Wow What A Great GM

    Tonight I was in a rather good mood so I treated myself to one of those new fangled Kings Collection codes.
    Went to my account management page and put the code in with no problems.
    Logged in game and it wouldn't take my code. "Invalid code" it said.
    Good mood is fading...
    Tried a different character. Still no good. Pouted. Complained to guildmates and friends on ICQ.
    Paged a GM.
    GM Jolvan showed up within half an hour (I thought I would be waiting all night).
    Patiently waited while I found the right key to talk to the GM. (I can never find the key)
    Start to panic because I don't want him/her to leave.
    Don't you know the most cheerful person working at midnight/one/two AM (in your time zone) is now chatting with me about the codes?!
    Apparently the codes are being sent formatted incorrectly.
    They need to be put in as 6characters-5characters-5characters-5characters-5characters. Instead my code was sent 4-4-4-4-4-4-2.

    For future reference if they don't fix it soon, try reformatting your letters/numbers to 6-5-5-5-5.
    The GM was prompt, extremely friendly, and even said he/she loves UO and plays regularly.

    Glad to hear the great experience. I think we should post the info on how the codes should be formatted stickied up here on the forums for those who are having issues with them.

    Agreed maybe Petra Fyde or Tazar can handle that for us. It would save the GMs some time. :)

    I can't believe after all this time, and the KNOWN code issue, first reported with the intro of King's collection, how many weeks ago ?????? and now affecting numerous other codes that this problem still exists.

    We are BUYING codes from the UO store. I would think it is their responsibility to FIX the damn things as they are selling them.

    Why do we continually accept such shoddy and crap service from this company?

    I am finding it hard to justify continued support.

    Sometimes I wish EA would just shut UO down and be done with it. At least then those of us who just can't bear to watch the stuff we have achieved in game over the years and can't bear to just let go will be put out of our collective misery.

    I always find it refreshing when I hear positive feedback, thanks Flutter :)

    I'm curious though because Flutter mentioned she was able to access her Account Management for this, but I have been unable to access mine since yesterday (Thursday) early afternoon, as it says it's 'down for maintenance and will be back soon' --- does anyone know how long it usually stays down for maintenance? Thanks.

    Let us hope this GM is not fired.

    I have over many years noted an unpleasant trend that the best GMs are fired within short order of their goodness coming out into the open.

    No this doesn't mean we should not report good service.....Because my theory is that EA is using raw numbers of pages as a performance indicator rather than actually resolving issues to the customer's satisfaction -- or resolving them at all. And that would come to light on some report whether we gave them the proper credit or not.

    I'm not sure how to test this theory but it sure fits what we know of EA. And if I'm right it's been how things are handled for many, many years (in other words, reasonably cannot blame this on the current team or recent teams).

    Classic phat back math. If your going to thin the workforce. Get rid of the ones gettting the bigger paycheck due to being there long enough to get a raise. How the fastfood joints got in trouble. Started highering adults that have no graduation in their future and moving on.

    Yes I noted that myself yesterday and helped some friends as well who'd bought various codes and were VERY upset. I did send a message off to Mesanna about it letting her know that once again the Origin store was borking up the UO codes. Hopefully she rattles some chains there and gets it straightened out soon.

    Like Miss Echo says, wouldn't you think that after 3 months of this they would have fixed it? It's obviously not a priority.

    My 6-month sub expires in September. It took 2 hours to renew last time and another 20 minutes on the phone with EA support. After almost 16 years, if it doesn't renew automatically, I'm gone!

    I've not been able to renew my subscription for almost a year now. When I go to select the expiry date for my card the drop down menu only goes to 2021 and my card expires 2022. (or something like that, its been awhile since I checked.) I found it much easier to just buy a gametime code from the Origin store rather than battle it out with them on the phone.

    Please try to remember that our friends and the DEV's at UO have nothing to do with the moronic decisions made by EA/Mythic/Origin... Sadly though they have to deal with them to run our game.

    As for the recent code fubar... that's caused by the recent..... extremely recent upgrade to the Origin store.... it looks like they are putting in stuff so we can purchase more than one of something however that doesn't work... or is currently disabled as I wanted to buy 2 legacy tokens and had to do it one at a time again. I know it's all incredibly frustrating and annoying but remember UO's DEV's have no control over the stupidity at EA/Mythic/Origin.

    No one is blaming the UO Dev's for that stupidity... though I do blame them for the healing aggro stupidity. BUT - EA does take my money, and they are responsible for the mess at the Origin store and the account manager website.

    Please, someone explain to me how it makes business sense to make it so difficult to take someone's money, or take them money and make it so difficult to get and use their product?

    I don't know I buy about 10-15 codes a month sometimes more..never once had an issue..

    I don't know I complained all the way to the CEO's of EA for all the good it did me. I'm still getting billed from the stinking Netherlands every other month... Making me deal with my Credit Cards Fraud Detection Services ..... Talk about a pain. So stupid that they take something soo easy and make it such a pain.

    I don't want to have to do that sort of crap trying to remember what account I need to pay when sounds like a really good way to have a house fall... I just want them to bill my CC automatically just like they used to without me having to jump thru hurdles and play stupid games with them.

    Thanks but since the code worked as it was given to me in the account management page and the email was quite bold about their "exactly as it appears" instructions, and since that post was in June and this is August, I thought it best I page before manipulating a code and perhaps getting an even worse message than "invalid code".
    Thank you for pointing out the link though!
    This was to give kudos to an awesome GM. I don't often get a game master with a positive attitude anymore.

    how often do u page exactly? I've played pretty consistently for 7 years now and I've paged less than 3 times.

    Last time it was because a chest fell below my house and couldn't be reached. :(
    GM never showed up for that one.
