Just for future reference, in case you were unaware, you can hide 100% of the time with no skill points in hiding if your in your house.

doesn't matter i shouldn't have to hide at all inside my own house. this is some real BS here that people can cast nature's fury inside houses.

wtf ever dude that is the lamest things you could do. i guess the guy was tired of getting pwned by BC at spawns so he has to resort to killing a crafter inside a house :/

6. Dont expect to be safe ANYWHERE in fel. Being able to cast furies through walls is lame, not because it can be done, but because it is the only spell that can do this.

I miss the days of EQing invisible people through walls.

Bring back pre-casting, biotch! Wait, no, that's not right.

Actually if you care to get technical it is against the ROC to go afk and be logged into the game. I personally have been put in jail for going afk and not being able to respond to a gm.. as stated in the ROC which the email was sure to mention you must be at keys at all times or log out!

wow, for one i love living in fel. i like to be able to kill anything and anyone outside my house. it is the fact that i was killed INSIDE my house with a clear exploit that pisses me off. and for the record i pvped back when it was REAL pvp. pre aos was the only true pvp now a days its just gankers and hackers. :/

15. inside your house or not, you go afk in fel, get killed, and expect sympathy for it?? at least you only lost a little bit of gold from insurance...

...I get that the spell that killed you was used in a not so legal way, but i'm not entirely certain that I would advertise getting myself killed by not paying attention!

(not that I haven't gotten myself killed from not paying attention, I just wouldn't start a thread about it and expexct sympathy for it)

- Unless you are 'actively' doing something, then you are supposed to insta-log when inside your house.
Me, I take the time to push one button and insta-hide when in my house, prior to logging out(fel&tram).

This reminds me of the MADtv skits that were on last Saturday. The guy is upset that the police will not press charges, and proceeds to ramble on about all the crimes he had already committed to get to that point. When being cuffed, he finally realizes what's up and says 'I must be the stupidest person in the world, huh?'.

I haven't seen a GM since I played in the beta. Though I admit I didn't play UO for 6-7 years between beta and SE, good luck ever having a GM come visit you while you're AFK and on the crapper, let alone have one actually come help you.

- I had a GM visit me two months ago when I had an issue. I have had GMs appear in about 85% of my situations. I had one appear in '97 and I have had one appear in '08. I know they do not always appear; yet... they still undoubtedly do.

I will almost *always* invis or hide before going AFK anywhere...even my house on occasion. I live in a quiet locations with nice neighbors...but you never know what or who could be wandering by. I suppose it's a habit I've developed, like locking the door or something.

I don't think I've seen a day in 9 yrs of UO when you couldn't kill a player inside their house in Fel :p Just hide when you go AFK.

If you're determined that you should be safe while visible in your house, build double walls. But the easiest solution is to hide or log out when you're AFK.

I don't really see the need to fix this - unless it is also fixed that a player can't fight from inside his house or start fights then retreat there.

The people that are doing this are not "newbs". At least not the way we know them. This is a complete different breed from what we are used too. They know what they are doing! They know that there is not a GM in sight and thats what they rely on. This new breed of "newbs" are rejects from WOW and that's all. And that's all they will ever be.

Well I am going to have to agree with the problem.

We have an old player community in Fel. We hold guildmeetings in our tower and ten to thirteen Reds come and they all cast natures fury over and over. Now that kinda is dumb. Should be somewhat safe in your home. Now I can see you leave the door unsecure or have a public home.

But clearly They fixed Blade Spirits from being able to be casted in your home they should fix the nature.

Despite the way hes putting his point across, hes got a point.

If the house is private or someone isn't allowed in, they shouldnt be able to attack whoever is inside. A "Security" feature.

Casting nature's fury like this is clearly an exploit and anyone who picks on him for going AFK in his own house (where youd think youre safe) is just missing the point entirely. If it was trammel and somebody lured a creature to your house, where it then cast a revenant on you, for example, you'd be just as annoyed. If not moreso, because its Trammel!

Felucca by its very nature is a land for PvPers and I am sure, more than anyone, those living there know that. But this is why youd set your house to private. Anyone who hasn't gone afk whilst in-game - even for a pee or a drink - is lying! Imagine coming back to find yourself dead, no matter where you are, but especially in your own house. Doesnt really matter the reason - the house was supposed to be safe and due to an exploit, someone killed the owner.

31. RTLFC

While casting nature fury into a home is clearly a bug that needs to be fixed, its up to the player to protect themselves in any situation like this. Raziel, untill this bug is fixed, I suggest when going afk in your fel home, you hide to avoid further annoyance from griefers, and send in a bug report. your going to get farthest via those means.

[/ QUOTE ]

Double walls can help make it more difficult to get them in. Build a borg cube with only teleports to get you inside. Double the north and west walls or all of them if it makes you feel better. Like I said, its helpful, but it wont stop anyone who is determined to get furies inside. You could also build another room inside that to use as sort of a "safe room".

I sat inside a guildies house in Luna, on Siege the other day and watched him desperately trying to get furies into one of the safe rooms in that house. He finally found a way to get them in. I'm fairly certain we've figured out how he did it, but it appears to involve an exploit beyond just being able to get them inside.

It sucks, but it is what it is. I doubt the devs will ever do anything about it.

Create a "remove thyself" macro. Thats always handy too!

I have mixed feelings about those little furies. I've seen plenty people afk skill training in their house, and nature's fury is the only way to kill them. Many people are also cowardly PvPers and hide in their houses. However,, their existence forces you to double the walls of your house to defend against them. A good change would be to require many more skill points to use instead of every human or anyone with very few skill points being able to use it. It would be nice if we could just get rid of nature's fury and remove private housing however:).

If I remember right it was stated by the devs, that if you are logged in and do absolutely nothing, that means not actively using a skill, then you can go afk and it is not against the rules. But if you are using skills, for example with UOAssist, then you would break the rules, because you are actively using a skill while afk. The GMs will first look if you are using a skill and then, if you are using a skill ask you if you are there. If you do not respond within time, then they will put you into that room in Buc's Den, because of unattended macroing.
So hiding in your house is not against the rules and even standing at the bank doing nothing, just standing there, and being afk is not against the rules.
At least that is what I remember from a devs post.

There are no rules about leaving your character sitting somewhere, doing nothing, while you get up and do something else. There is a time-out timer that you have to be back at your keyboard by, and that's it.

Don't be so quick to jump.

...now, i'm also not scholar in all the rules of UO, so it's entirely possible both of these things are legal... I doubt they are... but in my own opinion attacking into or out of a private house is something we shouldn't be able to do... and even if it is, it's still a very cheap tactic... tho easily not the cheapest or dirtiest thing that's been going on in the game for years

The key phrases there are "active" and "performing a skill, text or action" therefore you can just stand there all day with no worries.
