Wrong vs Shame/Covetous

    Just out of curiosity since I never hear about anyone hunting in Wrong, I was wondering if the loot drops are different? I remember I hunted there a little bit when it first came out and the drops seemed just like shame.

    Wondered why no one seems to hunt there? Less high level foes?

    Seems players prefer human+gargoyle loot. Wrong is human+elf loot

    I use wrong when i build chars up with swords, parry, fencing its cool..drops ard no much different from shame or covteous..its eysier at wrong thought..

    That was my impression too. The monsters seem easier, and the dungeon is much easier to navigate. Guess if I ever get around to playing regularly again thats where I'll head.

    Wrong is easier.

    Covetous and Shame appear to have the better chance for more-useful loot, especially if you fight one of the quasi-bosses from Covetous. But you can get useful stuff from Wrong as well.

    Most of the "wow this would be amazing if it weren't for it being brittle, cursed, AND unable to be repaired" loot that I've encountered is from Covetous and Shame. From this I deduce that the TRULY awesome loot also comes from those places.

    I have one character that does Covetous and Shame regularly and one that does Wrong regularly.

    Interesting. I'll have to test Wrong out for my warriors in training. What critters are best for lower skilled chars?

    One of the things about Wrong that may make it less appealing than Shame is that you can't recall to or from inside of it. Therefore, if you go there with a character that isn't quite up to the task or run into some kind of a problem, it can be a bit disastrous trying to get your character out safely. The no-recall aspect of it also makes it a place that you only go to when you feel pretty sure nothing else is going to come up that requires you to walk out to be able to recall. It's not really some place that you can go to for a quick trip or if there's a chance you're going to get interrupted. If you're farming loot just to be able to unravel bags and bags of it to build up a supply of imbuing ingredients, especially relic fragments, you can probably get done faster by going to Shame in Trammel. But if you're looking for elven-style items, Wrong would be a good place to visit.

    I think Tina Small has it right (about re-calling in and out).

    For lower leveled characters, I would suggest just sticking to the front of Wrong. The two types of lizardmen aren't overly tough, and you can get some fair items (I haven't noticed any "uber" stuff). I keep hoping to get some simple, clean, jewelry with SSI. Can imbue anything else on those.

    With stronger characters, I like to hit up the back part of Level 1, where a single mage and brigand spawn. They are tougher than the lizardmen, for sure, but still beatable. Their re-spawn isn't too fast, and it's only the two of them. I have gotten nicer items back there. Usually I take a disco/tamer. Not sure disco should work on them, but it does. No complaints here!

    wrong in the lower level is nice, you head off to the mage and executioner spawn area, as long as you can work them both its nice loot. but the loot off of them isnt as nice as the basement of either shame or covetous. and as well it shouldn't be, i can kill the big stuff in wrong in under a minute, the stuff in the basement of shame/covetous takes a lot longer.

    you cant recall into covetous either though.
    shame is the only one you can recall in and out of.

    Yeah, but at least Covetous has "landing areas" between levels that you can use and you can recall out of some parts of it.

    Wrong is super easy I used it to train my GD and the loot wasn't great not horrible but you can get nice pieces there..got a 4fcr 10 Mage 10dci ring there clean no negatives..easy relic farming tho

    Yes you can.

    Confirmed for level 3, the northern table area.

    I haven't tried other areas, but that particular area definitely is in the dungeon and is not an in-between overland area like the area between levels 1 and 2 and 2 and 3.

    Can't recall into the Void Pool, maybe?

    You can recall into Covetous 3, not just the cavern area outside.

    With Wrong being so small, would recall/no recall really be an issue there?

    On prodo Trammel, with no push through, it shouldn´t take more than 10-15 secs to go from the deepest end to being outside.

    We're actually all, by definition, playing a land of fairy dust and unicorn. Just some of us have enough confidence to admit it.

    In Fel you can't recall out of, or into, any dungeon or any location on that server, including The Lost Lands (the T2A map for those who only understand things in abbreviated form).

    I point this out because you seemed to think, incorrectly, it was something special about Covetous, especially since we're talking about Covetous versus other dungeons.

    actually the thread is about shame and covetous VS wrong, not covetous vs other dungeons.
    so for that matter, you seem to think, incorrectly.

    and it is interesting that they made wrong tram the same as the fel side dungeons.
    i didnt know that as i dont play tram side.

    There's 3 dungeons in the mix, hence the plural.

    Most of us would appear to be taking the thread as all 3 against each other, though Wrong versus the other obviously was the impetus.

    I know that's how I took it anyway, and no one objected.

    For both better and worse they appear to be going for each revamped Dungeon being only barely comparable to the others, each one having a different concept, monsters, and rules.

    Advantage is that they can all make a reasonable claim to some kind of uniqueness along many variables.

    Disadvantage is that it might eventually get confusing.

    Me I prefer the rules being uniform and content being what's different.

    But then a vocal minority of players complain that there's no original ideas, that the team is lazy, etc.

    Yeah.. Wrong is a PRISON..... so it makes sense that it's a no-recall zone in both facets.
