am wishing I had. 2 of our laptops are the exact same specs except for the OS, and mine is constantly having issues and my husbands is not. I do not think you will be upset if you switch to Win7, and you will definitely need the 64bit.

    Good Luck

I still use XP because I'm jaded and bitter. I also used Windows 2000 for years longer than I maybe should have.

My current computer's 64 bit capable, but has under 4 GB RAM after a stick went bad, so I don't feel too bad running it at 32 bit. And luckily, with a baby on the way I'm going to be far too poor to upgrade my machine for at least another decade. Or two.

By that time, I'm hoping my son will take over my mantle as "family computer nerd" and I can turn the tables and bug him to upgrade my operating system and call him every 20 minutes because I can't find where to set the resolution or clear the cache of por...table files.

Long story short, Windows 7 doesn't interest me. It takes away more control, adds more DRM, and doesn't give enough back for me to bother.
