    so heres the deal.

i noticed one of my mages wasnt capped up on his wrestling.
it was a old toon, back from when you actually got something from having wrestling on mages.

so i thought id top it off cause i had nothing else pressing to do.

so i switched out his LRC/LMC suit for one of my warriors suits to give me a dex boost and then i got to thinking.... does HCI matter for wrestling?

when i train melee guys i super max out thier dex and HCI to make training go faster.... but does it matter for wrestling?

what is the swing speed for wrestling?

some things that make me go "hmmmmmm" tonight.

    if i remember correctly.

there is a section on bottom of combat section about wrestling its a one line one though.

I have had team mates with zero hit chance play Deathstrike mages with wrestle and hit all the time.

But in the same sense if they had a weapon skill would hit alot less because you would need HCI.

now, wrestling i think gets cut some natural breaks because only 2 specials you ever get to use are disarm and stun. so maybe no hci is required still id have to test it.

to be honest i couldnt tell you the last time a mage with wrestle disarmed or stunned me, oooo cause you need tactics for specials now.. nevermind.. who wants to have tactics with wrestling.. waste of time..

anyhow, hope that helps some. i tried to search for the old combat context menu for special moves and such but couldnt find it right off hand stratics information site has changed.

    Possibly a dumb question.......
Doesn't equipping a fishing Pole make you a macer and not a wrestler?

my wrestle mage can disarm and stun without tactics... i do it all the time.
what i can't do is the same while holding a book or shield without enough dex.

  7. HCI does affect wrestling, just like any other weapon skill.

Tactics not required to pull off wrestling specials.

  8. Nah bro its like a spellbook. It's wrestling.

while it's true you don't need tactics for wrestle specials, there's one reason a lot of people still think you do, the error message it gives you if you attempt at too low of wrestle skill is wrong, they use the same one for all reasons, it says your weapons skill and tactics is too low :/ (says the same thing for moves that require poisoning/stealth as well)

I Lol'ed at 6'er after reading your post...... For having played the game as long as you have 6 you surely don't know much about it.......

    Anyway....

-HCI for wrestling works just like any other weapon skill

-2.0 Swing speed for wrestling is incorrect... I know stratics has it listed as such but it's actually 2.5 s base swing speed. I KNOW this bc

    0-29 stam
    5% SSI

produces 2.25 Swing Delays ( & yes I took serveral 5 hit aka 4 delay measurements) 2.5 Base swing for wrestling puts it inline with the expected swing speeds at various stam / SSI levels...

You can't chug and you have to be standing directly on top of the other individual with a fishing pole.

    @Poo
At around 40-60 dex potted a person can swing at a good rate, not sure if max. IMO HCI helps if it can be fit in, since it adds both a chance to interrupt spells with successful hits and allows your to more efficiently make use of specials costs.

You can't fire off specials, either.
But for training I always use cat/dog form, virtue armour, and your choice of SC light source (twilight lantern or candlewood torch).

As far as training I always just used jewelry to get to 80 and used a fishing pole for max ssi and hit a golem. Hci is a plus too.
