A simple request for the dev teams

  1. I don't know about you but i started playing uo in 3d over 7 years ago and i really miss the old 3d containers and back packs.
    • For those who don't know about the old 3d containers in 3d there was a blue bubble with the containers, back packs, pack animals, ship hulls and banks that if you clicked on it and held it and and dragged it you could make it as small as you wanted or as big as you wanted you could event stretch the container as big as the screen if you wanted.
    • In 2d you cannot do that and everything is so cluttered that you often have to shuffle through things and i hate that keep in mind i started in 3d before criticizeing me. in kr there are a few back pack options but nothing comes close to how good or conveinant and easy the old 3d container art was.
    • The beauty about the 3d containers was you could stretch the container as much as you wanted and be able to see every single item in it at the same time so you could oraginize things so much better, faster and easier then you can now.
    • I request an option in both 2d and in KR mode to give us this as an additional option that we can turn on or turn off so if we don't want to use it we don't have too. please consider this request dev team thank you.

It's a nice request..... On of the VERY few things I liked about the old 3d..... I used to like the paperdolls before they messed with them and made all the guys look like they were 12... The only other thing I truly loved about 3d was the actions and moves you could do with your character..... like fainting..... waving.... clapping.... things like that.... Loved that.... miss it.

As far as KR goes doubt I'll ever use it.... Not unless someone ships me a brand new top of the line PC that can actually run it...... and it's not SUPER slow laggy and all that..... and then they would have to come over here and reset all my macro's up just like they are in 2d.... cause I am pretty well lost when it comes to setting up macro's in KR.... and I don't care to reset all the macro's for all 40+ of my characters...

Oh and the major FLAW with 3d was you could never use 3d for a vendor or try to trade with anyone who was in 2d because everything you placed in the trade window went skrewhaw all over the screen and 9 times out of 10 the person in 2d could never ever see it....... And if you ever went shopping in 2d it was a nightmare trying to look at things on a vendor who was set up in 3d..... would look like a giant pile of garbage all smashed together in 2d when in 3d it looked great.... Not that I ever kept a vendor of my own but I do a heck of a lot of shopping and I could always tell those that set up in 3d over the 2d ones.
  3. Actually when we had 3d we had an option in it to switch it to the 2d container mode so 2d players could see all the items we placed on the vendor too.

Ohhh ... what I DESPERATELY miss is the ability to drop something on someone's status bar to open trade. You could also feed you pet this way. Ohhhhh ... of all the things I miss about 3D ... that is #1 *sigh*

ONLY if you didn't know what you were doing. I could run a vendor in 3d (and in KR as well) and noone would be able to tell without prior knowledge that I had used the 3d or KR clients.

It's all in learning the "2d placement zone" and placing things accordingly.

In 3d, the placement zone was in the top left corner (you could identify this zone just simply by watching where crafted items appeared when making them).

In KR, it is in the bottom center (this took a bit longer, but I have a detailed post of it on the KR forum as well as a couple other forums).

Third Dawn graphics SUCKED, but they had the best UI of any client UO ever had. Everything about that UI just rocked. You mentioned the bags, but that was just part of it. Spell books were better, rune books were better, spells actually could be stuck together in straight lines and that was better. I miss the Third Dawn UI. They should have kept Third Dawn UI but updated the graphics to make KR. The uis would go TD>2d>KR imo.

You are right about the trading although it was fine if you put the checks in the bag or you were only trading one check (and back then things could actually be obtained for 1 million gold). For vendors though the client had a legacy container option that all you had to do was click on it and you had the old legacy containers in the game.

I 100 percent agree with you. as a former 3d player myself i really miss that part of 3d. the containers and back packs in 3d where the best nothing comes close now not even in KR mode.
