Maybe ya need to hit an *oak* tree ? haha

Then after ya lumberjack for hours seems all the trees give us plain wood anyway no matter what they are labeled as.

Sort of similar when I actually hit a vein of verite ore get the actual green ore but I get a stupid white granite rock instead of a green one...go figure nothing in UO makes sense anyhow. :) Hit a YEW tree...probably get plain wood anyways. RNG BLEH !

At GM skill level , any and all trees can and will eventually produce any and
all types of wood. Just keep trying... once a tree produces a type of wood...
that tree will keep on producing for one minute to several days the same type
    of wood.

The Yew trees that did it the most times are just South of the Village buildings
of Yew... The Yew trees to the West and North never did for me.

If you are looking for Frostwood... and Brilliant Amber the Lost Lands seems
    to work for me.
