ok just kinda curious I think yumi's have some of the best specials in game I know its a slow bow normally but it can rock I have a yumi that has 25 mana leech ,balanced, 36 di, and only 10 ssi and it rocks wish it had 35 or 40 ssi I also have several others like undead slayer 30 ssi and some di (think 20) and if I hit with dual shot there are not many undead that can stand up to it! I guess my question is why are there not more out there I know they are harder to make but holy smoke these are good bows I would easily pay 10 times the amount of other bows to get one with say 35 ssi 35 mana leech balanced, and some hld or hci and if it has di fine if not my suit covers it even stam leech would be good mana leech is a must though for me! I did a search on one of the sites for yumis and got like 15 on all shards combined do you all think they are that bad?

Peopel dont like wasting charges on insane hard to get heartwood kits trying to make these , the elven bows are sooo much harder to make exceptional thats its stupid , not to talk about the chance for a complete failure to make anything !!

I think you have a pretty valid question. I think the answer lies within well...my opinion that like in every online MMPORG game, people pigeonhole as far as what is the "BEST" Weapon to use.

As far as people wanting to make money though, they will make what will sell and is "popular." Popular reflects trends primarily.

If you are like me then well, trends don't matter. I agree with you though. Yumi is one of my favorite bow types to use. Nothing like killing powerful mobs in a couple of hits using the specials that said bow provides.

If you don't have a fletcher, next best thing is to find a fletcher friend and offer to provide a kit. I'm sure they wouldn't mind as long as they got to keep a bow themselves. At least I wouldn't anyways.

Just a note though, tell them not to bother if they don't have a descent fletching talisman. I highly recommend at least 20 and 20 for making the higher end bows.

thank you thought it was just me and if you have a archer and no Fletcher I think you have problems to start with :)
as for me I have taken just the oak kit and combined it with the different woods and gotten some nice yumi's as a matter of fact i recommend using them to make them they are way cheep and I always get at least one decent bow out a them! for yumi's that is!

oh and yes I think I use a 24 exceptional bonus one (would have to look) and no normal bonus then I have a like 20/20 tali just depends what i am making

Because most kits are burned for pvp. Right now, concussion blow (and by extension, crossbows) is the special of choice due to its huge damage. But people are slowly learning the immense effectiveness of double shot in PvP. A hit spell bow can easily do 70 damage, so you'll probably see much more of these pop up once concussion blow is nerfed.

They're really hard to make anything worthwhile. And trying to farm one to enhance... well... that's just as hard if not harder than burning a kit for one as the loot spawn in Tokuno really sucks butt unless you do the Peerless. Even then you have slim to no chance of anything to write home about.

Yeah I agree with you. Farming for good ones to enhance you might spend many a month trying to get some descent ones. Very difficult indeed.

As far as trends though, nerfing damage or otherwise, I cannot see these becoming mainstream. Basically for the reason that you already mentioned. Higher difficulty rate than crossbows or heavy's.

They need to up the loot table in Tokuno. If they did, i'd farm more often there to get a Yumi.

With imbueing coming out.. whenever that is. I'll definatey make myself a Yumi.

They're slow... but with 30-40 SSI and the right mods... they are extremely deadly.

i hunt the tsk wolves about 1 in 7 or 8 seems to give me a yumi about 1in10 of those is worth moding and about 1in 3 of those servives the mod attempt depending on the stats of the bow your skill at fletching etc so about 1 in every 250 wolves you get a keeper plus the 250k gold you get and leather not to mention other items this seems to be the best bet i have found

    Turdnugget Guest

True...i've hunted them before. They die pretty quick with a tamer.

I've done Oni's as well.. no luck there. Just harder to kill and just as crappy of loot.

ive burned a few kits for Yumi's...

    25 excep tali
    GM fletching
    GM lore

FAIL about 27% of the time.

2 Best Yumis ive ever made-

    46 lightning
    30 SSI
    40 DI

    47 Velo
    balanced
    25 SSI
    40 DI

time to institute a 120 scroll on fletching is my opinion

p.s. double shot is nice, Armor Pierce even better :D

Chaosy nailed it on the head...I'd even take Mana leech over DI.

Yumi hits just like a heavy crossbow. Double shot someone, and if both arrows hit + both hit spells x 2...It's sick.

That would be great but I would rather have mana leech instead of DI myself as I have di built into my suit so I don't need the di on any weapon

Yeah perhaps, but they would just adjust the difficulty percentages so that it will still be as difficult to make.

    55 jewels(ring essence 30)20 talisman,25 storm grip
very cool to not have to have the di on a weapon i can often get great weapons that just don't have di or not much for cheep as most people seem to think its important to have on a weapon

  19. Kith Kanan

    Kith Kanan Guest

well as I want 1/3 hci dci and EP if possible on my jewels , the room for di is limited....

  20. the best place i have found to farm yumi's is oni
recently got this one while training my greater dragon, good gold, fame, and occassionally a weapon to store away till imbuing comes out.

    .1 yumi
    mage weapon -21
    hit lightning 50
    hit mana 20
    hit life 36

i figure with all the ssi mods from the invasion bows and all the otherweapons i've made burning cheap runics i should hopefully get at leat one decent bow... ha ha we'll see.

    Turdnugget Guest

You can't take SSI from the invasion weapons... =/ Or from any runic made unless it's made out of iron/regular wood.

I don't recall seeing a quote from the Devs on this. Although I try to stay away from Uhall because it gives me a headache.

  23. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

People have tried to enhance these weapons, and say that you can't... thus meaning it's already 'enhanced' with some special property. Those are the rumors...since you can't unravel anything made with a special material, I believe invasion weapons fall under that category.

Otherwise, could you imagine someone running around with a double hit spell crossbow with 50% SSI?

The most you could get on a perfect yumi w/imbueing would be 40% if you later enhanced it with Ash and succeeded. The odds of that happening...I dunno... but if you succeeded... talk about an uber weapon =)

  24. Chaosy

I'm fairly positive it was stated that invasion weapons cannot be enhanced/unraveled.

I looked and couldn't find a quote from a Dev, just Uhaller speculation.

  26. Damn there goes my plans then. oh well guess 30 -35 ssi will be the highest i can get on any weapons i imbue....

lately i have burned a few ash fletching kit's w normal wood and have a pretty good selection of mods to hopefully make some decent bows when i get gm imbuing.

as well as 8 bronze and 2-3 copper hammers using iron ingot's......
still got about 40 dull copper hammers lying around so i can get in some practice , and see how well the process works hopefully it's not all hype...

    ha ha we'll see.

  27. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

Most you'll get is 30 SSI, unless you enhance w/Ash after using regular wood in the first place.

You can only imbue up to the highest spawning/crafted property intensity of that item w/out the use of any special material.

IE: Craft with a runic fletching kit and you get a bow with 30SSI. That's as high as you can get on a bow/melee weapon w/out further enhancing w/special material AFTER the weapon is fully imbued to what you want.

You can't enhance to 40 SSI beforehand, otherwise you will no longer be able to imbue w/other properties as it's already been enhance prior to, with a special resource. Hence the reason, if you're gonna get into imbueing, it's best to use iron ingots, leather, regular wood so you can later unravel them.

Depending on the fail/success rate, you may want to risk imbueing a bow up to 30 SSI/DI/Balance/Hit Spell etc, then take your chances at enhancing with Ash wood to get 40SSI. But you can't do it before the imbueing process. And you have to PoF the item BEFORE you imbue, otherwise you can no longer imbue.

At least that's what I gather from what's been stated =)

I'm not sure why you would want to be a little greedy to imbue a weapon that is a double wammy. Rare but good as well. It would inevitably disappear after imbuing it. Since, you won't be able to boost the duration ever again. That is the downfall.

  29. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

    What do you mean Diomedes?

If you have a double hit spell Yumi, and PoF it before you imbue/enhance, you'll have a godly Yumi that is 255/255 durability... i'm sure that would last long enough to get it's worth =)

  30. RichDC

    RichDC Guest

Did you guys not read about imbuing???

You cant just pull a mod of a weapon and transfer it,

you pull a reagent of the items by unraveling all the mods, to get the best reagent you need about 500mod "points" which come from max mods...self repair 5 for example is a 100%mod so 100 points.

Then you get a crafting menu like in smithy (from what i gathered this lil bit is a little speculation) to create a mod group choice requiring a certain amount of gems.

  31. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

I understand the unravelling, and you get X amount of points for X amount of intensity from that 1 item/mod.

What i'm trying to say is, you can craft a bow with a runic with regular wood, get 30 SSI, 50 Fireball, 40 DI on it. Then get ingredients/reagents from unravelling and toss on 50 Velocity onto that bow as well, since it's not made with any special material.

Thus giving you a Yumi with 30 SSI, 50 Fireball/Velocity, 40 DI. Having already PoF'd it BEFORE the imbueing process, you've got a bow with 255/255 durability.

Then if you want to RISK it, enhance it with Ash hoping for 40 SSI.

  32. RichDC

    RichDC Guest

I may be wrong about how many mods you can unravel...

    But...

The item is Definately destroyed in the process of unravaling

The item is destroyed once successfully unraveled. If you fail to unravel or imbue it will not destroy the item like enhancing does.

My point was, and I could be wrong about this. But, I had recalled from reading about imbuing that you won't be able to boost the durability. JUST that once it is at say 255 and wears down, you can repair it sure. But that you won't be able to use powder to boost the durability again.

    Is that incorrect?

Sure you could have a good bow, a yumi and yeah it can be pretty awesome for lack of a better word at the moment, but eventually...255, 254, 253 max durability until....*poof.*

Any more, 255 durability does not last a real long time. But, for me I know I am probably greedy. If I have a good weapon, lol...I want to keep it. Not have the yumi in this case, disintegrate.

You are correct. That is why Imbuing won't be widespread for PvM weapons. I have to use POF on my sampires weapons regularly because I grind them down so quickly.

For PvP it will be extremely popular because they will last a whole heck of a lot longer.

  36. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

Depending on how hard they make it to successfully imbue/unravel, I see it more from a PvP perspective.

PvP weapons don't wear down nearly as fast as PvM weapons. I see it levelling the field out more with regards to PvP.

If I had an uber PvM weapon, I wouldn't unravel it to make it imbueable. Like Lynk said, it's best that you can always repair/PoF it.

But imbueing isn't a bad start to get a leet PvM weapon to find a leet PvM weapon to use instead of an imbued one so it lasts longer =)

Most people would use a Yumi in PvP though...At least for the most part.

I'm sure once that happens, people will cry nerf though... They wont wanna get hit for 3/4 damage from a yumi in one shot =)

Imbued Yumis will be the most commonly enhanced bow (in my opinion).

  38. Turdnugget

    Turdnugget Guest

    How could they not?

With the insane damage they'll do with double hit spell + double shot...I've tested it on Test Center... it's insane.

That's why people will cry nerf =)

I'd pair it with a regular bow. Mortal (two of these if they apple), Para, Double Shot.

Ya, that'd be a nasty combo, add in a balanced bow or yumi to throw a poisoned dart at them =)

Gotta stay mounted, otherwise you can't use the specials on the Yumi.
